21st-Century Learning

What is Web-Hybrid Instruction?

Web-Hybrid courses blend on-campus instruction with web-based instructional

activities.  Students meet on campus and also participate in learning activities and/or

reinforcement activities online.  Web-hybrid courses create flexible learning options while allowing students to meet face-to-face with

instructors and other students.

Why implement Web-Hybrid in High School?

From 2000 to 2008, the percentage of undergraduates enrolled in at least one distance

education class expanded from 8 percent to 20 percent.

59% of those students in 2008 were age 23 or younger.

e-PortfolioThe e-portfolio is a web-based compilation of one’s skills and abilities in Architecture or Engineering.

The e-portfolio is the final exam project for all pathway courses.

“When I sent my resume, I attached a link to my portfolio. They told me later knowing CAD was what put me ahead of

other applicants and was the main factor in hiring me.” -Andy Deane
