Germany was capable to get their territory back and conquer a lot more, but the Nazis were massively killing on the way. Allied powers intervened in order to stop it, even if it would take them 7 years to do it. WWII is definitely a lesson to everyone after witnessing the horrible genocide of the Jews; about what desperate measures can war lead us humans to do in desperate economic times.
