With the passing of Key Club Week,

I’ve been thinking more about how our division can strengthen our relationship with our Kiwanis divisions: 21 and 22. This past week. I received news that the two Kiwanis divisions will be combining, meaning easier opportunity for us Key Clubbers to become involved with our sponsoring Kiwanis division! But

before we hop into that relationship, let’s remember the key players in our very own clubs: our faculty advisors, our Kiwanis advisors, and our officers!

Personally, I’d like to say thank you to all of you Division 21 Bumblebees. You all make Key Club so rewarding, and it’s amazing seeing the service projects my division can pull off, even with little incentive or help! I hope that

we’ll continue to work hard this year and change our community, one hour of service at a time!

DIvision 21’s long-term goals are to have all 12 clubs in their area have active status, be efficient in fundraising and awareness for Key Club International’s Major Emphasis projects as well as Pacific Northwest District’s projects, and have complete communication between all clubs regardless of distance.

However, our biggest goals are those stated by Key Club International:To provide service, build character, and develop leadership.

Project Eliminate

Jamaica is known for its blue Caribbean beaches, its rich coffee, and Bob Marley. However, people often fail to recognize the hardships and troubles students face in this paradise. Thus, Pacific Northwest’s District Project this year

is Project Educate: a project where we come together with the Jamaica district to improve the quality of education in Jamaica--one school at a time.

Where will the money go?

Specifically, the money fundraised will be used to rebuild and support three primary schools: Mona Heights, Wakefield, and St.Mary. The funds ill also go toward online classroom assistance and high school scholarships for students.

Are there any competitions?Your club may participate in the club video contest, where you create a video

about your support for this year’s district project, or the Espresso magazine contest, where you write an article about your fundraisers. Both competitions will end on December 31st, 2012. Contact your lieutenant governor for more information.

How can I support Project Educate? The Pacific Northwest District has ordered Project Educate t-shirts and

wristbands for clubs to sell. Using these products, you can help spread awareness and raise money for the Project Educate cause. If you are interested in fundraising with these, contact your lieutenant governor to order.

October DCM Recap

As the weather’s growing colder, bumblebees

took our DCM indoors for October, and did a

service project! Via the non-profit

organization, Hearts in Unity, we wrote

messages to kids and adults in Tanzania, Africa.

Thanks to everyone who came out!

Ask not what your club can do for you, ask what you can do for your club!

“Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it.

Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves.

All things are bound together. All things connect.”
