The Biggest Lie Farmers Tell Themselves Each

Year

Remember when gasoline used to

be below $2.00 a gallon? (Some

of us can remember $0.30 a

gallon, but we aren’t telling).

Today, it costs twice as much to

fill your tank. The sad truth is, if

you don’t want to sit by the side

of the road, you have to find the

extra money somewhere and that means you have less money

for other purchases.

The cost of fertilizer is going in the same direction. Chances are,

of course, that you have already experienced that “in the belly”

worry about how much more money fertilizer costs. You are

dependent on fertilizer and you have no control over the price.

Like the gasoline you need to run your cars and trucks, you

probably think you don’t have any choices.

Here is a secret. You are lying to yourself if you think that

spending more money on fertilizer each year is the solution.

Increased costs mean you make less money. I bet you will agree

that is a trend that’s definitely not going in the right direction.

Wouldn’t it be great if you could spend less money, and have

better crop yields? Would you like to improve the quality of your

soil and reduce your need for irrigation? Of course your answer is

yes (see, we already know you a little).

Humus Compost is your solution.

You can break free from being the victim of out-of-control

fertilizer costs. The farmers we work with have seen a $100 an

acre improvement (or more) in their bottom line. So by using

humus, you make more money and and gain more independence

– does it get any better than that?

And, there even more benefits to using humus compost,

including:

• You will need fewer pesticides and less fertilizer

• The quality of your soil will improve

• Less water is needed to grow a better quality product

It won’t happen overnight. Transitioning from chemical nitrogen

to humified compost happens gradually. The indigenous nitrogen-

fixing bacteria in the soil need to adapt, and that takes time.

But once it does happen, the benefits are huge. Every day you

move closer to humified compost means you are that much closer

to no longer being the victim of rising fertilizer costs. We have

heard some farmers report increased yields of 10% or more. That

means a higher profit for you.

Break the cycle. Learn how you can increase the quality of your

product, reduce insect infestation, disease and weed pressure.
