Everyday well-being

Pollution is a major issue that affects us all. Although we are now fairly well aware of outdoor pollution, we are generally less well advised as to indoor air quality.

To ensure the well-being of the whole family, it is therefore vital to make indoor air quality a prime concern!

Did you know? • 16 hours: the amount of time that we spend at home each day on average. • 2/3: the proportion of air that we breathe that is conditioned by the quality

of the air in our homes. • 22,000: the number of breaths that we take each day. • 1 personn / 5: admits to having already felt the effects of indoor air pollution

on their health or on that of their family (asthma, headaches, allergies, etc.).• 150 millions: the number of people in the world who suffer from asthma.

and the eyes.• Infection of the airways.• Skin and respiratory allergies.• Cough and colds.• Asthma.• Tiredness.• Dry skin.

Air your home!

Pollutant concentrations in the home can be reduced by opening the windows to let fresh air in for at least 10 minutes per day, both in winter and summer. It is also necessary to check the ventilation system on a regular basis so as to ensure the general and continuous circulation of fresh air around the home.

Make sure you never leave children alone near an open window or if the room opens out onto a balco-ny. Also, never leave any objects or furniture around that a child could use to climb up to a window.

Make the right choice!

For the well-being of the whole family, it is essential to choose the right products and to take special care with the following products:

• tobacco: it is better to smoke outside.Smoking in another room or opening the window is not sufficient.

• paints: do not expose newborn babies or pregnant women to fresh paint.

• Air fresheners

• Household insecticides and bactericides

Above all, it is essential to follow the use instructions and dosages of household cleaning products.

Taking the right steps against indoor pollution

Be vigilant!

It is important to be attentive to temperature and humidity levels in the rooms of the home, in order to limit the proliferation of moulds and acarians.

Ideal temperature: 18 à 20°C / 64.4°F – 68°F max

Ideal humidity level: 40 – 50%

Our priority: the well-being of baby!

Babies are actively developing, and are the-refore far more sensitive to the quality of their environment than their parents:

• they breathe in and out at a muchhigher frequency

• their respiratory system is still developing

• their immune system is still fragile

It is therefore vital to take special care over the air that baby breathes, in order to pre-vent:

• asthma, bronchitis, and other respiratory problems

• allergies

• colds and otitis

• dry skin

Page 6: The Babymoov's guide to well-being

The air in baby’s room is just as polluted as that of the rest of the home.

Unfortunately, we find traces of outdoor pollutants, in addition to other pollutants specific to enclosed spaces i.e. in walls, furniture, and decora-tive or hygiene products.

We do sometimes have previously held assumptions about internal pollution and baby’s well-being.

Page 7: The Babymoov's guide to well-being

The level of humidity affects the well-being of my baby.

Just like with temperature, humidity levels affect a baby’s well-being, and encourages the proliferation of moulds and acarians. The ideal humidity level is between 40 and 50%.

Babymoov undertakes to ensure the well-being of baby’s room

Babymoov undertakes to ensure the well-being of baby’s room, by ena-bling parents to:

• check temperature and humidity levels using the Thermometer-Hygrometer

• maintain an appropriate level of humidity in a room using the humidifiers

• ensure baby’s well-being while comforting them using the baby room station

High temperatures are good for baby’s comfort.

High temperatures (over 22°C/71.6 °F) encourage the proliferation of moulds and other undesirable organisms such as acarians, which are res-ponsible for a number of allergies. The ideal temperature for a baby’s room is between 18 and 20°C – 64.4 and 68 °F.

I can’t do anything about the pollution in my baby’s room

On the contrary, one very effective action is to change bad habits: air rooms to let in fresh air, reduce or eliminate personal emissions (tobacco, etc.), take care when choosing household cleaning products, check household appliances, etc.
