A leper came to Jesus and kneeling down begged him and said, “If you wish,
you can make me clean.” Moved with pity, he stretched out his hand,
touched him, and said to him, “I do will it. Be made clean.” - Mk 1:40-41

Registering as a Parishioner: Please call 623-8823 or visit the Pastoral Cen-
ter at 24 Washington Street in Augusta to register as a member of our parish.
Pastor’s Corner: Dear Parishioners,
As we deal with other storms I want to express my appreciation and hopefully that
of all of you for the steady and challenging work that our parish property manage-
ment employees David Desjardins, Joe Kus and Tony Dumont have carried out in
dealing with all the snow storms we have been having. They are hard workers.
Thank you guys!
I hope all who were able to attend some or all of the sessions by Mr. Donald Smith
these past 6 weeks on Evangelization were able to gain a good picture of what this
focus is all about as to how we may better carry out our parish ministerial life. We
thank him for his generosity to our parish.
Please note the information in our bulletin this weekend as regards the Lenten in-
formation. There are meditation booklets etc for Lent available at the church entry-
ways. The "Light Is On For You" Lenten opportunity for the celebration of Recon-
ciliation will be held on March 23-25. We will publish the schedule soon.
Please consider participating in our St. Michael School annual Auction and Dinner
on Saturday, March 7th. Call the school for info and tickets at 623-3491. I am
grateful to our school principal, Mr. Kevin Cullen, for his willingness to attend all
of our parish weekend masses over the last several weekends to introduce himself
to all of you our parishioners and to share his hopes and dreams for our school.
That includes the great efforts that are now beginning for the second year in a row
by the EXCEL team of school parents and other community members to augment
the tuition assistance we are able to extend to help as many families as possible
provide their children a great Catholic school education and thus keep up an over
100 year tradition in our capital area.
Try to cope through all these snowstorms, remember how beautiful summer will be
when it is here!!!
Peace,
Fr. Frank

IS THERE TRUTH IN OTHER RELIGIONS?
A BREAKTHROUGH document from Vatican II, Nostra
Aetate (Declaration on the Relation of the Church to Non-
Christian Religions), released a theological revolution in
1965. Catholicism went on record calling the human family
one community sharing a common destiny in God.
All religions seek answers to the great human questions about
life, meaning, happiness, death, and mystery. A Vatican II
document noted that other religions of the world present a
“program of life” inclusive of doctrines, moral precepts, and
sacred rites. All of these assist human beings in the quest for
God and truth and are therefore honorable.
Vatican II taught that the Catholic Church rejects nothing of
what is true and holy in these religions. This is a strong proc-
lamation that deserves to be more widely known.
New global realities make dialogue and understanding be-
tween all who seek God a mandate for the future. At the same
time, the church continues in its obligation to proclaim the
gospel of Jesus Christ, which it regards as the fullness of
truth.

LENT 2015 The Lenten spirit of prayer, fasting, and alms-
giving during the weeks of Lent bring us face
to face with our temptations, some glimpses of
God, our failings, the choices we face, personal
sacrifices, and the sacrifice of Jesus himself for
our salvation.
Let us spend this Lent welcoming Jesus into our lives, grow-
ing in our faith, and experiencing God’s love more fully.
“Jesus came not just to forgive our sins; he came to give us
new life.”
The following event is available to all parishioners this Lent:
The following resources are available at all our churches:

weekend readings to read and reflect on.

prayers.
