Dear DIA Families:
Welcome Back to School! We are excited about the 2017-2108 school year! We look
forward to continuing with the new D51 Learning Model, where student-centered learn-
ing, growth mindset and the mastery of the curriculum standards drives our instruction-
al practices. This year we are incorporating student goal setting and helping students
articulate their individual learning strengths and needs. Students will also be learning
more about their own and others’ social/emotional qualities. The most exciting part is,
at DIA, we do it in two languages!
In November, we will begin our Family Nights (PAWS/HUELLAS). We hope to see all of
our families join us to learn more about the new D51 Learning Model, academic support
in Math and Literacy, and how to better support your child(ren) in a variety of ways.
Check out some the other activities we have at DIA, like Junior Lego League, Music
Spark Orchestra, Girls on the Run, Seal of Biliteracy, PTA, PURR Ambassadors, Student
Council, Music Concerts, Art Heritage and Fieldtrips etc. You can volunteer for any or all
other these events and become an active member of our school community!
Sincerely,
Monica Heptner

Queridas familias de DIA,
¡Bienvenidos de regreso a la escuela! ¡Estamos emocionados por este nuevo año
escolar 2017-2018!
Sinceramente,
Monica Heptner
