Best luau ever. What fun. Great food.

Too much food. Really had a great

time. So glad I came. All of these and

more were the comments overheard

after the June luau. Our hosts, Billy and

Helen Clayton, LaVelle Hedrick, and

Janet Smith transformed a large,

unadorned room into a fun, tropical

setting. Helping them were Sherry,

Don, and Eric Galbreath, Steve Petrik,

Marie Parma, and Fred Price.

Entering the room, one questioned, did

we come to dance or eat? The answer,

BOTH! The abundant and varied array

of food made mouths water and

stomachs rumble. Thank goodness for

those calorie burning cha chas, mambos

and sambas. Much better than a

treadmill or weights don’t you think? A

hearty thanks to our wonderful dancing

cooks.

We ate, and ate, and ate!

The 2012 Hula Girls

Gina, Angela, Linda, Dois, Carol

We were treated to not one, but three

new hulas. The 2012 Hula Girls,

Gina Jones, Linda Glass, Doris

Hydrick, Carol Haire, and Angela

Demerath mesmerized us with their

gracefulness – not to mention their

new grass skirts.

As always, many members pitched

in to help clean up. I saw David

and Vivian Martin, Paula and Glen

Golson, and Randall Haire. I’m

sure there were others who helped

whose name I have omitted. I

apologize and want to thank you

as well.

Our club has vacancies. Invite your friends to come and

dance with us.

Remember: No “parking”

anywhere on the dance floor while

the music is playing.

Those who help clean up after each

dance are sincerely appreciated;

however, please do not throw away

tea lights that have gone out. They

are battery operated and we have

extra batteries.

We’re on Facebook. Check out the

pictures of the Luau. If you have

pictures you’d like to share, please

email them to me or Sherry so we

can post them.

Ladies, in consideration of

gentlemen in coat and tie, the

temperature of our dance venue is

relatively cool. Please remember

to bring a wrap.

Volunteering is fun!!!!

Hosts and Hostesses are needed for

2012. Contact Vicki Moses to

make sure you get your favorite

month. (Did you know the club

has a storage room full of

decorations? All you have to do is

set them up)

Music by The George Winter Band

Conga Line

Has anyone seen this guest? It

seems she vanished during the Luau.

Our next dance will be the Saturday

after July 4th

and our theme will be

Celebrate America. You are invited

to wear red, white, and blue if you

wish. Come prepared to have fun

and to expect the unexpected. (Hint:

we have several old fashioned 4th

of

July activities planned.)

Gina, Angela, Linda

Doris, Carol

Billy and friend Linda won the door prize

Rick and Gina

We have learned that Rick and

Gina will be leaving us and

moving to Colorado soon. We will

truly miss Rick’s fun loving spirit

and Gina’s creativity, but wish

them all the best.
