Appendix
This is a list of all the limited companies formed in Great Britain between 1906 and 1914 that were involved in the field of film exhibition, plus
archival references for company documents containing information about their finances and shareholders. The listings are in chronological order
of registration, though private and public companies for each year are listed separately, as are Scottish companies. All of these documents were
used to generate figures about company directors and capital subscription levels tabulated and discussed in Chapter Two (Fig. 2, Fig. 3, Fig. 4;
pp. 17-27, 36-37, 39-43, 49-50), and the figures for company mortgages and mortality rates tabulated in Chapter Four (Fig. 1, Fig. 2, Fig. 3).
Registration documents and annual returns for companies preceded by the following symbols were also used to compile certain other forms of
data: * Used to generate company shareholder data discussed in Chapter Two (pp. 25, 45-49).
