9 Ilhas, 1 Geoparque! | 9 Islands, 1 Geopark The Azores Geopark is a non-profit association, with headquarters in Horta, Faial island and established through a public deed on May 19th, 2010. A geopark is the gathering of well defined sites with geological heritage of international significance. It promotes the well-being of the population while maintaining the respect for the environment. The Azores Geopark has a geosites’ network throughout the nine islands and the surrounding seafloor. Its mission is to ensure the geological conservation, environmental education and sustainable development.TRANSCRIPT
