CAST Turtle Safe:
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Committee, approves specific LEDs from CAST Lighting as being Turtle-Safe. All species of SeaTurtles are recognized as either endangered or threatened. The Federal Endangered Species Act of 1973 protects them. Artificial lighting used for beach front properties may interfere with turtle egg-laying and hatching. In order to have our LEDs comply we must abide by the “Wildlife Lighting Criteria” which includes mounting restrictions, shielded bulbs and lamps, and long wavelength of bulbs.
