Paranormal in which he interviews people from across the paranormal

industry. Ryan’s family also owns the 360 Houses in Virginia, where he runs

investigations of the haunted location. He has investigated up and down the east coast of America, capturing many EVPs.

Holly Mullins Chief Spiritual Writer Holly is an Intuitive Healer, energy worker, spiritual counsellor, paranormal investigator, radio host and professional model. She was born and still lives in a small town Bible belt community in the Appalachian Mountains. In the Appalachian Mountains, some of these energy workers are known as “granny women.” Holly Mullins is among the newest generation of these women who have a natural ability to heal through the manipulation of life force energy.

The Tunnels of Fort Amherst in Kent, UK

Fort Amherst is a Napole-onic fort based near the Royal Chatham dockyards. It was once part of an extensive network of fortifications along the river Medway. The Ghost Adventures team have investigated another location which was part of this network known as Fort Horsted. Amherst was built after the Dutch attacked the British Navy in port, in 1667. Fort Amherst is one of the most haunted locations in Kent. The tunnel network is built into the side of a cliff and at the deepest point the caves are nearly 100ft down. This location is said to be haunted by soldiers,

witches, children and more.

The Chemtrail Conspiracy

The chemtrail conspiracy theory is the belief that long lasting trails (chemtrails) that are left in our sky by high flying aircraft are in fact chemical or biological agents that are being sprayed deliberately for a purpose that

is undisclosed to the public.

Many believers of the theory use the argument that normal contrails (condensation trails) Dissipate relatively fast so they believe that the contrails that do not dissipate like normal, must contain other substances. Although this is widely dismissed by the scientific community. Their claims are that the trails are normal water based contrails that are left by high flying aircraft, when an aircraft is under certain

atmospheric conditions.

But many people have tried to prove that chemtrail spraying does in fact take place, their findings are often flawed or based on misconception. This may be because of the conspiracy theory itself and the questions about the government’s involvement. But many people have tried to prove that chemtrail spraying does.

Even if scientists and governments around the world have spent so much time repeatedly explaining that the supposed chemtrails are in fact normal contrails can we be 100% sure they are telling the truth?

Believers in this theory have speculated that the reason why chemtrail maybe being released into our atmosphere are as follows: Solar Radiation Management Psychological Modification Human Population Control Weather Modification Biological or Chemical Warfare The chemtrail theories began to circulate in 1996 after the USAF was accused of spraying the US population with mysterious substances from aircraft causing unusual contrail patterns in the skies. The theories were posted on numerous internet forums and they were also discussed on late night radio. As the theories spread, federal offices were flooded with many angry calls and letters but a multi-agency

response was released in an attempt to dispel the fast spreading rumours. This was published in 2000 by the administrations pictured above. This caused many of the chemtrail theorists to see the fact sheets as further evidence of the existence of a

cover up by the government.

In the early 2000’s the USAF released an updated fact sheet that stated that the chemtrail theories were nothing but a hoax fuelled in part by a 1996 strategy paper drafted with their very own air university. The paper was in response to a military directive to outline a future strategic weather modification system, with the purpose of maintaining the USA’s military dominance in the year 2025. It was identified as a fictional representation of future situations and scenarios. The USAF further clarified in 2005 that the paper in question does not reflect current military

policy, practice or capability and that they are not conducting any weather modification

experiments or programs and that they have no plans to do so. The USAF also states that the chemtrail hoax has been investigated and refuted by many established and accredited universities, scientific organizations and media publications. They also believe that the existence of chemtrails are characterised by the stream of the trails that persist for hours and that with their crisscross grid like or parallel stripes they eventually blend to form large man made clouds. Many versions of the theory have spread and there are now websites dedicated to nothing but this theory. In 2014 a paper presented results of 20 chemtrail websites; it was found that the believers appeal to science in some of their arguments but they do not believe what the academic or government employed scientists say as all they get told is that the contrails are perfectly normal. The paper also found that chemtrail believers generally believe that chemtrails are evidence of a global conspiracy.

Canadian & British Houses of Parliament

Many allege that the trails are used for various goals; one of these goals is believed to be that the clouds are being seeded with electrically conductive materials as part of a massive electromagnetic superweapon program based around the High Frequency Active Auroral Research Programme also known has HAARP.

Others believe that they are toxic. The 2014 review found that the people who believe this generally think that every person on this earth is under attack and that

the believers often express fear, sadness, anxiety and anger over this.

HAARP

Many of them often attend events and conferences on geoengineering and a few have even sent threats to people working in the field. In response to requests from constituents, US congressmen introduced the Space Preservation Act of 2001. This Act would permanently prohibit the use of weapons in space; listing chemtrails as one of them. Believers in the theory stated that this was the government officially acknowledging the existence of chemtrails, also saying that the bill in question also mentions extra-terrestrial weapons. In 2003 a petition was started by Canadian citizen who were concerned that the chemicals used in aerial spraying are affecting the health of their fellow citizens. The government house leader responded by saying “There is no substantiated evidence; scientific or otherwise, to support the allegation that there is high altitude spraying conducted in Canadian airspace”. The house leader went on to say “the term chemtrails is a popularised expression and there is no scientific evidence to support their existence it is our belief that the petitioners are seeing regular airplane conden-sation trails”.

In the UK, in 2005, the Secretary of State for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs was asked what research the department has undertaken into the polluting effects of chemtrails from aircrafts. The response was “the department is not researching into chemtrails from aircraft as they are not a scientifically recognised phenomena; any work being done is to understand how contrails are formed and what effects they have on the atmosphere”. Another widely believed conspiracy theory about chemtrails is that it is being done by the illuminati. Some people believe that the illuminati are actually running the governments of the world from behind the scenes and are planning to bring about the New World Order (NWO). They believe that the chemtrails are part of this plan by using the unknown chemicals to control and worse kill people, making the NWO easier. Some people that believe this say that they are not yet dropping chemicals on to the earth but are practicing

and getting us used to seeing them in the sky.

A study in 2011 of people from the USA, Canada and the UK shows that 2.6% of the study entirely believed in the chemtrail conspiracy and 14% of the study partially believed it. Many chemtrail conspiracy theo-rists often say that when they first “wake up” and become aware of chemtrails they claim it be like a religious awakening and that it’s an experience that motivates them to advocate of many forms. In 2014 a supposed secret chemtrail pilot spoke out on chemtrails. This pilot claims that he flies chemtrail planes and the programme is called “Indigo Skyfold”. He said that the people he works with are told to fly specific routes. He also said they only make course corrections from time to time and they perform landings and take offs. He also says the shifts are rotated constantly and they only spent around 18 months at one base; he then claimed that this is to stop

pilots and their

families making friends. He claims that they are rotated between day and night flights and one base covers night flights while the other covers day time flights. He goes on to say that each base covers a 250 mile zone and that each squadron of planes covers 3 states or a larger part of the ocean. They are told to get on with their jobs and to keep quiet, while also being told it is a matter of national security; that without these flights the enemies newest technological weapons of war could easily penetrate national airspace at will. He went on to say that they were also dedicated to keeping their allies safe so they extend the arm of protection to those countries that support their efforts. This is only a small part of what he went into say about chemtrails you can find out what he said in full by searching YouTube for THE HAARP REPORT. There are so many people in this world that believe this theory; I myself am not sure what to believe, I have to admit I have been looking at our skies a lot more than I used to and I have been seeing long lasting trails in the sky that form clouds when they join. I can’t say myself if they’re normal contrails or if they are chemtrails. Part of me believes this theory and part of me does not. Saying that, I am finding it hard to find proof either way but do find myself swaying more to the belief that

something is going on.

What are crystals? Movement in the Earth’s crust is the catalyst for the formation of a crystal, as superheated liquids and gases, filled with different elements, move rapidly towards the surface. As the liquids and gases cool they crystallize, the temperature, pressure, surrounding rocks and other elements determine which minerals crystallize at a particular pace, crystals and rocks produced in this way are known as igneous. When crystals and rocks are exposed to the elements, they begin to erode and small particles are washed into the sea forming silt deposits. After extreme pressure for millions of years, these deposits become compressed, forming sedimentary crystals and rock. Anyone who is familiar with the metaphysical field has somewhat of an understanding about crystals as they play a huge part in our path, Crystals have vibration energy properties. They are used in spiritual rituals or healing in a similar manner. You can place them around your meditation space to promote inner peace, and stimulate connection to the spirit world.

Or to amplify divine energy coming into your space or being sent out from your space; such as during a healing circle. Crystals benefit everyone; they have many different healing properties whether it is physical, spiritual or mental healing. Like our ancestors before us we also use crystals for protection. While I am no guru on crystals, I do have some knowledge and my research lead me into the history of crystals throughout time and cultures.

The use of talismans and amulets date back to the beginning of mankind. The first ever historical reference to the use of crystals comes from the ancient Sumerians (4th Millennium) BC in which they used crystals in magical formulas.

In the Boyen Valley of Ireland sits an ancient tomb which is older than any pyramid. Archaeologists classified New Grange as a passage tomb, however New Grange is now recognized to be much more than this. Ancient Temple is a more fitting

classification. A place of astrological, spiritual, religious and ceremonial importance, much as present day cathedrals are places of prestige and worship where dignitaries may be laid to rest. This beauty was built so that the sun would stream through the 70 ft. entrance tunnel on the winter solstice. It roof is covered with white quartz to symbolize the white goddess. In Ancient Egypt Lapis was considered to be a royal stone, this was crushed and made into a paste to be rubbed onto the crown of the head. It was believed to draw out spiritual impurities. They would also use turquoise, carnelian, emerald and clear quartz in their jewellery, they were primarily used for protection and health. The Pharaohs often had their headdresses lined with malachite in the belief it helped them rule wisely, the

powder would be used for eye sight and was also used as an eye shadow.

The Ancient Greeks attributed a number of properties to crystals and many names we use today are of Greek origin. The word crystal comes from ice as it was believed that clear quartz was once water that froze so deeply that it remained a solid. Amethyst means not drunken and was worn as an amulet to prevent drunkenness and hangovers. Hematite comes from the word blood because when the stone oxidizes it turns a red color. Hematite is an iron ore; the Greeks

associated iron with Aries, the god of war. Soldiers would rub the stone all over them before a battle.

The original settlers of North, Central and South America used crystals for spiritual, ceremonial and healing properties and served as practical uses as well. The ancient Mexicans made mirrors out of pyrite. Obsidian served as both practical and ritual purposes. The Mayans use it for ceremonial knives and other tribes believe that it served both outer and inner vision. Turquoise was believed to be a stone of heaven and earth. Mayan Indians used quartz crystals for both diagnosis and treatment of disease. Some Mexican Indian tribes believe that the souls of those who led good

lives would go into the crystals.

Ancient India was rich in information about crystals. In fact the system of chakras and meditation originated there. Astrological documents written as early as 400BC contain detailed observations about the power of stones to counteract negative effects of planetary positions. Stones were regarded as having great spiritual and

emotional powers. Moonstone for instance was a sacred stone and believed to arouse love. Onyx was believed to release the tie of old loves and the ruby was highly valued as the “King of precious stones”.

As an intuitive healer I am seeing a shift in the world, a shift in consciousness. Many people are feeling the effects of this and are awakening. Crystals serve as a tool for

so many already and I see them numbers growing immensely over the next decade.

Throughout history the special virtue of amethyst has been that of preventing drunkenness and overindulgence. Ancient Greeks and Romans routinely studded their goblets with amethyst believing wine drunk from an amethyst cup was powerless to intoxicate, and a stone worn on the body, especially at the navel, had a sobering effect, not only for inebriation but in over-zealousness in passion. Catholic bishops also wore amethyst in a ring to protect from mystical intoxication. Kissing the ring kept others from similar mystical intoxication and kept them grounded in spiritual thought.

In today’s world, amethyst is still a remarkable stone of spirituality and contentment, known for its metaphysical abilities to still the mind and inspire an enhanced meditative state. Its inherent high frequency purifies the aura of any negative energy or attachments, and creates a protective shield of Light around the body, allowing one to remain clear and cantered while opening to spiritual direction. Amethyst

stimulates the Third Eye, Crown and Etheric Chakras enhancing cognitive perception as well as accelerating the development of intuitive and psychic ability. The Crystal of the Month: Amethyst

The 360 Houses Of Virginia

Out in Mechanicsville, Virginia, on the outskirts of Richmond there is an unassuming piece of property with two vacant buildings. One of the buildings is a one storey brick rancher style house built in the late 1970s and the other is a log cabin built in the early 1980s.

About the only thing that really stands out about this property is that the log cabin seems to be a bit out of place. But, other than that, they are very ordinary to the naked eye. However the secrets that lie within this property will chill you to the bone…

On the morning of October 4th 1979 the Elliotts were getting ready to start the day. The parents, John H. and Treva Elliott, left for work leaving their two children behind to get ready for school. Now, the Elliotts were not like most families. The wife had a son from a previous relationship. Her son who was mixed race, was called Randy. Treva met John; they got married and had a daughter who they named Melissa. This was when Randy was 5 years old. The family had recently moved into the brick rancher style house. Now back to the morning of October 4th; John and Treva had left to go to work. Melissa and Randy were home alone getting ready to go to school. Melissa was a 7th grader at Battlefield Elementary School which was within walking distance from her house. The details of what exactly took place that morning are sketchy.

From what we know… Randy Lynn Elliott raped and then shot his 12 year old sister twice in the chest; dumped her body in a large box and tried to hide it behind the house before he took off. Her body was found later that morning by two men gathering straw. They came upon the box, opened it up to see what was inside and discovered the body. The police were called and a man hunt ensued.

“It appears that the girl was shot inside her single-story brick bungalow home and that the body was dragged 75-100 yards to the field where she was found.” W.E. Mitchell of the Hanover County Sheriff’s department

Randy Lynn Elliott had fled the scene stealing a car from a house a half mile from where he lived with his family. He was later apprehended in Buncombe County, North Carolina and brought back to Virginia to face trial. On October 18th 1980 Randy Lynn Elliott was given life in prison for killing his 12 year old half-sister. He is currently incarcerated in the Lunenburg correctional facility in Virginia.

Growing up I had heard the story of the young man who had killed his sister. Of course because, my family actually owns the property that the houses are on. The Elliotts were renting the brick rancher from my grandfather when the tragedy occurred. My father was the only one in the office when our workers discovered the body. So, he had to go out to the property and meet with the police. It was not something he liked to talk about. It took him awhile to even tell us the story. But, when he did I remember being fascinated by it.

There was a sense of shock that something like that could happen on a property that my family owned. I felt instantly connected to this girl and I felt something for her. Like I wanted to learn more about her. When I had heard the story I had assumed that the girl was about 17-18 years old. I just recently found out that she was indeed only 12 years old at the time.

I had been in the house a few times after I heard the story, to clean up standing water in the basement. The sump pump would stop working and the basement would flood. I would talk to the girl as I vacuumed up the water. I did not feel anything menacing at the house at that time, but then again I was just there to do a job. People have admitted feeling creeped out at the house without knowing the

history behind it.

Even the log cabin next door gave off a creepy vibe to people which they could not explain. That is probably why businesses did not last very long in both of the houses.

In the early summer of 2016 I was looking for a place to investigate and I figured the properties on 360 would be a good place to try new techniques or ideas. Having two empty buildings there at my disposal was an opportunity I could not pass up. It would be like having my own Paranormal Lab so to speak. So, my friend Dennis Estlock and I decided to go out to the houses to see if he could pick up on anything. Dennis is a medium and remote viewer and we wanted to see if there was anything worth trying to investigate. So, we went inside the brick house to take a look around. As we were walking around the basement we both heard the muffled sound of a child’s scream. It sounded like the scream was coming from upstairs but it was also very faint. Almost like it was coming from the other side of a tunnel. We walked upstairs and found the house to be empty. That incident right there began a journey that I can only describe as extraordinary.

After that initial discovery of the disembodied voice we decided that we needed to investigate both houses. I was not sure if the log cabin had any activity in it or not. So we have spent most of the summer and fall investigating both houses and compiling close to 100 substantial EVPs and some very interesting personal experi-ences. We have had doors lock on their own; people have been pushed and choked. We have caught an EVP saying the word “Hate” in a very loud gruff voice in the basement of the brick house. I have also caught an EVP saying “watch your step” as I was walking down the steps to the basement of the brick rancher. But, we also caught some strange evidence in the log cabin as well.

One time I was having a spirit box session with Dennis and Karissa Fleck. We had left the Spirit Box and recorders running while we went outside for a smoke break. We went back inside to review what the recorders had caught while we were outside. What we heard shocked us to say the least. At first you heard a male voice saying “I killed her” and then directly following that you heard a female voice saying “that bitch was crazy, that bitch was dirty!” There have been several reports of people hearing disembodied voices in both houses. There is a dark presence in the brick rancher that has affected several people during investigations. We are not sure what exactly it is but we do not think it is human. One young lady who saw a figure in the basement was driven to tears. She had come to a public event that was held at beginning of December and a group of us was in the basement about to start an EVP session. I remember seeing the fear in her eyes when she told me that it was looking at her. Now, this girl had been on investigations and as far as I know has never really been affected by one like she

was that night.

Lyle Lotts, from The Twisted Realm and Twisted Paranormal Society, had this to say about the 360 houses “The Haunted 360 Houses are one of the most challenging locations that The Twisted Paranormal Society and its series The Twisted Realm has had the opportunity to investigate. You must always be on guard when you enter the brick rancher or murder house for whatever negative entity resides there. Whatever resides there draws you back for more. I haven’t had enough yet.”

The houses do have magnetism to them and it is not just the houses; it is the land itself. We found out recently from our friend, Jon Harris, who is a member of Transcend Paranormal that the property was actually involved in the Battle of Bethesda Church. Over 2,000 men were either killed, injured or captured on or around the property. When you have that much death and despair on a property it leaves a mark. We had gone back in the woods to do some relic hunting since Mechanicsville is notorious for its Civil War battles. We were able to find some Union bullets,

Confederate bucky balls, and some other trinkets that date back to the Civil War. The activity on the land and the surrounding area is so potent that we have actually heard residual cannon fire while sitting on the front porch of the log cabin. There have been numerous reports of people being touched in the woods and seeing shadowy figures amongst the trees at night. One group heard 15 minutes of residual

musket fire while doing an EVP session in the woods after dark.

The 360 property holds a dark past but a past that should not be

forgotten.

Beginnings

When my friends Alex and Helena King asked me if I would write an article for the first issue of their new magazine, I was more than happy to oblige, and very honoured that they asked me. When we discussed what they would like me to write about, they asked if I could write about one of my investigations that had not yet been aired on the television shows, or that I had already written about in my upcoming book. As I have also just begun working on another book and have some additional stories in the works for my comic book series, this made me think for a bit about what I could share that you might find interesting while also being unique, and not part of any projects I am working on. What I have decided to share with you is my very first, and I mean very first, real investigation of

reported spirit activity in the home where my mother grew up in Troy, New York.

Jack Kenna was born in Troy, NY in January 1963. Jack grew up in an area rich in history, legends, documented haunted graveyards, historical buildings and Revolutionary Battlefields. Jack’s interest in the paranormal started at a very young age. This was driven by the fact that his mother had many experiences of her own which she often relayed to him. The home he grew up in and now raises his family in also helped to peak his interest in the paranormal, in addition to his wife and their seven children it is also home to what he refers to as a friendly spirit, which seems to keep an eye out for the family. In more recent years his interest in the paranormal was rekindled by the TV series Ghost Hunters and the scientific investigation methods utilized by TAPS. These methods are very similar to the type of engineering and scientific methods that Jack has been using on a daily basis for the past thirty plus years in his career as a Senior Engineering Technician and project leader for the Department of the Army. Beyond his technical expertise for the Army, Jack brings to the SPIRITS team his video and audio skills from 6 years of running his own part-time videography business, as well as his computer and web-site design skills from 7 years of running his own part-time computer repair, training and web design business. Since 2011 Jack has also been writing paranormal articles and stories for Paranormal Underground Magazine as a regular contributor. Jack is also working on his first book about the investigations of S.P.I.R.I.T.S. of New England. In 2015 Jack, along with illustrator Alex Cormack, completed work on the first issue of a new comic book series based on the teams investigations, this first book is titled S.P.I.R.I.T.S. - The Forgotten Souls of Bay Path. He has also appeared in numerous episodes of of the television series Paranormal Survivor, as one of their paranormal experts. You will also see him on the new paranormal show titled Haunted Case Files. Both of these shows are produced by Our House Media (OHM) located in Toronto, Canada, and are aired in the U.S. on cable network Destination America.

My cousin then lived in it for several more years after purchasing it from the family. At least four family members died in the home, including my grandfather and grandmother and my aunt and uncle. The family also used to talk about the ghosts that lived in the house shortly after they first moved in back in the late 1930’s. My mother specifically talked about a spirit on the second floor, in their parent’s bedroom, that insisted on the walk-in closet door being left open. It was after my aunt’s death in the home in the mid 1980’s, long before television shows like Ghost Hunters ever came along, that I would have the unexpected

opportunity to actually check out this reported haunting in the family home.

Here is how it all came about….

A few weeks after my aunt’s funeral my mother, being the sole surviving immediate family member, had to go to the old house to meet with one of her nieces to go over what was left in the estate and discuss the pending sale of the home. I drove her to the house and was there for moral support.

Now this was a house that I had visited many, many times over the years and so I knew it well, having spent many a Thanksgiving and Christmas day in the home. For the most part, as a child and young teenager I never really noticed anything odd about the house, until I would go upstairs to the bathroom. The upstairs always had a completely different feel to it, just a feeling like someone was always watching you. Now in those early days I never really thought too much about ghost or hauntings so I just never made much of it, just did what I had to do and got the heck back down stairs. By the time of my aunt’s death though, I was now in my early 20’s and had a real interest in the paranormal; always watching shows like “In Search Of” hosted by Leonard Nimoy, reading books like “The Amityville Horror”, and watching movies like “The Exorcist” all very cool stuff, but what I found more intriguing were the stories my mother shared with me about her own paranormal experiences, one of which was what I described early to you about the door in the upstairs bedroom never staying closed.

To the left is a picture of Troy, New York. Just to give you a little background, my mother’s home in Troy was a small two story house, where her family had lived for over fifty years. Her sister and brother, both of whom never married, lived in the house until their deaths.

Now understand that in the 1980’s we did not have things like smart phones or iPhones. I did not have any recording equipment with me or a camera or any equipment at all. What I had with me in the house was “me”. After spending about an hour down stairs in the house with my mother and my cousin, I needed to head upstairs to use the bathroom. The stairway to the second floor is actually in the front of the house, so I had to walk through the dining room and living room to get to the stairway. Reaching the top of stairs on the second floor you enter into a hallway with a room to the left and one to the right, then the bathroom also on the right and at the end of the hallway is a door that enters into the master bedroom. As you go into that room you also have to step down three short stairs, the room is about 3.5 meters square. On the right was the door to the walk-in closet which is actually almost another small room which is about 1.5 meters x 3.5 meters. The moment that I reached the top of the stairs and the entrance to the hallway, that the feeling of being watched came over me, and sent a bit of a chill through me. It was at that moment that I remembered the story my mother told me about the door, I decided to check it out and see if there was really anything to it. It was getting later in the evening and the sun was just beginning to set. There were no lights on upstairs so what light there was, was from the setting sun shining through the windows, which made it all a bit eerie from the shadows that were being cast throughout the hall and the rooms. I decided to forego the bathroom break for the moment and see if there really was anything to this “ghost” wanting the closet door kept open. I walked down the hallway and stood at the entrance to the master bedroom. I paused for a moment. That uncomfortable feeling of being watched seemed to be even stronger at this end of the hallway, or was it

really just the fact that I

knew I was alone upstairs and the stories of ghosts were getting to me. Remember again that at this point in time the only thing most of us knew about ghosts was from movies and television; which like today only portrayed them as evil or demonic things that could hurt you or would try to possess you and take your soul. Perhaps because of this, young people like me, who had a curious interest in the paranormal were a bit more naïve about movies and television and we believed what they showed us. There were no Ghost Hunters or Paranormal shows to give us a glimpse of what paranormal investigating was really like, and talking about it was taboo in those days. If you really believed in ghosts you were either insane, weird or involved in devil worship and the occult. Also, social media was the local newspaper, there was no Facebook, Twitter, or Blogs where you could go to easily find like-minded people to discuss these things with; you were basically on your own, which is exactly what I was standing at the threshold to the room. Little did I know I was also literally standing at the threshold to my involvement in the true realm of the paranormal investigating, this was the moment that my journey

into the paranormal truly began. As I stared into the room from the doorway, something I was sensing made me feel that I should perhaps announce myself to whatever might

be in the room before entering it.

Since the door to the room was already open, I knocked twice on the doorframe, “Hello, this is Jack, Helen’s son. Do you mind if I come in?” Yes, I actually asked if it was okay to enter the room, I think I actually half expected an answer as well, or at least some sign, but there was nothing but silence. The room was completely still. In hindsight I believe that was an answer of sorts, at least as best any spirit might be able to answer. Nothing happened. Nothing was thrown at me. No disembodied voice or growl telling me to “Get out!” No foul smells. I guess even today I would take that as a “Yes, sure, come on in.” I waited for a moment and then walked down the three steps into the room. Nothing, no reaction from anything. I looked at the door to the closet and noticed that it was open about one third of a meter. I walked toward the closet and as I did I spoke again to whatever spirit might be there. “My mother told me that you don’t like this door to be closed, is that true?” I now stood in front of the closet door. Still that feeling of being watched was nagging at me. I reached out for the door knob. “I’m not trying to be rude or anything, but I just want to know if you are really here or not. I’m

going to close this door, and if you are here, can you please re-open it for me?” I pulled the door shut and let go to see if it remained latched. It did. . I grabbed the door knob again and pushed and pulled on it to be sure it would not just pop open. It was solidly latched. I let go and it remained shut. I took three steps back from the door. “Can you open the door for me please?” I stood and just watched, hoping that the door would open. Nothing. It remained shut. I asked again, “Can you please open the door? I just want to know if you are here.” I stood and

watched for at least a full minute. Nothing.

It was at this point that I felt the need to finally relieve myself, which is what I had originally headed up to the second floor for. Disappointed, I headed off out of the room to the bathroom. A few moments later I came back out of the bathroom and, because of its location to the master bedroom, when I came out I was able to glance down towards the bedroom and see the closet door. The door was open. It did surprise me. I really wasn’t expecting to see that door open. I knew it was firmly shut, but there it was, open as wide as it had first been. I walked back down in the room and to the closet door. I closely inspected the door and the latch, nothing seemed wrong or out of place. “Did you open the door?” I asked. No re-sponse, nor did I

really expect one.

My first thought was not that it was a ghost that opened it, but that maybe when I walked away I put some kind of pressure on the floor that made the door latch spring open, and I just had not heard or noticed it. I pulled the door shut again, checking to make sure it was tightly latched. I began rocking my feet on the floor, stepping back several feet and walking between the door and the stairs to try and get the door to open. Again, nothing happened, the door remained shut.

At this point I was a perplexed as to how the door had opened when I know it was firmly shut. I asked again for any spirit that might be there to open the door for me please. Again I stood and watched for several minutes. The door remained shut. I decided that my

experiment was over, there was no ghost, it was just all coincidence, something with the doorframe or the floor boards that I that could not replicate. It was all just random. I turned, my back now to the door, and began to walk up the three steps to the hallway…. “CLICK!” The sound was loud and obvious. I hesitated for just a moment before turning back to look at the door….It was half way open and I could easily see into the closet. I wanted to walk back to the door, but I found myself frozen, just for a moment, as a wave of chills ran up through my whole body. I did not realize this at the time, but as I later did more and more investigations, and to this day, this is a sign for me that a spirit is present in a location and is trying to communicate.

I composed myself and slowly walked back to the door. “Hello?” I think I mostly said this just to make myself feel better, to at least hear the sound of a human voice even if it was my own. I approached the door, grabbed the door knob and opened it the rest of the way. No one was there. The closet was empty, but there did seem to be a heaviness to the small room. I still was not totally ready to believe this was the work of a ghost, it must have something to do with the door latch popping open when I stepped onto the three steps leading up to the hallway, I had not tried that during my first debunking effort, so I would try it again this time. I closed the door again, and once again made sure it was securely shut and latched. This time I decided to walk backwards away from the door, so I could see when it opened and know where on the floor or steps was causing the latch to spring. I stepped firmly but slowly backwards, moving away from the door, glancing back quickly just to check my distance from the stairs. Once I reached the stairs I walked up them backwards, watching the door as I did so. I reached the top of the stairs and watched from the doorway to the room. The closet door remained closed. I walked up and down the three steps several times, the closet door remained shut. I decided to walk backwards down the hallway, about half way, so that I could still see the closet door.

Still the closet door remained shut. I stood there quietly in the hallway, puzzling over what could have caused the door to open if not something in the floorboards or in the latch mechanism itself. I stood watching the door, waiting for it to open. If it opened while I was watching it I might be able to figure out what was causing it. I stood there for what seemed like forever. Nothing. I gave a deep sigh. I decided that I better get back down stairs to my mom and her niece. I turned to go, no longer looking at the door…. “CLICK….CREEEK.” I FROZE IN PLACE! That wave of chills ran right up through me again, but this time I spun around quickly hoping to at least catch the door moving! Too late, the door way wide open this time! What happened next I really did not expect of myself. Now you might think I would have run like hell out of there, so would I to be honest, but I did not. Strangely enough I found myself smiling, I actually chuckled… “Okay, I get it. You’re here and you want that door open. I won’t close it again I promise. Thank you for letting me know you really are here.” I turned with a smile still on my face and walked back downstairs. This was first ever true investigation. No I didn’t have an audio recorder or a video camera, but I think if I had I would have at least captured one good EVP of perhaps one of my deceased relatives, or maybe the original owner thanking me for acknowledging them. Maybe I would have caught the door actually opening on camera, but the truth is that does not really matter. What matters is what I felt during that experience and the feeling of comfort and satisfaction I had when I walked away. I do believe to this day this is why I look at hauntings in a slightly different way than many investigators. I do not consider all hauntings demonic or evil. I think that many hauntings are just misunderstood, and it is often out of

frustration or angst that spirits sometimes cause problems or even physical damage to those they are haunting. Not that there are not true demonic or evil spirits, there are, but maybe we need to consider some other possibilities before jumping to that conclusion. This is just my personal opinion. We all started our journey into the real paranormal somewhere, this was my beginning. It has lead me in a direction that I had never imagined I would go in my life, as I am sure it has for all of you. The path you take on this unique journey is up to you. My advice is not to follow the herd. Follow your own path and be true to your own beliefs about the paranormal, but always keep an open mind and listen and learn from others as well.

The JC Thompson Building

The JC Thompson building located in East Liverpool Ohio stands as a historic monument in the centre of town. The building was built in the late 1800s to a booming economy that was backed at the time surprisingly by the

manufacturing of pottery. The building over the last 130 years has seen its share of good and bad. During the time of Prohibition in America the building was used as a speakeasy and a brothel on the third and fourth floors.

Over the years JC Thompson building was many different businesses such as a union hall a tattoo studio and a radio station. All of these businesses left a mark in time on this amazing location. As a paranormal investigator I have

investigated the building three separate times and all three times I have never been disappointed. In fact my team and I loved the building so much that we are now doing all the bookings for investigations for the JC Thompson building.

This is where the paranormal side of this article begins. Breaking Paranormal held its first investigation there in October of 2015 at that time we had many unexplained things happened to us. Such as everything from EVPs to full communication on several spirit boxes and even our team

member Stephanie being attacked on camera. All of these events I'm speaking of can be seen on our full episode of JC Thompson located on our YouTube channel Breaking Paranormal/The American Ghost

Hunter Live Show.

We also were able to somewhat begin to put the pieces of two unsolved murders that took part in the town back in the mid-1970s. On one of our spirit box sessions someone, or something, says axe murder. As we asked more questions we kept getting the name Taylor. At the time I thought it was a child that I was speaking with. So for almost an hour of our spirit box session I referred to him as a boy. Later that week, after researching the whole axe murder thing, we were able to find out that two separate families in over a 5 year period on that same block were bludgeoned to death and they are unsolved cases. The kicker of the whole thing is one of the families last name was Taylor. I can only assume that I was speaking with either one of the deceased family members or the

murderer himself.

For the first issue of our magazine we decided to get to know a team outside of America and the UK for our very first team

profile. We interviewed Andy “Bros” Overton from the Wimmera Paranormal Society from Australia.

Tell us about yourself... I've just turned 50 and have been involved in the paranormal field for 34 years. I've travelled to the UK and Asia and always tried my luck with a voice recorder no matter where I am. I'm the lead investigator for the Wimmera Paranormal Society in Western Victoria, Australia.

What got you into the paranormal and when did you start/join a team? Numerous spooky events got me curious about ghosts from a very early age (C.8 years old) but I got serious in 1984 after reading John G Fuller's book “The Ghost of 29 Megacycles”. I became obsessed with EVP's and began my quest with a Radio Shack tape recorder. I had a group of friends in those early years who accompanied me but as we drifted apart, I found myself with only my family making sporadic appearances on my investigations. In 2012, I started the Wimmera Paranormal

Society with my wife Tammy and our friends.

Tell us what position you have in your team and what positions your other team members have?

I am the lead investigator with our other members being ‘lackey’ investigators with the exception of Beau, who is an EVP/ITC specialist.

What are your goals for you and your team this year? After my Wife's recovery from recent knee replacement surgery, we plan to get more active at our favourite local locations and explore recently added sites with a view to running paranormal tours and finalising work on a TV production.

What part of the paranormal and being an investigator interests you the most?

The thrill of capturing something good is always an adrenaline 'rush' but my passion is hopefully obtaining irrefutable evidence that science can't

ignore.

What types of locations have you been to? From WW2 Japanese execution sites to Viking Castles, Jails, insane asylums, ]abandoned hospitals and all the way down to private homes.

What is your favourite location? We have a local abandoned hospital which is THE most haunted location I’ve ever been to. The spirits there know us by name. We hope to run tours there soon.

What equipment do you take with you? We have all the usual Spirit box, REM pods, EMF detectors, EVP recorders and such but also a Mobile Kinect Device, 4K FS action cameras, static field detectors and pulse Induction EM pump.

What is your favourite bit of equipment and why? My 4K Full Spectrum action video camera system. Its caught so many unexplainable

light anomalies and partial apparitions, its my 'go to' device now.

What would you say is the most important part of a paranormal investigation?

Careful and expert review after the investigation is complete. Often the best stuff is found when you're sure you have nothing!

How valuable would you say team work is both on and off location? Having a cohesive team is paramount. Being friends helps. Reliability of 100% means you can leave recordings with another team member and KNOW you won’t miss anything. We have had team members leave recently and the loss is felt greatly.

What is your most memorable case and why? Back in the 1980's I was with 2 friends at a house built for a church leader. It was abandoned for years due to a vi-cious spirit. On a sleepover, we were hissed at, scratched and slapped. It was very distressing and haunts me still.

What is your best piece of evi-dence you have captured?

Whilst filming for TV, a stone was thrown by a spirit at the back of my head and was caught on camera.

Who’s work in the paranormal field do you respect the most and why? Nick Groff is a real gentleman and has done well to branch out on his own. Like to work with him one day.

What is your dream location list? I'd like to visit the Maginot bunkers in France, Changi prison in Singapore, Poveglia Island in Italy, Castillo De San Marcos in the USA and all over the UK again.

What advice would you give to new investigators? Join a respected group and tag along on several investigations to get the feel of whats required to be serious. Never go it alone as it takes a long time to gain experience. Use the experience of others to set you on your path.

Do you believe in other paranormal things such as U.F.O’s and cryptids etc?

There's very little that I dismiss out of hand. I've seen too much weird stuff to close my eyes to anything these days!

Have you had any incidents with anything else paranormal other then ghosts? I've had a missing time/dislocation event when I was young and seen a few unex-plainable aerial phenomena that could be construed as UFO's.

What is your most embarrassing moment investigating?

Trying to be serious on camera at a crucial moment and then farting! Misconstruing grunting Moles as EVP's rates as well!

What is your paranormal celebrity dream team and why? Nick Groff, Dr Barry Taff, Robb Demarest and Allen Tiller. I reckon they'd all get along and work intelligently towards amazing results.

Your brain fires back sharp, just for an instant. A raccoon means night, finally a sign. You attempt to stand and find yourself hunched. Hobbling up the stairs the dark night sky greets your clouded eyes. The spot where the small boy had been is long since empty, but what’s that near the entrance? A body. Filthy from the elements, long dead but still a decent amount of flesh. Your mouth waters as you claw at the areas with the least rot, the thick fluids that haemorrhage from these chunks of meat sooth your dry throat. A gasp draws your attention; a woman’s scream breaks the silence of the dark. The sound pounds in your head. Re-treating to your haven is all that plays through your mind.

Days, months, drift by. All the while

your sense of sight dulls; your head is quiet, no more thoughts. Your ears are sensitive to the most minute sounds. Sit-ting in your corner you can barely make out the light at the top of the stairway. The sound of footsteps on the dirt above cause your ears to perk, something was coming. It was at the top of your stairs now, you can feel it getting closer, feel the vibrations of the ground. They’re de-scending.

Your brain numb, the only reaction

fight or flight. You lunge out of the dark-ness, your arms flailing wildly; raspy noise escapes your cracked lips. It gasps as it sees you, you can feel the vibrations moving further away. Dashing in the di-rection of the noises you’re suddenly at the top of the stairs. You’re translucent skin burst and peels, leaving the soft tis-sue underneath exposed. It’s finally got-ten you. The pain is excruciating. That monstrous fire in the sky has claimed you as its victim. You lie there, flesh smoul-dering. A filthy wretch piled in the middle of a rundown building. Your entire life, charred to nothing, nothing but a peculiar discovery to be made by the locals.

You find yourself, the middle of the night, outside a rundown abandoned building. Your skin scorched and sore. The sun will be up soon, you need to hide. As you move inside this atrocity of metal and brick, you find a frail young man asleep in the corner, covered by nothing more than the shadows. Inside this build-ing a scene of rot and decay. Broken beams hang from the ceiling, holes in the walls stare menacingly. You wander down the hall and find a doorway leading to the basement. The stairs are twisted and lean-ing, but stable. You follow the decent into the dank, wet underground. Down here it can’t get to you. Positioning yourself in a corner, you sit and wait. How many hours until sunrise? How will you know when it’s faded away again? Your mind is rac-ing. Sleep finally consumes you.

Several hours later, you open your

eyes. Greeted by the cool darkness. Do you dare check to see if that great yellow beast has returned to its slumber? With a trembling hand you climb the stairs out of the basement. The upstairs appears dimly lit, had you won? Was it gone? A moment of pride strikes you and you advance for-ward, the clouds part and your skin blis-ters almost instantly. Gasping you throw yourself back to the safety of the base-ment. It’s too dangerous. The days are slipping away, and the seasons shift. The heat and humidity turns to crisp, damp air. Your mind becomes cloudy, you find it hard to think straight. Your stomach aches. When was your last actual meal? The only nourishment, a small grub or a curious rodent has gotten you this far.

Your body is changing. Your seared

skin has turned pale, almost translucent. Your hair has become dirty and matted. Your nails over grown and sharp, your teeth have begun to fall out from decay. They lay in a small pile near your feet. A

shy raccoon peers down the stairs at you.

Heliophobia A fear of sunlight

When Death Takes Hold before the water ran out to sea, the large bend and thick growth of underwater foliage on this stretch sifting through the river’s flow and picking out the debris, like a fine tooth comb. The only thing that made it look black was that moonless night.

Black Water Cove, what a joke. It should've been called Brown/Green Water Cove, judging by the look of it by daylight. The rain had started beating down and the wind blew it into his face, each spray of water stinging his skin like a swarm of biting insects. He pulled his collar up around his neck—a mundane gesture considering his intentions on that dark, damp, miserable night. It was no coincidence that he should be looking out across the rolling waves of what the locals called Suicide Riviera.

The bow in the river, married with the sudden drop in the river floor’s bed in this area, made for a treacherous expanse of water. Swimming was banned here, and for good reason. Over the decades many a hapless bather had been taken by surprise by the fast flow and violent undercurrents, and had been dragged to the bottom to drown in its murky depths. Often, the bodies were never recovered; perhaps dragged out to sea, perhaps lying at the bottom of the dense mud, and reed-covered, bed. This had attracted another kind of tourist; the suicidal type. On many occasions, the local authorities were called to the river’s edge to a pile of clothes, sometimes accompanied by a note that had been found by an early-morning dog walker.

Adam had lost his job several months ago. Streamlining, they had called it, though penny-pinching was more like it. With the state of the economy, his prospects of finding any other em-ployment were bleak at best. The ensuing financial difficulties in his life had caused much strain be-tween him and his girlfriend, Sue. After weeks of arguing, it was no surprise when he returned home, from another fruitless mission to find work, to find her gone. He might have coped better with this if he could have talked his problems over, but Adam had no close family and had always found it difficult to make friends. He was very much a loner.

Now he found himself looking out across this miserable scene, or as far out as the dark night would allow. His shoes were encased in mud, his jacket and trousers soaked in freezing cold rain-water. How many people had stood in this exact same spot, thinking the exact same thoughts, be-fore taking their last steps into oblivion?

He could hear the splashing and sloshing sounds his feet made as he started forward. Adam hadn’t even consciously made the effort to begin wading into the water. His body had just taken over. He was little more than an automaton at this point; his brain was in stand-by mode, not fully shut down yet, but powering down all the same. The trials of life had finally won and he had neither the strength, nor the will, to fight them anymore.

The sand soon gave way to pebbles as the water slowly worked its way up his legs; the cold,

as it reached his thighs, chilled him to the very bone. As the band of pebbles began to thin, his feet started to sink into a dark greasy layer of mud, silt and oil. It sucked at his legs as he slowly forced his way forward, further away from land, further into the darkness of the night. The few lights behind him illuminated only the first few yards of his watery path.

When the water was up to his waist, the coldness of it forced all the air from his lungs in a

sudden shock of pain.

Adam stood on the river bank and looked out across the water. It was choppy, and dark from the silt that had been deposited over the centuries in the large

bowl of Black Water Cove. A natural dumping ground for the river’s waste just

When Death Takes Hold It was all he could do to take sharp panting breaths, just to get a little oxygen into his starv-

ing lungs; though why he thought to keep them inflated, he could not fathom. Keeping oneself alive for a few more moments when your, endgame was death seemed, well, rather pointless when you thought about it. But he tried, none the less.

He could no longer feel the bottom and began to swim, albeit clumsily, into where the chan-nel was deepest. The thick coat that he wore absorbed water like a sponge, and was already trying to pull him under. The wind forced small waves into his face with such force that it felt as though he was being repeatedly slapped with a very large, wet fish. Each intake of breath invariably led to a mouthful of water. The water tasted bad, really bad, a mixture of sewage, rotten vegetation and god knew what toxins from the factory which stood on the opposite river bank.

Adam stopped and trod water for a moment. Fear had started to ebb its way into his thoughts. He had hoped that it would all be over before fright took hold, but unfortunately that was not going to be the case. He was now so far away from the dimly lit river’s edge that all around was completely black. His body was being pushed and pulled from all directions as the river be-gan to play with him, such as a cat might play with an injured mouse or bird before finally devour-ing it.

Panic set in, as what an alcoholic might call a ‘moment of clarity’ punched its way through the haze of depression which had led him to this terrible act. He turned and frantically attempted to swim back to safety, the tide and undercurrent doing their best to hamper him in any way they could.

The progress back was slow, too slow. In an attempt to improve his chances he tried to re-

move his coat. Each time he fumbled at a button, he sank, if only for a second or two. The dirty water and darkness of the night enveloped his mind as well as his body, its putrid taste filling his nostrils and mouth. He surfaced after each try, gasping a great lungful of air as he did so.

Eventually his labours were rewarded as the coat came away and was sucked into the

depths. He continued his attempt back to land with a renewed desire for life. He didn’t want to go out like this, not this way.

The wind picked up in ferocity and the rain now fell by the bucket load. Everything fought

against him, in his efforts of self-preservation. Stroke by slow stroke he inched, painfully slowly, back to salvation. The muscles in his arms burned with the exertions of his battle against the cur-rent and the worsening weather conditions.

There was a light tapping against his legs; reeds, it must be reeds. He knew he had to be

close to dry land now. He ventured putting a foot down and felt the soft mud beneath his foot. He lowered his other leg and began to half swim, half wade, through the thick brown disgusting trea-cle that hampered his return.

As his hand touched pebbles he paused for breath. Now, on all fours, he could actually keep

his mouth above water long enough to take in a bit of air between waves, for what seemed like the first time in hours, though in fact it had probably been only a few minutes. Time had slowed to al-most a standstill since he'd first entered the water. The loss of his job and his girlfriend seemed so trivial now, in comparison to the benefit of a few good inhalations of oxygen. Still the waves lashed over him. Although he only had a short way to go, there was very little left; all reserves had left him a long time ago. Was this it? Was this how they would find him? ‘So close yet so far,’ that

was the saying, wasn’t it?

When Death Takes Hold He reached forward and, gripping a large stone with all his effort, tried to pull himself for-

ward. His right leg was stuck fast. He pulled at it again and again. Still it wouldn’t budge. Adam reached down to release it from the tangle of Reeds that anchored his foot. Instead of vegetation, he felt the unmistakable form of a hand, its fingers clamped round his ankle in a vise-like grip. Then he felt another grab his other leg pulling him back towards the river. His legs were pulled straight and his arms, so tired from the swim, did not have the strength to keep his body above the water. He fell face first into the pebbles and swallowed a mouthful of water. He tried to scream, but that only opened the way for more water to rush past his lips and down his throat. He kicked and splashed like a caught fish, as more hands reached out for him. They grabbed and pulled at his arms, legs and torso. He began to lose ground and slowly, but steadily, was towed back into the depths of the river.

He was now fully submerged as scores of the dead, both suicides and accidents, pulled him

down to the depths of the bowl. And there Adam would remain, his body rotting and the flesh fall-ing away, until he was no more a man than the others within his new group of friends. For the dead long for the company of the recently departed, those who still have vivid memories of what it’s like to be alive. They feed on these thoughts as an addict would on their drug of choice; but they loathe being teased by the living.

Q) How long have you been writing for? A) Despite being the grand old age of 48 (On Friday 3rd Feb, thanks for asking) I only started writing seriously less than two and a half years ago. I always enjoyed writing at school and college, but that just fell by the wayside when I left and got a job, as things tend to do when you enter the 'real world'. It took me nearly three decades, a bout of in-somnia and a few too many beers to make me sit down and write again one night. Q) What inspired you to write? A) Things floating around my head, some sil-ly, some more serious. I wanted to try and get, if not all, at least a few of my thoughts down on paper. The horror genre can be use-ful for this. As well as always being a horror fan, it had the added bonus of allowing me to express thoughts and re-live experiences whilst camouflaging them behind the veil of fiction. Not to say everything I write has a hidden meaning, but there are smidgens of

truth peppered throughout my work.

Q) What is your favourite piece of work by an author? A) Clive Barker's Books of Blood. No ques-tion. I didn't even have to think for a second to answer that. Despite the misconception that all writers spend hours reading (I'm sure a lot do) I am a lazy reader. Once I've finished a day at the office I'm usually too tired to pick up a novel. The Books of Blood were ideal for me as they were several volumes of short stories. Short stories are my thing. I don't see me attempting to write a full novel any time soon (but never say die). I've pushed myself to try and read more lately and as my circle of writing friends has increased this has become a bit easier. Q) Do you have an Idol? A) I couldn't narrow it down to one person, it would be unfair. The writers that have really

entertained me are King, Barker and Herbert.

One early Autumn evening in 2008, I was slowly traveling southward along a country road outside of Eugene, Oregon with a carload of kids who I had just picked up from choir practice. The Eugene area is generally foggy that time of year, and this day had seasonable fog; however, the fog cloud was in an odd configuration. It was a high fog/edge of a low cloud about 50 feet up and about 100 feet from the side of the road, and it was completely clear on the other. I was pointing the cloud bank out to the kids when I happened to notice a very odd pale red glow on a 2-story country farmhouse a few acres in as I drove by. It caught my attention enough that I turned around and slowly drove northward on the road to get a better look. Soon I regretted my decision and was doing my best to calm the kids. We witnessed a shaft of red light, which seemed to be about 20 feet in diameter, illuminating the house. This was strange enough, but that is not what alarmed the children. What caught their eyes, and mine, was the bottom edge of an unknown craft silently hovering with its upper portions obscured at the bottom edge of the cloud. I couldn't distinguish the upper dimensions of the craft, but what was showing was triangular with a large red light in the center and lights in the three corners that seemed to cycle between green and blue. It was hovering motionless above the farmhouse without disturbing the cloud bank and, from my vantage point, seemed to be larger than the house. It seemed silent as well, but truthfully it would have been difficult to hear any low noises with the carload of panicked children in the car. Not believing my eyes at first, I slowed way down, stopped, and stared a bit while trying to calm the children and let them know that we were all okay. Then I felt angry with the craft. How dare this thing show up in MY neighbourhood and hang out doing who knows what! It didn't belong there! I felt an intense need to protect all of us from this unknown thing. I wanted to yell at it or throw something at it to make it go away, but I didn't. Instead I paused for a moment, leaned over with the front passenger window down to get a better look and willed the thing to just go away and leave us all alone.

As if realizing it had been spotted, the red light on the craft dimmed a bit and the craft slowly moved northward parallel to the road still partially obscured by the cloud bank. I maintained my distance from the craft and paced its speed as it journeyed away from the house. It started out barely moving, like 5 mph, but slowly accelerated to up to 30 mph. We followed alongside it for about a mile until it emerged completely for a moment from the cloud bank. I remember a huge dark triangle with the previously mentioned light configuration, but I only got to see it for a fraction of a second. In the blink of an eye, it darted northwest into the clear skies and disappeared behind the coastal cascades mountain range far in the distance.

Mrs A’s Story…

I comforted the children and let them know that we were all okay and that the thing was gone now as I drove them home. Once home, I asked them to draw a picture of what they saw, and they all drew a similar picture of a triangular craft with a red circle and green and blue lights except one child, who had curled up and covered her eyes during the experience, who drew it as a cigar shaped object with a larger red light and blue and green smaller lights. I again assured them that they were all going to be okay and silently hoped that the craft got the message and would not return to our neighbourhood. As a side note, I had noticed for over a year beforehand that whenever I'd drive near the farmhouse, the check engine light would go off in my car and then go back to normal once I was past it. I thought it was strange, but I thought that maybe they had an electrical fence that was causing interference with my car's computer chip or something. But after that incident, I wondered why my car did that and was more concerned. I was tempted to go to the house and speak with the owners, but I never got the courage to do so.

The story is based on truth, of an actual case Jack and his team worked on in Springfield, MA. This case was also highlighted in the TV show Haunted Case Files, which Jack Kenna is a star of. However the comic book itself focuses more on the souls that are buried in Bay Path Cemetery. There are over one thousand people buried in a plot of land about half the size of an American football pitch, and to make matters worse, there is no memorial or gravestones to mark the dead. The story is not only about their client’s case but also about the people buried beneath the ground in Bay Path, and remembering them. To the right and below are two pages taken from the comic book at different moments in the story.

The S.P.I.R.I.T.S. Team is called upon by a terminally ill client to investigate his home where he has been witness-ing chilling paranormal activity. He describes that he seeing shadow figures, hooded men and experiencing physical harm, unexplained noises and disembodied voices. These are just a few of the manifestations in his home that the team have to investigate, but what is causing it? The team’s investigation leads them not only to answers for their client but also they dig up a dark part of American history. This comic is the first of a graphic reality series based on the investigations of S.P.I.R.I.T.S. of New England, from Winthrop, Massachusetts.

Now if you are a crazy person like me and enjoy the paranormal and ghost hunting while at the same time a geek like me and love comic books, or graphic novels as some call them, then this is the comic for you. Not only is the artwork, by Alex Cormack, incredible, the story is also intriguing and entertaining. After I started reading and was a few pages in I decided I was not going to put it down, although I was using the digital copy so I suppose you could say I wasn’t going to close the window on my laptop. I had to read to the end to find out what happens. The story throws up all sorts of emotions as you read it. You feel sorrow for the client and for the dead while at the same time nervous. The sort of nervous feeling you get when on an investigation, not knowing what is exactly going to happen next. The more emotional of you may even have to hold back the tears when you get to the end of the story, but I am not giving anything away. There is also the odd chuckle as you read through the comic. The mix of emotions is good, because you want that from a story, and they are balanced very well. The imagination of the artist to bring to life what we don’t see as investigators was done very well too. It really made me feel, as an investigator myself, like a hero, though I’m sure Stan Lee won’t be giving me a call any time soon.

The entire comic is produced in black and white which I thought was a master stroke as it made the comic feel edgy and gritty, which is my personal favourite style, when it comes down to comic books. But it’s not just like this because it’s in black and white. The way he has drawn the characters and the background, in his unique style also helps achieve this, which like I said is incredible. So overall it’s a very good comic book. The story keeps you reading to the very end while you find yourself taking time to admire the imagery. I would strongly recommend this for any fan of the paranormal or of comic books. Movie Reviews

This is most definitely an over hyped movie, and I’ll tell you why. The

plot was alright but not phenomenal, matter of fact it was the best part. If you’re watching just for the plot and not for scares, then you’ll very much enjoy it. The special effects were most definitely the parts that were not up to par. You’d think that in 2017 they would have better

special effects, but no. They looked like they were from a 2009 horror movie. There were very, very, very few jump scares, especially if you’re

someone who’s seen many scary movies like myself. If you’re one of those people, then this movie will hardly scare you at all honestly. Not

to mention how stupid his name is, “The Bye Bye Man” I mean they could’ve done “The finisher” or something at least more threatening

than that. I get that it’s supposed to be like a child’s saying it but there’s only one child even mentioned in this whole story and she’s kind of irrelevant, so there for the name being like that is abnormal.

Overall I give it 6.5/10 stars, which is generous.

I am not a major “lover” of horror/thriller films, a lot fail to keep me captivated, because so many usually follow the same old story such as a new family mov-ing into a home and so on. The concept behind Jane Doe is something I have never seen before. Let me give you a little background to the story; A father and son run a morgue and at the end of their day they get contacted by the

police who bring in the body of an unknown woman. They’re job is to figure out how and why she died, as they conduct their autopsy a lot of strange things start happening. This to me is an unusual concept and it’s a great

story, a story that keeps you engaged. Now I don’t want to give too much of the film away because I want you to watch it however there is one moment in

the film that really blew my mind. This was the moment when the other bodies, which they had stored at the morgue, started to get up and walk around. Now they were not zombies and you never truly got a good look at them but what

made this a tense and thrilling part of the film was the fact that the body walking around had a bell tied to his foot. Doesn’t sound like much but trust

me it worked so well. It stars Brian Cox, an amazingly talented and

experienced actor known for Brave Heart, The Bourne Films and X-Men 2. It is directed by, Norwegian, André Øvredal known for Trollhunter.

8/10 Stars. Really worth a watch.

I can see you. Your image in the corner of my eye. Why do you hide? You stand there every night, just barely in

my sight, but when I get to close you vanish like a ghost. I dare not look at you dead on, for I know that you'll be gone. So I savour our dark moments as I lay in bed and you watch from the corner. Daylight breaks, your no-

where to be found, but I remember. I know better. I know that once the sun has gone to sleep, you'll return to the

space you keep. I long for you though I don't know what you are, this need is not met from afar. In the cameras

flash, you vanish fast and I am left an empty image. I do not know why you tease me from that corner, or why I feel this strong connection. Are you alive? Or from the

world after? Time will tell. I hung the rope in the garage; I’m coming for you, my sweet mirage.

The first picture we have for you was captured on a WW2 Airfield in Essex, England. It is a full spectrum photograph. At the time when the picture was taken there were three people pre-sent all behind the camera. As you can see there appears to be a figure behind the wall wearing what looks to be a military jacket, maybe holding a rifle. This airfield is known for paranormal activity and has been investigated by Boleyn Paranormal, who this photograph is from. What do you think of this capture? Let us know.

This image was captured by Laura Dixon of Pontypool, Wales. It was captured at the Savoy Theatre in Monmouth which is also in Wales. At the time of the capture Laura claims that there was no one on stage and that there was nothing to create that light. Not a light force itself or anything to cause a reflection. If you zoom in you can see a figure behind the light but is this a ghost or is it just glare from the light making you see something that isn’t actually there? Matrixing. Despite taking numerous photographs of the stage, this light only appeared once. It was capture in September 2014.
