The Best Christmas
Once upon a time, there was a poor family: the mother,
the father, their two children, a boy and a girl. The boy was 10
years old and the girl was 5 years old. Normally, they spent every
Christmas together, but the parents could not give the children a
lot of gifts, so they bought one gift for both. They really enjoyed
every holiday together. That year, the boy asked his parents to
buy him a play station, but they did not have the money for that.
The little girl asked for a little dog; their parents thought that if
they gave them a dog it would make both kids happy. They found out
that in a pet shop, the owner was offering baby dogs for adoption. It
was December 23rd when they adopted the dog. They
knew that it would be difficult for them to keep the
dog hidden for more than a day, because they
usually opened their gifts early in the morning
of the 25th.
When the parents arrived home, the children were waiting for
them. So the parents had to show them the gift. The little girl was
so happy that she cried. However, the boy was so angry that he did
not want to touch or carry the dog and he went to his room and
slammed the door. The next day, the 24th in the morning, the
parents asked the boy to take the dog outside to walk. He did not
want to, but he did it anyway. While he was walking with the dog,
he stumbled with a rock and he fell on the floor.
His leg got broken and he scratched his arms. The dog was
worried about the boy, so he started looking for help until he
found an old man that was sitting on a chair in the park that across
the street. The dog started to bark and the old man went with it to
see what was going on. When they arrived to the other side of the
street, they saw the child on the floor. The old man took his
cellphone and called someone: “I need you to come here at the
park to pick me up”. In five minutes a new car of the year arrived
and they got into it. It was the old man’s driver. He took them
to the hospital. The old man paid for everything there and the
child was attended very well. The child thanked him but the old
man said: “no, it was not me, it was your little friend who really
helped you.” The boy was so surprised about it; he regreted
everything he thought about the dog and the contempts he made
to it and his parents. When they arrived home, the old man
noticed that they lived in a poor house and when he got home he
had the idea of giving this family a
• Christmas gift. This man was a millionaire, and he always
wanted to help other people. He looked for a new house, not
big, but new and with three rooms. Around 6pm the old man
went to the house of this family and he offered them a new
house and he told the father of the family that he could give
him a job. They were crying of happiness because a new house
was the best gift they had ever received. This day, they spent
the best Christmas Eve ever.
