MORGAN BAPTIST CHURCH

Don’t forget to bring finger foods for our time of fellowship!

Mt. Hebron Baptist Church March 17-20, 6:00 PM Sun.., 7PM Mon.—Wed.

Led by GA Southern University Students Something Worth Getting Excited About!

We have a very busy month of March ahead, beginning with North American Missions Emphasis, ChoirFest, and Children’s Bible Drill. Please take the time to read about these special events elsewhere in this issue of the Bethel News.

A very special event and ministry will take place in our area from March 16-22 (Saturday through Friday). That is the week when we will have a missions team from Georgia Southern University devoting their Spring Break to ministry projects right here in the Bethel Baptist Association: Miss Donna Blackburn, who grew up in the Bethel Association, serves as Baptist Campus Minister at GSU in Statesboro, and she has been looking forward to the day when she could lead a group of Christian college students “on mission” to the area she knows and loves so well.

The students will stay at Mt. Hebron Baptist Church, and we are enlisting churches to help with their different meals. On Sunday morning, March 17th, pairs of students will visit in several of our congregations and share testi-monies in the morning worship service. Then at 6PM on Sunday evening, the students will lead the first of a series of Youth Revival services for all of our middle and high school students. The Youth Revival services are sched-uled to continue through Wednesday evening. (Services will begin at 7PM on Monday through Wednesday eve-nings).

During the day on Monday through Thursday we have a couple of light construction projects lined up for the students—building a storage building on our Freeman Road property and putting up a wheelchair ramp for one of our retired pastors. We also plan to utilize the team for at least one afternoon of neighborhood canvassing for our New Zion Mission church in Blakely.

If your church would like to help by providing a meal for the students (lunch or supper) please get in touch with me right away. There will be 12-15 students on the team. Also, if you would like to have a couple of the students in your church’s morning worship service on the 17th, contact me and we will make arrangements.

I am so pleased that these young Christians are “giving up” their Spring Break to come to the Bethel Association and help us! Let’s make them feel welcome and appreciated as they serve our Lord by serving us. Let’s also en-courage our young people to attend the Youth Revival services at Mr. Hebron, and to bring their lost friends to hear the Gospel in services designed just for them.

The busy month of March wraps up with a ministry outreach at “Peanut Proud” in Blakely on the 23rd (volunteers needed!) and Holy Week activities leading up to Resurrection Sunday on the 31st.

May you all have a blessed and Christ-filled Easter season!
