Situated just over 2 hours west of Brisbane in South East Queensland, Jimbour House is a unique and grand homestead steeped in rich history.
In its heyday, Jimbour Station was on one of the Darling Downs’ great properties stretching over 300,000 acres from the Bunya Mountains to the Condamine River, and from the present site of Dalby to Jandowae. Jimbour is still a working station with a modest 2,000 head of cattle.
The homestead was established in 1876 with 200 workmen employed to work on the project, which utilised local sandstone, cedar from the Bunya Mountains and slate imported from Wales.
Today, Jimbour House is a heritage listed private residence with the owner generously opening its doors for weddings and private events.
