Mary was searching everywhere for the things to bring to the big party. Mary was nine years old, but soon she would be ten!

She was going to her uncle’s house for her

birthday party. Everyone would be there: Mary, Ethan, Bob, Emily, Mr.E, and Mike (Mike is a cat). Mr. E was waiting while Mary was packing.

Mary packed a lucky penny, a piece of gum, and a bandage (just in case she would get hurt).

She went downstairs to say good bye to her parents and went out the door to her uncle’s car.

She asked her uncle if he had any popcorn. He pulled out a giant container of popcorn from the passenger seat. When she looked inside it, there was cheese, caramel, and regular popcorn. She took the first bite and said, “Yummmmy”. She was quiet for the rest of the way there.

When she got to her uncle’s house everyone was already there. Being at her uncle’s place with her friends was great.

Her uncle was fantastic! He put up a moon bounce, a pool, and a slip’ n ‘slide. She knew he was kidding when he said that it only cost a penny.

So, she gave him a penny to be funny and to say thank you. When Mr. E brought out the cake it was huge. A four layer cake, too, and the very top one was made out of gum.

Mary loved gardening, so she got a gardening set, but something was wrong it was ripped and a glove was missing.

Mary was sad she needed that glove to finish her collection. Mr. E tried to find out who did it. No one answered when he asked them who did it, and know one knew what happened to Nathan and Mary.

Soon Mary’s friends figured Nathan was the one who stole it .( that makes sense because he put the gifts in the living room.)
