#Since 2000, the average per capita income of 31 landlocked countries has increased by about 3.8 percent per year (mainly in the Central Asian countries of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan), which significantly exceeded the global average of 1.5 percent, and the average growth rate for all low-income countries of 3.1 percent. It also slightly exceeded the average growth rate (of about 3.4 percent) of the 27 transit countries.

Among the LLDCs, the Central Asian countries have experienced the most increase in value of merchandise exports (almost 8-fold), followed by Sub-Saharan countries (4-fold increase).
