The Bellringer Amherst PTA Newsletter February 2019 Curriculum Enrichment Update The curriculum enrichment program provides new learning opportunities to our students by enhancing their education through outside programs. These programs are all hand-picked by our wonderful classroom teachers to coordinate live and hands-on experiences for the material the students are studying. This year, the second graders have already enjoyed a Birds of Prey program and the kindergarten and first graders enjoyed the musical stylings of Steve Blunt. We have many more wonderful programs scheduled for this second half of our school year. Students will learn about Farm to Factory, Rocks and Minerals, Forces and Motion, Speed and Sound, and Glaciers and Rivers. The kindergarten and preschoolers will enjoy a marionette show and wildlife encounters. Ten thousand dollars in grants have also been awarded. These grants include enrichment opportunities like the popular Similarity Awareness program in gym. Thank you for your support to make these programs possible. Staff Appreciation Update Thank you to all of the volunteers who sent in fruits, treats, and chocolates last week. The staff at Clark, Wilkins, and AMS were able to enjoy a variety of snacks. The next event that the Staff Appreciation committee will plan is a week full of surprises during Staff Appreciation Week May 6-10th. There will be many chances to show appreciation for all of the fun, smiles, and dedication that our staff show with students each day.
