THE ART OF REMIXING LESSON 1: BEAT MAKING

1. Choose Drums
2. Choose Kit 909 3. Drag Kit 909 into the 1st MIDI column
4. You will see the drum kit
4. Double click on 1st slot to create a blank clip
5. A blank clip will appear
7. Scroll down to find the clap, snare rim and kick
6. Set volume to -6dB, to protect ears
8. Double click to add the beats
9. Click on the arrow to hear your beat 10. Right click to Duplicate the clip four or five times
11. Choose Instruments
12. Choose Analog – Bass- Dual Osc Buzz
13. Drag it to the 2nd MIDI Column, then double click the 1st slot to create a blank clip
14. Scroll down to C1
15. Use mouse to create a bassline
on C1
17. Choose Instruments 18. Choose
Analog – Synth Lead -10 Saws
16. From the menu, use Create – Insert
MIDI track to make a 3rd MIDI column
19. Drag it to the 3rd MIDI column, and double click to
create blank clip
20. Use mouse to create a pattern with C and G
Change octave up or down
You can also use the computer keyboard to play notes
21. You can make your loop longer by changing length
22. You can tidy up your timing by using Menu – Edit - Quantize
23. Choose Samples
24. Choose House-122bpm
25. Drag it to 1st slot of an Audio
track
25 .Click “E” for Envelope
26. Choose Track Volume 27. Use mouse to draw
changes in volume
