The consent was signed by Mary Stowers "Sr" while the marriage bond was signed by bondsmen William "Airy" rSrl and Lewis Stowers and by witness James Taylor. (Delete note * on page 57). Mary rStowersl Arev was still alive on 6 Aug 1857when she was named ("my Mother, Mary Ary") in the will of her son 7(f)William Jr in Greene Co, Oh. A family researcher reports that deeds in Greene Co. Oh show the sale by some of his children of their 1/9 each share of the land of William Arev rSrl (78 acres in Silvercreek Twp, part of the William Crogen Survey #3913). In 1840,William Arey rJrl purchased from his sisters in Greene Co,Oh their shares as heirs of their father: Jabez Lucas & wife Elizabeth rAreYl;John Self & wife Nancy rAreyl; William Mullen & wife Fanny rAreyl; and Reuben Brackney (Brockney) & wife Sarah rAreYl,one witness being their brother John Arv (Deed Bk 27, pp 146, 148). It is possible that Anne, ~, and Duke (aswell as our ancestorMary Stowerswho marriedWilliamArey Sr) were all the children of thewidow Mary [--] Stowers and her possible husband James Stowers who had died before1783. However, James Stowers has not been further identified.
