THE CAUSE

Sustainable Safari is a zoo dedicated to introducing guests to small exotic animals, teaching how they live and how to interact with them, with a focus on green living and sustainability.

Sustainable Safari is ready to take on the challenge of expanding from its current rural location. MEET SIMONYes, he’s a kangaroo—our spokes-roo.

An animated Simon will serve as zoo field guide on your adventure. Simon begins his tour when visitors download the Sustainable Safari App, featuring fun facts and information to help you understand the mission Simon will guide guests throughout the zoo, teaching them about the animals on display and at-home recycling techniques that can improve all our lives on planet earth. In addition to educating, Simon will host games and challenges to let you earn points for future coupons and discounts to the zoo.

Sustainable Safari is not your typical zoo. Our themed displays will bring our guests into the environments of our exotic animal ambassadors, including kinkajou, genet, coatimundi, kangaroo, capybara, lemurs, and tree pangolins.

Hands-on areas allow visitors to pet our kangaroos, wallaby, and cavies. An alligator-holding station is the perfect spot to snap a picture for social media apps, and guests will be able to purchase tickets to feed the lemurs and other special animals.

the ExperienceWe approach our mission from a unique perspective,

combining a hands-on approach with technology to

best appeal to visitors of all ages and backgrounds.

These approaches work together to create an

all-encompassing, educational, and fun experience.

Connecting with kids today is all about incorporating technology—and that’s where Simon comes in.

Simon uses tech in the smart way—to engage kids via their tablets and smartphones. He asks questions about exhibits, quizzes them on what they’re learning, and guides them through the zoo.

Simon introduces visitors to his exotic friends—Professor Porcupine, Lady Lemur—throughout the tour, and each character interacts with the kids, telling their story and explaining the environmental challenges they face.

And through it all, kids have a chance to take photos not just with the real-life animals, but with 3-D models of the characters. These pictures can be posted directly to social media with a message about the exhibit and the environment.

After leaving the zoo, our website will allow our guests to continue their expeditions at home or school. Our planet-based initiatives will let students across the country learn to make everyday changes that directly impact the protection of all species.

Teaching the public about the animals and interacting with them, rather than just viewing them, helps promote a greater understanding of creatures from around the world and how they need to be treated.

It also encourages a boosted understanding of sustainability practices and their real impact on animals, from the simple (the importance of recycling) to the complex (water shortages and climate change).
