1. Advertising in THE BRENT MAGAZINE (TBM)

1.1. All adverts or inserts must be designed by Brent Design Team or by a professional design company

1.2. TBM reserves the right, at any time, to cancel any advertising order without stating the reason for doing so. This includes, but is not limited to, adverts deemed inappropriate, unprofessionally designed or political

1.3. No liability will be accepted for delays in distributing TBM, neither will delays be accepted as breach of contract

1.4. Orders for adverts specifying positions, editorial adjacencies or other requirements are at TBM’s sole discretion

1.5. The copyright of any ad created for TBM, by Brent Design Team, is owned

by Brent Council

1.6. The Advertiser (or booking agent) agrees to be liable for the payment of all charges incurred

1.7. Brent Council does not pay advertising commission for adverts booked by agencies

1.8. All adverts must be paid for in advance

1.9. Thirty days notice will be given of any rate change. All post or pre-booked ads will then be charged at that rate

1.10. TBM does not accept paid-for editorial. Advertorials may be accepted, provided they are clearly labelled as such.

2. Inserts2.1. Accepting inserts is at TBM’s discretion; any deemed unsuitable in terms of content or quality will not be accepted.

2.2. Before the insert booking is finalised, a hard copy of the insert must be submitted to TBM, one month in advance.

2.3. Any additional charges incurred by TBM arising from the insert will be paid for

by the Advertiser.

2.4. The insert must comply with the printers Insert specifications (separate document supplied).

3. Additional terms and specifications for external design companies3.1. TBM is in full colour

3.2. TBM reserves the right to redesign or amend copy at the client’s expense to ensure TBM’s standards are maintained.

3.3. Adverts can be submitted in the following formats: Apple Macintosh, using Quark Xpress versions 4.1 (or other agreed format), as high resolution PDF, eps, tiff or jpeg files.

Full page - Trim Size: 270mm high x 210mm wide, Copy Area: 241mm high x 182mm wide, Bleed: 3mm bleed. Half Page - 118mm high x 182mm wide. Quarter page - 118mm high x 89.5mm wide. Eighth page - 57mm high x 89.5mm wide.

4. Cancellation4.1. Should TBM agree to cancel an existing work order, the Advertiser will be responsible for the cost of any work performed or costs incurred by TBM in addition to the following cancellation rates:

• 5-7 weeks before publication date: 75% of total cost of advert

• Less than 5 weeks before publication date: 100% of total cost of advert

5. Equalities and Advertising5.1. Advertising should be in plain English.

5.2. TBM is produced in large print and audio.
