SPRING LUNCHEON
As the children’s choir year comes to an end, I would like to say a very special word of thanks and appreciation to the wonderful leaders with whom I have the privilege to work. These ladies love our children, love music, and teach the children of God’s love through music and activities. We work well as a team to coordinate programming for the year and music for worship. Marriage Retreat at Callaway Gardens: September 21-23
One of the things we do to support state and local missions at Central is to partner with the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship of Georgia (CBF-GA). Our connection to CBF-GA allows us to pool our resources with like-minded Baptists for things like disaster response, youth retreats, ministerial conferences, support for educational institutions, student scholar-ships and a whole lot more.
This September, CBF-GA will host a Marriage Retreat at Callaway Gardens. I’m excited about this new way for us to engage the work of CBF-GA as we work to strengthen our bonds with other CBF churches. The retreat will be led by Bo and Gail Prosser, husband and wife experts in developing strong Christian marriages and families. Julie and I are attending, and I hope Central will be well-represented at what I know will be a fun and worthwhile weekend.
During the weekend you’ll have chances to hear Bo and Gail lead in large group settings, opportunities for fellowship with your friends from Central, chances to meet new couples from other CBF churches across our state, and plenty of free time to spend with your spouse away from the pressures of everyday life.
So make arrangements for the kids to spend the weekend with their grandparents, block off September 21-23 on your calendar, and go ahead and make a deposit to reserve your place at the retreat. Youth Volunteers Needed! July 9—12
We need your help this summer! Please go to our website here and sign up if you are interested in helping us with Vacation Bible School this year. The theme this year is Rolling River Ram-
page! If you volunteer that week we would like to thank you by taking you down the river (Columbus) on Friday, July 13th! When you sign up tell us if you would like to join us for the rafting trip on Friday. The discounted cost for the day is $25/person!
Ladies Prayer Retreat
We had a wonderful Prayer Retreat with Melody Harrell lead-ing us in some much needed quiet time and spiritual direction on May 3rd. Thanks to all the women who came to be part of the
wonderful day. A special thanks to Anita Headley for allowing us to use their family lake cabin. I hope many of you will decide to join us for our Praying in Color workshop set for September 7th, here at CBC. Look for more details to follow later in the summer.
ONE ROOF OUTREACH YOUTH MINISTRY
Bridging the Gap Summer Lunch Program
Volunteers Needed
During the week of June 4th-8th CBC will be serving lunch in two locations around town for the BTG summer lunch program. We have divided the week among different groups within the church.
Monday: FOF/Helping Hands Tuesday: Youth Wednesday: Chancel Choir Thursday: Children and Families Friday: Church Staff
We are using this as a guide to try and get different groups in the church involved throughout the week. If "your group" is on a day that does not work for you please feel free to plug in on a different day. As long as we have enough hands, all will go according to plan. Each day we will report to the church at 10:30 AM, divide into groups of 5-8, and go to one of two locations around town. We will serve the lunch, fellowship, and provide some simple entertainment from 11:00 AM—1:00 PM. If your group has an idea of what entertainment you would like to provide please feel free to contact Katie Faison ([email protected]) with your ideas!

Here is how you can help!
1. CBC is signed up to serve the lunches at both locations and do activities with the children June 4th-8th. If you would like to volunteer to help serve and provide entertainment that week please sign up here.
2. Visit our sign up genius or contact Katie Faison to sign up for things still needed for lunches throughout the summer and the treat bags that will be given out the first week.
