As I continue with my research on “How many Female Corvette Owners out there” General Motors estimates that about 10 percent of Corvette owners are women. Has anyone noticed more women driving fast cars? You see women driving mopar, low riders, motorcycles, corvettes are all driven by women. As a matter of fact, much more driving is done by women today than in the past. More women are driving and they are driving more miles. They are also driving at older ages.

Women are coming together more than ever to equalize the automotive playing field. Women can network, learn about cars, discover different automotive interests and have the skills, talent, and passion that they already have for automotives can be done in one spot.

To give women just starting out the same opportunities as the men To give women a different option for the car club scene than the largely male dominated clubs out there

Women Riders Now (WRN) is the leading resource, online or in print, for motorcycling news and reviews from a female point of view. One of the biggest shifts taking place in the motorcycling industry is the growth and impact of the female riding population. According to the Motorcycle Industry Council's latest statistics, 25 percent of all motorcyclists are female—that's one out of every four riders. making women the fastest growing group of new riders. It's not just a guy thing anymore. And it’s only 10 percent of Corvette owners are women.

Female Corvette Owners we need to catch up. We are only at 10 percent compare to the female bikers they are at 25 percent.

In my experience, car clubs and car activities are very male-oriented, with the wives/girlfriends/significant others accompanying the men. Some of the ladies are actively involved, but it's still more of a guy’s thing. But, for a long time, it was very much a male-oriented profession. Just like the bikers, the women are coming out.

Barrett-Jackson will have six special cars crossing the block at its Las Vegas auction on Sept. 20-22. Proceeds from each sale are set

to go to a different charity.

The first of the special lots is a 2005 Ford Mustang GT “Platt and Payne Signature Edition.” The car was donated by Mike Jenkins,

who purchased it from Barrett-Jackson's Palm Beach auction in 2009. The Mustang was built to commemorate Hubert Platt and

Randy Payne, two NHRA Hall of Fame drag racers. Platt headed Ford's eastern drag team in the 1960s and '70s and drove a 428

Cobra Jet Mustang to an NHRA record 12.41 seconds quarter at 112.92 mph. Payne piloted a Torino Cobra to victory so often that

his nickname became Mr. Big Stuff.

The 2005 Mustang was upgraded by tuner Shadrach with a supercharger and 20-inch wheels. This car sale benefits the Darrell

Gwynn Foundation, whose mission is to provide support to paralyzed people and prevent spinal cord injuries.

Lot 2002 is a 2012 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, which was a pace car at the Mobil 1 Grand Prix of Mosport. It's a stocker, besides the

paint job, and features Chevy's supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine. That's good for 580 horses and 556 lb-ft of torque. One hundred

percent of the winning bid will go to the YMCA of Southern Nevada.

The next charity lot benefits Team Joseph, whose mission is to find a cure or treatment for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Lot 2003 is

a 2013 Cadillac ATS sedan. It's the new small car in Cadillac's lineup and features a 3.6-liter direct-injected V6 with 321 hp. It

has the Premium Collection upgrade along with a six-speed automatic transmission.

A rare 1955 Chevy 210 hardtop will sell, probably for a good amount considering its rarity and the 8,600 miles on the odometer.

It was formerly owned by NASCAR champion Dave Jones and has never been restored. Options include the six-cylinder engine,

white wall tires, two-tone paint and clock delete. At one point in its history, the '55 Chevy was owned by Bob Everts, one of the men

behind So-Cal Speed Shops. Proceeds from this car will be split between the Barrett-Jackson Cancer Research Fund and

the Festival of Hope in Scottsbluff, Neb.

There's also a 1970 Chevy Nova with a 555-cubic-inch engine scheduled to go under the hammer. It has a Tremec five-speed

manual transmission and is painted dark cherry red. The car is set up as a Pro-Touring car. It has a custom fuel tank, Hotchkis

subframe connector and a three-inch Flowmaster exhaust system. Output is rated at 650 hp and 650 lb-ft of torque. To contain that

power the Nova uses a McLeod RSC dual-friction clutch, Billet flywheel, three-inch aluminum driveshaft and a 12-bolt rear end with a

3.73 gear Detroit TrueTrack locker. It has CalTrac bars in the rear and a host of other upgrades. Tinted windows and black-accented

wheels add to the sinister look. The interior is just as trick with leather seats, a custom-built rear parcel tray and door panels, a

custom-built subwoofer enclosure and a Vintage Air system. Whatever the car garners will go to The Mission Continues.

Last up is a 2012 Ford F-150 SVT Raptor. But, unlike all the other examples of Ford's off-roader out there, this was designed

by NASCAR driver Greg Biffle's team at Roush. It has a custom paintjob with a matte finish and ghosted number 16s in the white

paint. With the added Roush supercharger, it makes 525 hp and 535 lb-ft of torque. Roush also added an exhaust system for a more

aggressive tone, 18-inch V-Tec Wizard wheels and 35-inch off-road tires. The truck features a Ford Racing Auxiliary Light Bar with

four KC Hi Lite eight-inch HID lights. Proceeds go to the Greg Biffle Foundation, which advocates for the well being of animals.

C7 Chevy Corvette Front and Rear

D’oh! Someone at Omega Tool Corporation decided to produce a video

(embedded below) extolling the virtues of its plastics tooling technology, likely

in an attempt to gain more automaker business. In so doing, however, the

Tier-1 supplier may have put a pretty big account in jeopardy: that of GM and,

specifically, its new plastic-fantastic 2014 Corvette. It’s a car people have been

dying to see, and that’s the way the General likes it. (That said, we know some

stuff: Check out spy photos and more information on the C7 here.)

The screen capture above comes to us from Jalopnik, which was the first

outlet to report on a Corvette Online post about the video—the latter originally

touted the clip as a look at the process behind C6 bumpers, but the site’s

commenters quickly noticed otherwise. (Jalopnik also has a full gallery of

screen caps.)

From what we can see, our most recent rendering of the C7 Vette’s front end is

pretty true to life. Angular headlamps cut into the fascia, there’s a large

rectangular opening below the point of the nose, and it will again be made of

molded plastic, at least on base models. This version of the fascia also looks

like it will accommodate—need, really—a splitter or curb-defense device.

Although it’s hard to tell from the engineering renderings, the front clip

appears as a short front overhang, something that we hope accompanies a

shorter overall length.

Of equal interest is the look at the rear bumper provided by the video. It’s a

little tougher to make out the overall shape versus that of the front piece, but

we can see inset portions that will house a pair of lighting elements.

Combining this with information we’ve gleaned from a source who should

know, it appears the Vette may ditch its four individual circular taillights in

favor of the circles-within-a-protruding-bar units seen on recent Chevys. We

expect much fury and anger from Vette traditionalists.

There’s also a clue as to the shape of the rear deck; what looks like a bump at

the top of the fascia suggests a tapered boat-tail that will continue from the

backlight and terminate at the trailing edge of the car. It has been long

rumored—and our spy photos corroborate—that the C7 would in some way

adopt this C2 design element. So that’s a point in each of the retro and modern

columns, keeping things balanced at least on the tail.

General Motors is recalling 5,755 2011-2012 Chevrolet Corvette coupes for potentially faulty hatch hinges that could break loose in a crash. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the rear hatch hinges on Vettes built between January and September don't meet federal weight capacity requirements. The 2012 SEMA Show and AAPEX SEMA Show takes place October 30 - November 2, 2012 at the Las Vegas Convention Center. More than 1,800 accessorized and customized four-wheel and two-wheel vehicles will be on display at the 2012 SEMA Show. Best place to make important business connections and network with the industry’s leaders. Independent Club of Christian Corvette Owners was developed to provide an outlet for Christians that owned corvettes and that wanted to be with other owners that share their belief in God and the Bible and participate in other clubs selected events. The club was also developed for a person not to be tied down to a club and membership that often get side tracked by the three things that usually destroys clubs, friendships, and unity in a group which is power, greed, and money. The members of this club have the freedom to move freely from club to club to support their events and projects if the events fit within their Christian values. Getting Your Corvette Ready For Winter Storage Helpful Tips For Storing Your Corvette Over The Winter

Change the oil and filter, let the engine run for awhile to circulate the fresh oil. The reason for this is the oil tends to collect acids as you drive. We've seen engine parts corrode from sitting in used oil over the winter.

Fill the gas tank to the top and add fuel stabilizer. You want the smallest air gap as possible because temperature change will cause condensation.

Wash and completely detail your Corvette, inside and out.

Inflate tires to 40 pounds of air. The reason is because on average your tire will lose 2 pounds of air each month when sitting. Also, this will prevent your tires from forming hard spots.

Clean out the interior really well. Check all compartments as to not attract mice.

Place several moth balls on plates around and under your Corvette to keep mice away.

Stuff a rag into the air box intake and exhaust tip to keep mice out. *Make sure you make a note to remove them before starting your Corvette in the spring.

Check the anti-freeze and adjust if needed. Should be at least 20 below zero.

Top off any other fluids in the engine bay.

Place a 'Dry Pac' moisture bag in the interior and engine bay to keep the moisture levels down. Put them on plastic bags so they do not come into direct contact with your Corvette.

In our opinion, it is a good idea to install a 'Demand Trickle Charger' and leave it plugged in all winter long. This will keep your Corvette's computer charged and prevent check engine code's in the spring. We have these trickle chargers in stock and ready to install.

DO NOT start the car unless you are going to drive it. Start up is the hardest thing on the engine, especially when the car sits for an extended period of time. Doing it once in the spring is better than many times over the winter. Also, condensation will build up in your exhaust system and begin to rust it out.

In the spring, start it up and let it idle until it is almost warmed up before driving it the first time. Drive it easy for the first couple miles so all the mechanical parts get lubed up and get a good 'workout'.
