Welcome to 2018 Yang Earth Dog (Wu Xu). Although the forecast below may appear a little

depressing, please keep in mind that we, at The Feng Shui Store, have a responsibility to let you

know precisely (the good and the not so good) what the year holds for you. Where there's a Yang,

there has to be a Yin! When you’re aware of the worst possible outcome from a situation you’re then

empowered to take action to reduce any negative impact.

We don't like to read anything that leaves us without a solution to a problem, and we certainly don't

want to provide advice to you without the appropriate solution. Our goal is to inform and then give you

alternatives and solutions to correct any imbalance so that you can start 2018 informed, confident and

able to tackle any issues or dilemma's as and when they appear during the year. Nothing is ever

stagnant; changes occur in and around us every millisecond of the day and how you deal with what

life presents and throws at you can alter the course of your life and circumstances either directly or

indirectly.

We're informing you of possible misfortunes. Some will be personal and related to you, and your

On the 4th February 2018, we will have the #9 purple star (You Bi Xin) visit the central earth palace

(heaven heart) as it did in 2017. While #9 star is an auspicious star, when visiting the central palace, it

can cause disasters relating to water and fire, such as earthquakes, volcano's landslides, and floods.

We forecasted this for 2017 with 100% accuracy and, based on our predictions, thousands of our

clients prepared for the year of the Rooster and were able to enjoy a great year.

I'm putting my head on the block this year, as I've done many times in the past, by predicting that, with

a #9 star and central palace #5 combination we could see world markets fall, or at least correct

themselves, in 2018. However, there should be a recovery reasonably fast towards the end of the

year.

The year may also bring many troubles throughout the world, in particular in Middle Eastern and

Asian countries. Having weak leaders could also compound any issues. 2018 may be a year of

hardship, but you can avoid many problems by following the Feng Shui advice on these pages. Doing

so will enable you to prepare for the year ahead, prevent problems and ensure a successful 2018.

We've been making these predictions for 19 years with staggering accuracy, and the cures and

enhancers have been the way to secure an enjoyable year.

The upshot for everyone is to be financially cautious during 2018. Make sure you place your cures

and enhancers on the 4th February. You'll then be able to lessen the adverse effects of the global

economy and turn a potentially bad year into a good one. I know this could be a contentious point for

many, but I'd love to see some corrections with house prices. House prices at present are far too high

for my grandchildren to step up on the property ladder.

year; in particular family and relationships. For maximum benefit and enjoyment, activate your south

and southeast sectors of your home by following the advice below. Remember, there is much we can

do to ensure the best year possible; we alert you to the possible upcoming misfortunes for the year

and provide solutions with where and how to place your cures and enhancers.

For example, those born in the year of the Dragon may be affected by the conflicting influences of the

year of the Yang Earth Dog Wu Xu.

The forecast for the Dragon may be inauspicious, but please remember this is only one small

influence in the big scheme of things. You can expect a good year despite this by regularly checking

the annual and monthly flying star forecast regarding the energies of the space you occupy in your

home and office. Stay informed and you'll be able to avoid or reduce predicaments.

I've done thousands of consultations over the years, and every home is different with its positive and

negative attributes. These change each year with the flying star influences. If you know where the

weaknesses are in your home, you'll then be able to correct this with the annual cures and enhancers

to improve the quality of Qi and restore some balance back into the house.

For example; let's look at a home with a bedroom in the north or west and the effects of this during

2018. The problems with this configuration could be related to finances, any bad luck, problematic

relationships, chest and stomach issues and also depression. However, by placing the annual cures

and enhancers you can eliminate or reduce these problems. If you are, or were a smoker, and already

have breathing and chest problems then the cures and enhancers could certainly reduce

Those born in the year of the Dragon could be affected by the conflicting influences of the year of the Yang Earth Dog in 2018 as the Dragon is the conflict animal of the Dog. Those born in the year of the Dragon should be aware of potential difficulties they may encounter during the year and take extra care in whatever they do without taking unnecessary risks in all aspects of their life. noted that there are five different types of each Chinese Animal (fire, water, wood, earth, metal) which depends on the year you were born and each different animal will have different predictions for the year ahead; you can find out more about this in our 2018 Feng Shui guide.

For example: Metal Rabbit: 1951 Water Rabbit: 1963 Wood Rabbit: 1919, 1975 Fire Rabbit: 1927, 1987 Earth Rabbit: 1939, 1999

The degree of this influence varies from one person to another. One of the major considerations is the heavenly stem of the year in which one was born so if you were born in 1927 or 1987 which would be a Fire Rabbit, the year will not be bad at all.

With regards to Xuan Kong Flying stars, we have the #8 white wealth star enter the southeast in February 4th 2018 and this is the governing wealth star for period 8 (2004 – 2024) although we have Sui Po in the southeast for the year which can cause wealth and career problems and overall bad luck so it is very important to read the advice below and place the relevant cures and enhancers in the southeast in order to avoid problems and enhance wealth luck for the year. It is recommended that you place a jiebaopinchuan Master Cure along with a Cai Leishui hanging crystal talisman in the southeast during 2018 to protect and enhance wealth. You should also place a salt water cure, six Chinese coins tied with red ribbon in the west and north at the least as these are essential cures for the annual #5 and #2 inauspicious Flying stars for 2018. All of the cures and enhancers I have mentioned are from our 2018 Cures and enhancers kits although we do recommend alternatives for every area of your home as we like to offer as much advice as possible.

I mentioned the #2 black and #5 yellow star very briefly above and will go in to a little more detail about them now as these are important stars to treat as they can bring lots of problems if left alone without cures and enhancers.

Where is the #2 star located in 2018?

The #2 black star is located in the west in 2018 and can bring illness to the occupants of the home this year if not treated carefully. The traditional method to dissolve the #2 star is to hang a row of 6 metal I-Ching Chinese coins in the west for the year; wherever you get the 6 coins in a row from, please make sure they are from a good dynasty as a lot of stores overlook this important fact and go for the cheapest option which can cause more bad than good. It is also important to place a salt water cure in the west during 2018 and again, please make sure the coins are from a good dynasty. In our Cures and Enhancers kit for 2018, we have included the salt water cure and six coins along with a Guanshiyin protection bell to treat the west for the year.

Where is the #5 star located in 2018?

The #5 yellow star is located in the north in 2018 and is an extremely unstable star. It has no gender and no trigram and is highly treacherous when disturbed. When disturbed, its malicious influence brings tragedy, sickness, lawsuits and major loss of wealth. During 2018, we also have the Three killings present in the north so it is crucial that you do not have loud noise in the north in 2018 and do not break the ground by digging holes, digging foundations or conduct any maintenance work with any noisy equipment in this area inside or outside your property or garden. It is important to place a set of 6 coins in a row along with a salt water cure in the north in 2018 to weaken the malevolent effects of the annual #5 star. Where are the worst flying stars in 2018?

The layout of the Flying star for the year has both positive and negative influences in different areas during 2018 and it is important that we treat the negative stars and enhance the positive ones with the Annual Cures and enhancers throughout the year of the Dog. The palaces to be aware of in your home or office during 2018 are the east, west, northeast, north and northwest. 2018 is a tricky year as we have the northeast, north and northwest with bad stars which in a north facing home would cause the whole front of the home to be affected by negative annual stars which in my home is the spare bedroom and kitchen which is not as bad as it could be as these rooms are not used as much as a master bedroom or living room; it is important to note that the effects of the negative stars will be dependent on which room they fall in. along with a few alcoholic drinks and think that by taking a multivitamin, they will stay in perfect health and not put any weight on, they are very much mistaken although I know that you don’t need me to tell you that.

By no means am I trying to convince you that my body is a temple and I do not touch any takeaways; I will be the first to say yes if someone suggests a Thai red curry on a night out although I will continue trying to maintain a good balance with diet and exercise. I will admit that I write this every year and I am still not eating as healthy as I should although I do keep taking little steps in the right direction and am semi regular in the gym; it’s definitely a marathon rather than a sprint.

I can almost guarantee that you will face some manner of problems during the year of the Dog the same as I probably will. Feng Shui is not about working towards a totally problem free life otherwise you would not have any Feng Shui Masters because they would all be rich with a huge house and luxurious lifestyle; Feng Shui is the practise of enhancing the good aspects in your life and suppressing the bad aspects to create an enjoyable life and avoid problems that could potentially come your way without the help of Feng Shui. placing just the Feng Shui cures and enhancers on their own will help immensely but you should also make lifestyle changes. Finances are going to require care again this year and if you think that you can place the cures on a Monday and then go and purchase a brand-new Range Rover on the Tuesday, you are likely mistaken; Feng Shui cures work to protect, dissipate and enhance areas of your life.

How do I prepare for Chinese New Year 2018?

What should I do if I have last year’s Cures and Enhancers kit?

I come across websites every year stating that you need to throw away or bury your old cures and enhancers such as your wind chime, Pi Yao, Wealth Ingot, Buddha and every other cure that you have placed the previous year due to the fact that they store so much negative energy. Although this is true that your Cures and Enhancers store a lot of negative energy, it is not true that you need to throw away or bury your old Cures and Enhancers. Although some cures such as the Salt Water cure and Six coins should be replaced after every Chinese New Year, most Cures can be cleansed and placed back in their appropriate compass sector. To find out which of your Cures and Enhancers need to be replaced, I would search them in the store and read the advice as we state what can be reused and what should be renewed. Personally, I replace most of my Cures and Enhancers every year apart from certain cures such as my brass Wu Lou and my Three immortals statues (I bought these in Bangkok many years ago and they’re too beautiful to throw away). The reason I replace my cures each year is mainly due to the fact that I can walk in to the warehouse that has thousands of each product and pick out what I need. We change our wind chime and Pi Yao every year, the salt water cure we change without fail each year and I must admit that the six Chinese coins tied in a row with red ribbon is always changed and our Ba Gua mirror yearly as these are very bad to keep for too long and the reason why we will never sell plastic or metal Ba Gua mirrors as they do not age and store so much negative energy and will cause you many problems. You must never use a plastic or metal ba gua (pa kua). Certain Feng Shui Cures and Enhancers could last you a lifetime although there are some Cures and Enhancers that simply must be replaced every Chinese New Year. Last year, we had someone contact us asking for advice for placement for a box of Cures that had been passed down to them from a relative and it turned out that they actually came from our shop and we always advise to pass Cures down to future generations as long as they have been cleansed.

To cleanse your Cures and Enhancers, you should ideally place them outside under a full moon overnight or in direct sunlight for at least 4 hours and sprinkle with rock salt although you can also use normal salt. Make sure you rinse all of the cures and enhancers under water (don’t forget to dry them) in the morning and they should then be placed in the appropriate areas as detailed below. All of our Cures and Enhancers are cleansed of negative energy and empowered with positive Sheng Ch’I when we first receive them and also when they are sent out which makes them much more powerful.

I would recommend that even if you have our cures and enhancers kit from nineteen years ago, you can still carry on using the majority of it but please ensure that the following items are replaced annually as these hold a great deal of negative energy and can cause problems if kept for too long. We get a lot of phone calls and emails asking about throwing away cures due to damage; I would recommend throwing a cure away if it is chipped on part of the min part of the cure such as a head or hand. I would not worry If there is just a small chip on the corner of a Fu Dog or something similar. Please never throw your Wu Lou or wealth ingot away as these are specially made for us and are the correct weight and size and I think they are a work of art and extremely powerful; I tend to get some metal polish every few years and go over my Wu Lou’s and wealth ingots with a toothbrush to bring them back to their original shine before I cleanse them.

What can I do if I cannot afford to purchase these cures or enhancers this year

and/or my partner does not believe in Feng Shui?

Usually, the first thing that some thinks when they first hear about Feng Shui is that their home is going to have to look like a Chinese restaurant and cover their home in waving cats and large dragons covering half their wall to obtain Good Feng Shui which is certainly not the case and is a very common misconception. A lot of people also think that Feng Shui Is a religion and goes against their current beliefs; Feng Shui is more a way of life that helps to make the most of any situation rather than a religion. If you don’t want to have a Wu Lou beside your bed or six Chinese coins in a row in the west or north for 2018, there is always another option such as placing it out of sight in a cupboard or behind a picture frame; the cures will not be as effective although they will still they are most effective when they are clearly on show but can still be placed out of sight. We actually have a lot of clients who place their 6 coins in a row behind a picture frame if they do not want it on display and if you do not wish to have them out for everyone to see, you can place them wherever you wish.

You should use some good quality heavy metal ornaments in the south and northwest of your home or office this year during which should be round shapes as this represents metal but avoid menacing looking ornaments like metal knives or similar or anything that is aggressive looking with sharp corners; the easiest and most discreet option for this is to place gym dumbbells somewhere in the west and north in 2018. Although it’s always better to have your Cures and enhancers on display, I have many clients who place their 6 Chinese Coins tied in red ribbon behind a photo on the wall or the salt water cure in a cupboard and still get tremendous results for the year.

If you do not want to place a salt water cure or cannot afford to do so in the west and north in 2018, an alternative to this is a bowl of ultra clean, still water and while this is not as noticeable, it is a lot more discreet and is also a free option. Please ensure that the water is checked daily and does not get stagnant or get covered in dust as this can cause a lot of problems in your home or office. I do not always like to recommend using a bowl because they can get dirty especially if you live in a hot country and can cause many problems, so please be careful with this if you do not use the salt cure.

You should try to place some real quartz crystal in the southeast and southwest where the #6 and #8 annual stars are located from the 4th February 2018 or objects that are made of earth material and try to keep any objects placed in the southeast or southwest square in shape as this will enhance the annual stars during the year of the Dog and strengthen wealth and luck in your home or office during 2018. So, what exactly is flying star (Xuan Kong) Feng Shui?

Flying star (Xuan Kong) Feng Shui is the most powerful form of Feng Shui that is used by most professional Practitioners and although you may think so, it has absolutely nothing to do with astrology. HOW TO FIND THE 2018 COMPASS SECTORS WITHIN YOUR HOME OR OFFICE

When trying to find the compass sectors in your home or office, the first thing that you will need possession of is a floor plan! The best option is to have an original copy of the floor plan of your home from the architect or estate agent although you can still get an accurate idea of the boundaries in the building. Please make sure that if you draw the floor plan yourself that it is more or less to scale. If you are hesitant of drawing the floor plan yourself, try measuring the outside walls and scale this down accordingly; if you Google search “scale drawing calculator”, you will find some great websites to help with this. If you have our Feng Shui Software, you can actually do your own floor plan within the software which makes it very easy.

Secondly, you are going to have to divide your floor plan into 9 equal grids in the shape of a tic tac toe board or wedges in equal proportions as shown below. Next, you need to know the compass direction of your home or office. If you do not know how to take a compass reading, please visit this page.

After you have taken your compass readings; you will have a good idea which area falls in to which direction and you can then overlay the year’s Lo Shu grid (annual stars) according to the eight magnetic directions and plan how to make the most of the year of the Dog; If you already know the fixed Flying Stars for your home or office, you can check how the annual stars coincide with them. So, in 2018, you will see from the floor plan below that the #5 star falls into the north area for this home, which in the majority of homes will fall in to either a bedroom, kitchen, study or living room and could cause problems if you do not place any cures. The Three Killings – north (322.5 - 37.5)

It is important that you try not to make any form of noisy renovations or re-decorative work in the north part of your house or office between February 4th 2018 and February 4th 2019 as we have both the Three Killings located in the north but we also have the annual 5 yellow here for the year. You should not disturb the ground by digging holes, digging foundations or conduct any maintenance work with any noisy equipment in this area inside or outside your property or garden. If you have no option but to perform work in the north, I would advise that you place a 6 Metal rod wind chime in the north during 2018 around the time the work is being carried out. This is the worst out of all the annual afflictions and in our home and business we take this very seriously as in our 37 years’ experience with Feng Shui, we have seen some pretty nasty events from this energy when disturbed and this is usually the reason of the problem when people trace back the Flying stars for their home when problems occur.

There are also another two other rules that you should follow regarding the Three Killings in 2018. Firstly, if you are moving your desk around this year, never sit with your back towards the north, it is better to face north instead.

• Do not sit with your back to the three killings in 2o18

• Sit facing the three killings (north)

• Try to keep noise to a minimum in the north in 2018

If the front door of your home or office faces the north in 2018, you should take care as to not slam the door as the Three Killings can be a lot more settled if the door is opened and shut calmly; this also applies to internal doors and definitely the case if the north of your home is a children’s bedroom or play room. The best cures for the north in 2018 are to place a six rod hollow metal wind chime along with a salt water cure and six Chinese i-ching coins in a row from the 4th February 2018 to the 4th February 2019. Tai Sui (The Grand Duke of Jupiter) - northwest (292.5º - 307.5º)

Like the Three Killings, Tai Sui does not like to be disturbed either. The effects of Tai Sui can be good

or bad depending on the annual flying stars that coincide with its location and in 2018, we also have

the visiting Kan 1 White Kan (Tang Lang) water star in the northwest which can cause problems for

the middle son and it could affect ears, kidneys or blood related. If you have any poison arrows like

lamp post, pylons or large comers of house’s pointing toward this area consider hanging a flat ba gua

mirror outside pointing towards the offending object.

If your property or front door faces northwest in 2018, you must try to avoid the doors from slamming

when entering or leaving your home or office as this will almost certainly disturb Tai Sui and cause

problems for the members of the home or office. You should avoid digging or renovating your property

in this area at all costs in 2018 if possible. If you have an office or shop door in the northwest this

year, I would strongly recommend installing a soft close attachment if possible and if you have

children in your home, try to keep these doors from being slammed. Laura’s daughter has her

bedroom located in the northwest although they are quite lucky as she is only two and a half years old

and spends the majority of her time in the living room when she is playing. The traditional Chinese

method to appease Tai Sui is to place a Jiang Wu Tai Sui gold plated plaque for 2018 to pay respect

and appease the Deity along with an Arowana fish sitting on bed of coins to enhance the annual #1

star. By paying respect to Grand Duke of Jupiter, we can weaken or avoid the problems that this can

bring. This is really important this year and we have included the Jiang Wu Tai Sui plaque in all our

annual cures and enhancers kits. In 2018, the ruling Tai Sui is great general Jiang Wu who is one of

60 heavenly generals. The Tai Sui plaque is plated in gold to represent wealth and was specially

made for 2018, year of the Yang Earth Dog to be placed in the northwest. The slate plaquard stand is

used to represent earth which creates a cycle of earth feeding Metal which in turn enhances the #1

annual water sta to enhance wealth in the northwest in the year of the Dog.

Sui Po (Year Breaker) - southeast (112.5º - 127.5º)

Sui Po year breaker occupies the division directly opposite Tai Sui Grand Duke, which for 2018 is in the southeast as we have Tai Sui located in the northwest for the year of the Yang Earth Dog. You should treat this area the same as any of the other annual afflictions with no ground-breaking work, renovations or any noisy activities in the southeast this year. If disturbed, this area can and usually will cause immediate health problems especially with regards to the elderly, so please be very careful. Traditionally to appease Sui Po in a Dog year, you would need to display a Jiebaopinchuan Master Cure and Cai Leishui crystal talisman which we have included in all of our 2018 Cures and Enhancers kits.

If you have to carry out work or emergency repairs in the southeast, place a 6 Metal rod wind chime between the buildings and where the work is being carried out and ideally you should contact a professional Feng Shui Practitioner to select an auspicious date to start the work or consult our Tong Shu date selection software.

The annual five yellow star - north (337.5 - 22.5)

The annual five yellow star has flown to the south in 2018 along with the Three Killings so it is vital that the north is looked after this year with the appropriate cures and enhancers. As we have the Annual #5 yellow enter the north in 2018, we have the inherent water energy of the north destroying the visiting energy of the #5 earth star which will weaken the influence of the annual #5 slightly although please do not leave this area untreated as there could still be problems such as sickness, lawsuits and major loss of wealth so it is vital that the north has as much protection as possible as we also have the Three Killings located here for 2018. It is highly recommended not to disturb the north of your home or business with noisy activities, renovations or maintenance work. When disturbed, the Five Yellow can bring disaster, sickness, lawsuit and major loss of wealth so please be very careful in the north in 2018 as it is very afflicted. You must place Six Chinese i-ching coins in a row , a six rod hollow metal wind chime and a salt water cure in the north to avoid the problems that are associated the #5 yellow disaster star in 2018.

Water placement in 2018:

As we entered period 8 (4th February 2004) the use of water outside is critical up until 2024, a pond/water feature positioned outside in the correct area can really work in your favour although you should not site a pond/water feature unless advised by professional Feng Shui consultant, you can however, safely place water outside in the southwest up until 2024.

Outside water placement in 2018:

Outside water can be placed in the southwest or east as this is your primary and secondary wealth areas for the next twelve years. In 2018 water outside in the southeast is good but please only do so if you know what your natal chart (flying star chart), are confident that you understand your land formations and you also have a good facing star this would make a very powerful combination for wealth. Indoor water placement for 2018:

If you have to use indoor water the best area is in the southeast as this activates the auspicious #8 star for 2018. Regardless though it is better to seek professional advice before placing any water feature inside or out as in Feng Shui it is the catalyst to good and bad so please take care and consult or use our software.

If you decide to use water inside your home or around the outside during 2018, it is vital that you make sure that you keep the water clean at all times and is flowing water as this is very different from using stagnant water. Do not let the water stagnate as this can cause Qi to become Yin energy which can stop positive Qi entering the home or office. Using water in Feng Shui is a very powerful tool and is the essence of Feng Shui (Shui meaning water). The Qi around the home or office is caught by the water and is then cleansed and distributed around the building provided the water is clean and flowing. Salt water cure after just 4 weeks.

We receive thousands of emails every year with wonderful testimonials about the Salt water cure and how it has changed the energy in the home or office for the better and it is always wonderful to hear peoples words. The Salt Water Cure is an extremely powerful and little-known cure and one that we

have used in our home, warehouse and office for over twenty years. We replace the Salt Water Cures at least once a year and sometimes they need to be replaced within a few months as they remove so much negative energy from the surrounding area. You should place the Salt Water Cure in the north and west of your home and office from the 4th February 2018. Please do not try to reuse the coins from last year’s cure as they should be replaced when setting up a new cure.

When dealing with the flying stars, there are many exceptions to be made; for example, If you have an annual #5 in a living room in an open plan house or an open office, the energy from the #5 yellow’s presence can drift in to another part of the home or office so it is always best to treat the negative areas rather than take an out of sight, out of mind approach. Think off the annual stars such as the #5 as perfume; if you sprayed some perfume in your bedroom, you will probably be able to smell it downstairs as the smell drifts around the building. If possible, it is always preferable to avoid rooms with negative stars although I would still recommend placing an implementing the necessary Cures and Enhancers for 2018.

How do I dispose of my old salt water cure?

A general rule of thumb where the Salt Water Cure is concerned is to replace it when the Annual Flying stars change so at least once a year. I personally change my cure when the salt forms a few mm below the rim of the glass as this is a sign that the cure is absorbing the negative energy around the area. Once your Salt Water Cure is placed, you should not move it until you decide to dispose of it as disturbing it could release the negative Qi that the cure accumulates. When you come to remove your Salt Water Cure, you should carefully place the whole thing (salt, water, glass and coins) in to a Tupperware type container or water tight plastic bag inside a cardboard box and dispose of it in a recycling bin straight away. If you do not have a Tupperware tub to dispose of the salt water cure, you can carefully pour the water down an outside drain although I do not like to recommend this and this is more of a last option scenario. Please do not try to recycle your salt water cure as it really is not worth the risk. We try to keep our salt water cures as cheap as possible so that they are available to the majority and all of the coins we use come from a good dynasty making them even more effective.

Annual Flying Stars for 2018, year of the Yang Earth Dog (Wu Xu)

The analysis of the annual flying stars can only be conducted from a general point of view offering indications as to the potential influences of the stars in the respective palaces for the year of the Dog.
