Do you have a group of three or more people
who would like to share time and work
together as a group?
Sunday Couples This group is organized to promote husbands and wives or significant
others or just friends (man and woman) enjoying a game of golf
together. We play on Sunday morning at 9:45 unless the club has
something else scheduled at that time. We also encourage after golf
dining and social time together at the club. We allow all levels of golfers
that can generally play the game, but we impose a maximum handicap
of 28 for men and 32 for women. The fee for playing in couples golf is
$5.00 plus each person must have 5 quarters for closest to the pin on
par threes. The game is generally a four person game chosen by the
Committee (me and herself) and paring is such that the teams will be as
equal as possible. If there are just a few couples participating, the game
might be couple against couple. All monies are returned to winning
players, but if you want to make a bunch, play with the giggle or gaggle.
We try to have as many winners as money will allow. We are just here to
have fun and enjoy each other’s company. Contact Sloan or Juanita

Pro’s Corner I love my Hoodies!! That’s the best thing about the fall, getting to
bring out my “warm” clothes. Just pull it over my head, put the hood
on, and that cold northern wind has met its match. There’s only one
problem I haven’t figured out, how to hold the racquet with my hands
inside the pouch. If it gets cold enough, I’ll make it happen.
The final Burger and Beer of the year will be held on Saturday,
November 19th at 9 a.m. We’ll have three rounds of tennis followed
by lunch and door prizes. This is a very fun, social event open to all
levels of players. Deadline for signup is Thursday, Nov 17th. You
can sign up via email or on the website. The $12 fee includes
tennis, snacks, beverages, lunch and door prizes.
Thursday Night Play is alternating between mixed doubles and
singles. Nov 3 will be mixed, Nov 10 will be singles, and the 17th will
be mixed. We’ll be off for Thanksgiving, but will resume with singles
on the 1st of Dec. If interested in playing in either or both, just drop
me an email and I’ll put you on the blast list. Just reply that you want
to play by each Thursday at 10 a.m. and I’ll include you in the
pairings. Both events are open to all levels of players.
Thanksgiving Holidays - The kids will be out of school the entire
week for Thanksgiving, Monday November 21 through 25th. There
will be no junior classes held that week. We will have Monday night
men’s league on the 21st, but all events from the 22nd through
Saturday the 26th will be cancelled. We will be back for hardcore on
Sunday, November 27th.
Dates to remember: Tuesday, December 6th will be the WTA
Holiday Banquet. My annual Holiday Party and white elephant
exchange will be Sunday, December 18th.

Governors as well. We are in the middle of our annual elections and we have three
candidates for two board seats and one alternate. We are fortunate that we have three
members willing to give their time and expertise to continue to help make our club a
better place for each one of us so while you are thinking about that other election, don't

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU So very much for all your support you gave for our annual Market Days event. It was a huge success and much of the success and credit goes to all our loyal supporters. This will be our biggest year yet. Of course, this means more scholarships to be given in May, 2017.

The golf course is closed regardless whether you are a dues paying member of the Club or a homeowner adjacent to any hole on Spicewood. Baclones Country Club will not be responsible for any injuries that occur to any persons or family pets who are on the golf course property at any time. Trespassers assume all risks. The only people you should see on the property are golf course personnel that are
trying to maintain the grounds to the best of our ability.
