In this weeks newsletter there is a com- prehensive list of events over the next few weeks. I look forward to the chance to thank our many par- ent helpers at our parent helper morning tea on Tuesday December 9th. Our Diamond club students will be invited with their parents to attend a special afternoon on Mon- day December 15th. I look forward to celebrating with these students and their families their successful year at school. All students will finish school on Wednesday December 17 with Years 1-6 returning on Wednesday January 28th, 2015. Year 6 Gala Day What a great day we had yesterday for our Year 6 Gala Day! The weath- er was perfect for throwing wet sponges at staff. Our students showed great accuracy too! The activities were plentiful, donut eat- ing, lucky dips, pushcart rides, cakes, sausage sizzles, a photo booth and more. Many thanks to Miss Fleming and her Stage 3 team for working closely with the stu- dents from Mount Druitt Tafe to ensure the event ran smoothly. This event is always a great fund raiser for our Year 6 students. Thank you to the many parents, family and friends who joined us for this event. We appreciate your support. Pacific Island Dance Group What a fabulous performance our students gave at Tregear Public School's 9th annual Polynesian day. I was so proud watching our stu- dents on stage. We owe thanks to Julie and Flora from Chifley College, Bidwill, as they provided our stu- dents with dance instructions dur- ing the many rehearsals leading up to the big day. They also attended to support our students during their performance. We stole the show! It was incredible. I would like to thank our families for attending to support the per- formers as well as thank Vavae for dedicating his time to preparing the students for the performance. He has spent many afternoons back at school holding rehearsals. P&C Meeting Our final P&C meeting will be held at 9:10am Tuesday December 2 in the school library. During this meeting we will look at the new behaviour systems for our school. On the next page is a brief explana- tion of the card system and the re- ward system. Stage 3 has found the card system far easier to follow with students having a key role in managing their own behaviour. During this meeting the P&C will plan their major fund raising event for next year. 2015 Student Leaders Congratulations to our Year 5 stu- dents running for leadership roles. Our students Year 2 to Year 6 had the pleasure of listening to our can- didates share their vision for our school, should they be voted into the role of school captain. The speeches were great. Thank you to each candidate for taking the time to prepare for their speech. Best of luck to each of you! PSSA Finals Best of luck to our PSSA teams for tomorrow afternoon’s games. We have 3 teams in the Grand final at Heber park. The girls Softball is at 3.30pm and the boys Tee-ball and Softball games are both at 4.30. Please come and support these teams! Parents are asked if they could take their children to and from the venue and if they can't do this to please con- tact the school. NOTICE TO PARENTS

    REGARDING HEAD LICE Dear Parent

    Unfortunately, we currently have a

Your child could be one of those

    affected.

We are asking all parents to examine

their children for head lice very care-

fully and carry out treatment if nec-

essary. A second treatment may be

    required as re-infestation is always

    possible.

    Thank you for your

On Wednesday 26th of November, Year 6 worked with Mount

Druitt TAFE students to hold a Gala Day for all the students. Stu-

dents were able to participate in a range of activities including a

donut eating competition, basketball shoot out, throw the sponge at

the teacher, a photo booth, footy pass competition and ride the push-

carts. Students could also indulge in delicious food like chicken

wraps, manoush, sausage sandwiches, cakes and soda spiders.

The day was a huge success and all students and staff had a

    wonderful day.

Year 6 would like to thank all the teachers, TAFE volunteers, stu-

dents and parents of our wonderful school community for support-

ing this event. We were able to raise $2000 towards our Year 6

    Farewell.
