May Recap

The club kicked off the month of May with a solid win against northeast rival Hartford. The match was played at the Irish Cultural Center in Canton, MA, where this years NACB finals will be held.

The month also saw Irish Electric (White) take the first two matches on the club league calendar, beating out North American Equipment Upfitters (Blue) in a well faught match, and Corey Garland Photography (Green) in a rain soaked rout.

In off the pitch news, club trainer Stuart Kremzner, a Team Rubicon volunteer, recently deployed to Faulkner County, AR to provide disaster relief to those effected by the tornadoes in that area. Good man, Stu!

Over Memorial Day weekend, the Boston GAA held a special ceremony to honor the military veteran members of the club. Over a dozen veteran members attended the opening day festivities at the ICC, and met with local officials and foreign dignitaries (pictures below). The event received extensive coverage in area newspapers as well as online.

Finally, the Wolves capped off a tremendously successful month with another great win against Portland, climbing to 2-0 on the season, and setting the stage for a June 7th matchup with Worcester. The match was preceeded by an

opening day ceremony which saw a pair of bag pipers march the teams out onto the field, the singing of the national anthem, and the ceremonial opening throw in by Concord Mayor Jim Bouley.

The Coming Month

As was the case in May, the month of June will be bookended by matches against divisional opponents, with club league action in between.

This weekend will conclude the home portion of the schedule as Worcester visit the Hall St. field on June 7th. On June 22nd, the Wolves travel to Hartford, CT to play their first of three away games this year.

As for club league action, North American Equpiment Upfitters takes on Corey Garland Photography on the 12th, and on the 26th will see a Blue/White rematch.

A Look Ahead

With no other divisional matches scheduled until August, the club league will take center stage in the month of July.

Closing Thoughts I want to reiterate that it's not too late to get involved in hurling! If you or anyone you know is interested in trying it out, the club holds open practice sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at 6PM all season long at the Hall St. Field (see map below).

E3 Sports Performance - Well Designed Training + Motivation = Results

Creating space is what separates good from great athletes. Getting to that ball quicker, or getting a gap on your competitor is what scores or defends points. What develops this ability in an individual athlete varies from person to person. I will assess this then develop a very effective program for you. My goal is long term development. Most athletes I work with have been training with me an average of 4 years. With consistent assessment we learn how your body responds to the training and how your body is adapting. I then keep advancing the program to new phases to achieve more advanced goals and address any bottlenecks in performance.

Rí Rá Irish Pub is an authentic Irish pub located in Market Square in Portsmouth, NH. Rí Rá was built entirely from authentic pub salvage sourced and meticulously restored in Ireland before being shipped to its new home in Portsmouth. Central in the pub is a restored bar from the famous Pulpit Pub in Waterford, itself constructed from salvage dating to the Georgian period. Also of interest from Ireland is the antique paneling from The Bridge House in Cahir, County Tipperary. http://www.rira.com/portsmouth/

Team Rubicon"Bridge the Gap" refers to Team Rubicon's primary mission of providing disaster relief between the moment a disaster happens and the point at which conventional aid organizations respond. The "gap" is primarily time; the crucial window following a disaster when victims have traditionally been without outside aid. When the "Gap" closes - once conventional aid organizations arrive - Team Rubicon moves on. http://teamrubiconusa.org/
