FROM THE DESK OF DONNA

The park looks amazing dressed in its Holiday finery. This is a busy time of year! Finance and Budget meetings, Board Meeting, Committee meetings, volunteers landscaping, decorating and just working together. As I walk along the streets or drive my golf cart, I love visiting with you all. The other night as I walked with a Vendor it was so nice to see neighbors together sharing good times. This is Briny~ Such a special place.

Please remember that you MUST remove your shutters or raise them, when you are in residence. You must pick up guest badges, parking passes and please let us know when you are back at the Brine.

We ask for your consideration of your fellow neighbors. Please pick up after your dogs, I received pictures of two dogs doing their business this week and the owner who did not pick up. Do not put your trash/ garbage in other people’s bins. Especially do not put your garbage into the bath house. Speaking of dogs, you must also bring in your updated vet records and licenses. If you are in a NO PET area the office must have your paperwork if the animal is an Assistance/Emotional Support Animal. Have a happy week in Briny Paradise! The Annual Boynton Beach Boat Parade Briny has a front row seat to the annual holiday Boat Parade each year. This year’s parade is scheduled for next Friday night December 13, 2019. The Marines will be collecting Toys for Tots and they can be called over to gather unwrapped toys by using a flash light to motion them towards the safe area to be picked up. PARKING be sure that you pick up guest parking passes in the office for the Boat Parade. You must give the name of your guest/s in order to pick one up. I would like to encourage anyone expecting to have guests to get them to consolidate their cars. As you all know parking is limited at Briny. Tickets will be given for anyone parking without a proper parking pass. AMAZON DELIVERIES As the season begins the packages coming to the office is increasing. Something new is that AMAZON is no longer using the US Postal Service for deliveries. You will see the new grey AMAZON mini vans coming to Briny. WHEN ORDERING FROM AMAZON PLEASE ADD YOUR UNIT NUMBER WITH STREET NAME TO YOUR DELIVERY ADDRESS. Amazon is instructed to deliver to your door. For Example: “Jane and Jon Doe Z121 Zebra Lane Briny Breezes, FL 33435”. Amazon is delivering 7 days per week and there are so many different drivers at this early stage of their delivery operation. AMAZON does not have access to our mail drop off on weekends and Briny is confusing. The same goes for any FedEx packages they come after hours and on weekends so using you unit number and Street name will help you get your packages on time.

NEWS FROM BRINY BREEZES OFFICE ORIENTATION to BRINY ☺ Calling all recently (within the last 12-18 months) approved shareholders and newly approved residents (family resident guests, renters)- it is time for Orientation. Get your Parking Passes and Car Decals As you return to Briny for the season, be sure to get your 2020 parking passes and decals for your vehicles. The office is issuing all new parking decals to everyone. You will need to come into the office, bring your registration and you will receive a new decal. Also remember to bring in your proof of insurance for your golf carts while you are at it!

Tie Down Program Update DEADLINE TO SIGN UP FOR THE TIE DOWN PROGRAM IS FRIDAY, JANUARY 3rd. If you haven’t signed up yet, this is the last chance to have your unit done. The forms are on the Briny Breezes web site or in the Briny Office. Please sign both forms and return them via email to: [email protected] or to the Briny Breezes Office. If you have questions about the program, you can call the office or call Sue Thaler at 703-201-8087 or

write [email protected]. NEWS FROM THE TOWN South Florida Water Management District wants you to be familiar with the Year-Round Landscape Irrigation Rule if you have an irrigation system on your lot. This rule limits landscape watering by an irrigation system to three days a week throughout Palm Beach County. No lawn and landscape irrigation should be done between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. or at any time on Fridays. If your unit number ends in an odd number (1, 3, 5, 7, 9), do your watering on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday. If your unit number ends in an even number (2, 4, 6, 8, 0), do your watering on Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday.

Page 6: The Briny Bugle Week of December 13 -20, 2019

6

New plantings may be watered for the first 30 days every day before 10 a.m. or after 4:00 p.m. except Friday. No irrigation watering is allowed on Fridays. Watering your plantings by hand with a container or a hose with an automatic shut-off nozzle is allowed anytime. During rainy season, don’t water on days that it rains. If you have any questions, call the South Florida Water Management District “Water Conservation Hotline” at 1-800-662-8876. SOS-DUNES (Save Our Sand-Dunes)

Stay off the dunes and DO NOT cross over the wall or trample dune plants. ALWAYS use one of the 5 paths. IF you see someone walk over the wall – please politely remind them to use the dune paths. LANDSCAPE & BEAUTIFICATION Welcome back to our Great Community by the Sea. Many of you have recognized that the park has a much-improved look due to the efforts by our new Landscaping Team and a constant program of care and improvement by Andy and the Maintenance Staff. Gabe has asked that anyone who is removing/replacing plantings contact the office so that he can collect discarded, desirable plants and repurpose them or the cuttings to locations around the park. This effort will reduce the amounts that Briny spends on maintaining the various planting areas and add to the diversity of gardens. On another note, we are still experiencing vandalizing of landscaping around the park. If you notice something out of place, please contact the office so that it can be addressed. CHURCH NEWS Christmas is almost here. What a wonderful time of the year! We all are truly Blessed to be able to live here in Briny! First, we would like to thank Stan Brunell for all he does to help with the TV broadcast each Sunday. Without him, it would not be possible. Again, many thanks Stan! This past Sunday, Re. Jeff Snodgrass was pastor for the service and brought God’s message. Rev. Snodgrass spoke on “The Genealogy of Jesus”. He reminded us that Jesus is royalty. He is our King. It was a wonderful message. Paul Ruopp sang “I Wonder as I Wander”. Paul sings from his heart and we thank him for that. This Sunday Rev. Ray Brower will bring us God’s message. If you would like to give flowers in memory or in honor of a loved one or friend, please call Betty Foland at 315-676-7413. The service is interdenominational, and we meet each Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the auditorium. All are invited to worship God in your own way and He will Bless you in His Way ~~ Betty Foland 315-676-7413 BBC-8 will broadcast the church service at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday and will continuously repeat the service starting at noon.
