Sit in the driver’s seat of the new Volvo S60 and experience an environment that has been designed entirely for your driving pleasure. The clean and uncluttered interior layout combines form and function. Thoughtful details, such as diamond-patterned control knobs and the tailored dashboard, reveal an inspired sense of refinement.

The front seats are shaped to complement the human form, so they are exceptionally supportive and feature a wide range of adjustment settings. In the rear, generous legroom and the same levels of seat support mean that all your passengers will travel in comfort, wherever they’re seated.

The standard panoramic glass roof floods the cabin with light, and it’s also tinted to reduce glare and has a powered sunshade. The Metal Mesh Aluminum decor is a modern and luxurious design element, perfectly complementing the stainless steel speaker panels of the Bowers & Wilkins audio system.

Distinctive air vents feature controls in a metal finish and a diamond-patterned knob. Metal Mesh Aluminum inlays on the dashboard create a technical, contemporary expression that perflectly complements the driver-focused cabin.

Our driver-centric, 9-inch Sensus Touchscreen replaces physical buttons with virtual equivalents facilitating ease of use. The portrait format of the display shows more map area at a time, preventing the need to scroll as often.

The chassis in the S60 combines double wishbone front suspen-sion with a unique integrally-linked rear axle. It means that every input you make is matched with a precise and sharp reaction, while still ensuring a smooth ride. The Sport chassis on the R-Design trim increases stability and quickens responses even further by lowering the ride height and adding stiffer springs and dampers.

THE POWER OF EFFORTLESS RESPONSE

Wherever you’re headed, our powerful and refined gasoline powertrains deliver a captivating driving experience. The T5 engine balances responsiveness with efficiency, while the high-performance T6 AWD engine is both supercharged and turbocharged. Compact and light, these four-cylinder powertrains reduce weight over the front wheels, which helps improve agility and the way the car responds to driving inputs. And because smaller engines lose less energy through friction, you’ll find them more efficient – every drop of fuel works harder, thus helping minimize emissions and consumption.

With the T6 AWD petrol powertrain, a combination of a supercharger and turbocharger ensures the engine’s power is always available when you need it, from low-speed manoeuvres to high-speed cruising. The T6 AWD also benefits from all-wheel drive, which can increase traction and grip when accelerating – useful in slippery conditions or when towing, for example.

All of our powertrains can be enhanced by adaptive drive modes, allowing you to alter the way the S60 drives to suit the road ahead. Eco mode, for example, recalibrates the powertrain for the lowest possible fuel consumption and emissions, while Dynamic sharpens response times, reacting faster to your commands. As the Volvo S60 is available with our eight-speed Geartronic™ automatic transmission, you will experience smooth, responsive gear changes. Opt for the R-Design trim and you can add unique paddle shifters for easy and exact gear shifting.

PILOT ASSIST: YOUR JOURNEY

MADE EASIER

Our semi-autonomous technology is designed to make your life easier, allowing you to relax and enjoy the drive without relinquishing control. Pilot Assist helps reduce some of the effort required at higher speeds (up to 130 km/h) or in stop-start traffic, so journeys can be more enjoyable. It keeps the S60 at a set speed and distance from the vehicle in front, and uses steering inputs to help keep you in the centre of your lane. This means that even in the most monotonous driving situations, such as on long highway journeys, your car takes some of the strain and keeps you focused on the drive.

It does this using a combination of information from a camera and a radar integrated into the S60’s windscreen, which the car uses to monitor its position relative to visible lane markings and the vehicle in front of you (if there is one).

Pilot Assist is connected to the Drive Modes of the Volvo S60. While in ECO mode, there is the possibility of improved fuel efficiency, and Dynamic mode quickens the response to the speed of the vehicle in front.

CITY SAFETY TECHNOLOGY, YOUR PROACTIVE PARTNER ON THE ROAD

Oncoming Mitigation by Braking A Volvo Cars safety world first, this innovation can detect vehicles heading towards you on the wrong side of the road. If a collision can’t be avoided, it will automatically apply the brakes to help reduce the effect of a collision.

Lane Keeping Aid The Lane Keeping Aid will gently steer your car back into its lane if it senses you are about to inadvertently cross into a different lane. If this is not enough or if you keep steering across the lane markings, you’ll be alerted with vibrations in the steering wheel.

Oncoming Lane Mitigation If you drift across the lane markings and into the path of oncoming traffic, your car warns you and gently steers you back onto the correct path. Using the automatic steering assistance, this safety system will help to avoid collisions with oncoming vehicles.

Our advanced proactive safety technology helps you feel confident and in control. At the heart of this technology is City Safety. By helping you keep a lookout and brake or steer away if necessary, it makes driving more enjoyable while helping to prevent accidents.

City Safety can identify other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals ahead of you, even at night. It warns you if necessary and can brake automatically to help avoid a collision or reduce impact. Our advanced Oncoming Mitigation by Braking technology – a Volvo Cars safety world first –

can detect if there’s another vehicle driving towards you and brakes automatically to mitigate the impact.

Your Volvo can also support you if you’re forced into rapid evasive action at speeds between 50 and 100 km/h. As you begin to steer away, City Safety can help you do it as effectively and safely as possible by braking the inner wheels individually and reinforcing your steering input.

City Safety is your perfect co-pilot: proactive when it’s needed, and staying discreetly in the background the rest of the time.

Run-off road Mitigation Stay safely on the road with this Volvo Cars safety innovation. If Run-off road Mitigation detects you’re about to leave the road unintentionally, it uses steering input and, if necessary, brake support to guide you back on track.

Driver Alert Control If you are getting fatigued or lose concentration at the wheel, Driver Alert Control will alert you and suggest a break. With Sensus Navigation, it can even guide you to the nearest safe and convenient location for a rest-stop.

BLIS™ BLIS™ uses radar sensors at the rear of the car to monitor your surroundings, and detect if vehicles have entered your blind spot or are approaching fast from behind. If you pull into the path of an approaching vehicle it will also alert you.

The advanced Öhlins shock absorbers work together with the Polestar Engineered front and rear springs that stiffen up the chassis and lower the ride height. This gives a somewhat firmer and more composed ride with less roll and more grip when cornering. And for stable and predictable handling, the technical layout of the T8 Twin Engine AWD powertrain adds to even weight distribution and a low centre of gravity.

The Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered takes the driving precision and performance of the S60 to a higher level. The 303 hp+87 hp T8 Twin Engine AWD powertrain with plug-in hybrid technology and all-wheel drive gives you uncompromised power and efficiency. Together with the engineers at Polestar, we have upgraded the highly capable S60 chassis with stiffer springs by Polestar and high-end

suspension technology by Öhlins – the renowned Swedish manufacturer of shock absorbers for performance and racing cars and motorcycles.
