Ahoy Palencia passengers and crew,
It is hard to believe that this school year is coming to a close. This has been a great year. I have am very impressed by what we have been able to accomplish in a year. As this will be the last edition of the Post for this year I would like to thank our community for all the support you have shown. I would also like to thank our staff and students for how hard they have worked. I has truly been an honor to serve as the Principal this year. Even though we have accomplished much this year, we still have a long way to go. I look forward to serving with you all for many years to come as we work together toward making PES the best it
can be.
This past week we received our first set of FCAT Scores. We are still awaiting 4th and 5th Grade Scores. However, I do not expect those until after school is out for the summer. Once their scores arrive we will send out an alert now letting you know when and where you can pick the scores up from. While the scores we received were pretty good, we still have room for improvement. I will not be satisfied until all students reach a proficient level. With that as a motivating factor with the chang-ing assessments facing us in the near future we will always continue to
do what is right for our students.
As a reminder, during the summer months we close PES to save energy costs. Our offices will be located at Nease High School from June 16 until July 28. Also, the entire school district will be closed during the
week of July 14.
Join me in congratulating our newest members of the Principal’s Math Challenge. Our newest ‘Math Mateys’ are Katia Garrido, Payton Plandel, A.J. Hicks, Lexi Harvey, Sophie Pua, Isabella Williams, Drew
Fitzgerald and Fletcher Reston. Congratulations!!
I hope you and your family have a very safe and memorable summer.
