These aren’t just random numbers...

Amazingly, these represent the temperature in fahrenheit for Seattle for the next 5 days! Before I left for International Convention in Orlando, Florida, the weather in the Pacific Northwest was still very much grey and groggy. It was a happy surprise to come back and see the sun smiling down on our normally rainy city! I hope all of

you have been doing well as you’ve settled into your summers, and that you have still been volunteering! Please remember that although you are probably a busy bee, you are also a Division 21 Bumblebee! I saw so much spirit at ICON 2012, and I am excited for our division to show our Bumblebee pride at Seattle Rally on August 13th! Rumor has it that there will be a spirit stick, so please

be on your best behavior and show some spirit! Can’t wait until then!

DIvision 21’s long-term goals are to have all 12 clubs in their area have active status, be efficient in fundraising and awareness for Key Club International’s Major Emphasis projects as well as Pacific Northwest District’s projects, and have complete communication between all clubs regardless of distance.

However, our biggest goals are those stated by Key Club International:To provide service, build character, and develop leadership.

“OMG I have the best service project idea ever! But I don’t have enough money to start it...”Apply for a YOF Grant! These grants are given only to Key Clubs/Key Club members! However, there is one catch- applications must be submitted by October 15th each year. So get brainstorming and apply for a grant for 2012-2013! For more information, visit

“How do I get some recognition for myself?!”As far as individual awards go, one can always try out of the talent contest or the oratorical contest. If performing or speaking in front of a crowd isn’t your thing, there are other awards also available. If you are a club officer, you can also be nominated for the Distinguished Club Officer award!

JUNE DCM RECAPHey Bumble Bees!

The June DCM was fantastic.

With fun, food, and amazing

weather, it was a great way to

start off the summer. Clearly, we

had a blast because so many

people stopped and stared at

us. A huge thanks to

Kamiak Key Club for hosting the

DCM. School might be over, but

service and Key Club keep

going. I hope to see everyone

at the July DCM.

What’s up with... Lake Stevens Key Club?Over the past year, Lake Stevens key club has been involved in the community. We have participated in many service projects, wherever help was necessary. What I liked this year was distribution of leadership: members had the opportunity to lead service projects, we made committees for projects during the holiday season, and some leaders took over their own projects. Examples are Bri leading the school supply drive and Taylor developing Cinderella’s Closet.

To end the year, we had an ice cream social with all the members. Over the summer we have a few community service opportunities. Also, the officers will be planning a meeting soon.
