Ezechiele Chiappa founded Armi Sport in 1958, and was among the pioneers who gave birth to the replica firearms world. The activity developed along the years into an industrial corporation including Armi Sport (replica firearms), Kimar (blank, signal and small caliber firearms), ACP (laser training system), Costa (metal surface treatment), Chiappa Firearms Ltd (USA branch in Dayton born to support with technical and commercial assistance the most important market for the Chiappa Group). The group is still proudly owned and controlled by the Chiappa family. The production plant in Azzano Mella (Brescia, Northern Italy) has been structured in order to guarantee a flawless production flow, cutting edge automation which is at top level in the field, and optimization of logistics. Artisanal abilities (such as manual finishing and oiling of the stocks) cohabit with advanced technology (the CAD/CAM system manages the full production flow, from design to machining to deliveries). All components are manufactured in house, even moulds and machining tooling – which assures an excellent quality/price ratio for Chiappa products.”

“The Model 1887 is a perfectchoice for traditional hunting, with a 5 round magazine + 1 in thechamber. The optional “Fast LoadSystem” was designed for CowboyAction Shooting competition, byCowboy Action Shooters! Testedand proven in CAS competitions,we have improved on a simplemodification to allow, even thenovice shooter to use our “fast load

system” as a double load system. You will be surprised at the speedand ease of loading two cartridgessimultaneously. We designedthe receiver for modern 23/4”ammunition that insures positiveejection of spent cartridges. Withthe “Cowboy Hunter” model itis possible, in just a few seconds,to transform your 1887 standardmodel to a “Fast Load System”

shotgun and back again. The Chiappa Firearms Model 1887utilizes the design of the original1887 solid lever that includes aninnovative internal safety designthat minimizes the possibility ofaccidental shooting while the breechblock is open, not allowing the firingpin to strike the primer until thebreech block is completely closed.”

The Model 1892, like the first lever-action guns, was originally chambered forlower-pressure, smaller, handgun rounds.

The Model 1892, however, incorporates a much stronger action than the earlier lever-actions andis strong enough to chamber high pressure handgun rounds, such as the .357 Magnum and the .44Magnum. While earlier rifles and shotguns may have actually “Won the West,” the majority of leveraction rifles seen in classic Hollywood Westerns are Winchester ‘92 carbines and rifles. The popularityand appeal of the Model 92 is quite easy to figure out. They’re great for the Cowboy Action competitoror for the outdoorsman who needs something light, handy and powerful. This little rifle or carbine isa perfect choice for the collector who wants to own one of er screen, theModel 92!

W of Brisco County Jr., TheMagnificent Seven television series, “Boss”, what do they have incommon? The Mare’s Leg*, made famous by the bounty hunter JoshRandall, the original gun was a modified 1892 rifle or carbine cutdown to pistol size.

USA RE GULATION:In the past the only way to own one of these novelties was

to comply with the ATF regulations for a “short barrel rifle” (SBR) Chiappa Firearms is proud to offer a “Pistol” version

of this famous firearm that requires no additional requirements other than normal handgun ownership.

“All our 1892 LeverAction models aresupplied with StandardLever, except theMare’s Leg modelwhich features a RioBravo large lever. All levertypes are fully interchange-able, you can purchase a dif-ffferent lever to give your gun acompletely different look andfeel!”

California Joe

California Joe was unquestionably the most famous among Berdan’s Sharpshooters. Nicknamed “California Joe”, Joe came west from New York to seek his fortune after a failed romance. Joe was 52 years old at the time he enlisted, but stated his age as 42, otherwise he would have been rejected.Joe brought to the sharpshooters a background of a hunter and gold miner which could have made enough fodder for interesting news stories but Joe was found to have a keen eye and a great marksman without any embellishments by the press..

The “Hydra” system is a patented modification to the Sharps per-cussion system. The cartridge chamber is fixed, and the reduced thickness of thecartridges allow them to adhere perfectly to the chamber, dramatically reducing gasescape. Ignition hole is a tiny 1,2 mm diameter. The front plate of the locking blockclosing on the back of the cartridge with a spring, and an insert made of berylliumand copperr with a hole of 1.2 mm, instead of the open ignitioncone, allow for a 95% airtight system. Black powder rifles built

with thish system perform like a breech loading cartridge rifle, and leave very little blackpowder residue leaving minimal fouling around the piston. Furthermore the block canbee oiled after up to 30 shots instead of the standard 4 to 5 shots.

Early firearms manufacturers began a heri-tage of elaborate embellishment and en-

graving of firearms that continues to this day.In the 1800’s most firearm manufactures offered“Custom Shop” services where the customercould order models with custom features &engraving. Custom engraving and other deco-rative touches brings an aesthetic quality to amachine-made firearm that not only enhancesthe appearance, but the overall value as well. The feeling one receives from owning aChiappa Custom Firearm is no differentfrom owning an artwork of the great mas-ters. Your Chiappa Custom will be a truemasterpiece and instant family heirloom.

Most of our models can be purchased with a“selected” stock - which means selected fromthe standard production - or with a “Supe-rior” stock. Engravings are made with lasertechnique, whereas Deluxe Engraving con-sists of a laser engraving with hand finish. The hand finish endows greater depth to thedrawing the borders are beautifully defined.

1842 U.S. Percussion Musket 900.000Both the Harpers Ferry and Springfield Armories produced the Model 1842 U.S. Percussion Musket in great numbers from 1844 to 1855. Thisreproduction is true to the original measurements, with a 42” barrel and a total length of 58 inches. The Model 1842 was notable in severalaspects, mainly that it was the .69 caliber musket. Additionally, it was the first weapon made at both the Harpers Ferry and Springfield Armorywith completely interchangeable parts. Harpers Ferry produced 103.000 while Springfield produced 172.000 for a total production surpassinga quarter of a million arms. This reproduction is nicely marked. The lockplate is stamped with Federal eagle in front of the hammer and verti-cally marked “Spring-field” in two lines behind the hammer. The lock and tang are dated 1847. The barrel is stamped with the correct style V.P.and eagle head proof marks are on the breech. The butt plate is marked U.S. The sling swivel is riveted as per the original. One piece walnut oilfinished stock. NSSA Approved.

970.000 - Bayonet 1861 SpringfieldThis quality reproduction bayonet is manufactured in Italy.Stamped “US”. Reproduced as per the original with highquality steel, in Armoury Bright. Also Available: 970.001 Bayonet 1842 Springfield.

1842 U.S. Short Rifle 910.040The U.S. Model 1842 was the last smoothbore musket, while simultaneously being the first with fully interchangeable parts (machine-made) and the firstwith an adjustable percussion lock. It was not made in great numbers. Total production of both the Springfield and Harpers Ferry Armories was only 272,565over the course of 12 years. A few of these smoothbore muskets were converted to “Rifled Muskets” and a fewer were converted into the two band “ShortRifled Musket”. Often mistaken for an “Artillery” model, the short 33 inch barrel was a favorite for close quarters and mounted units.

1842 Rifled Musket .69 cal 910.005During 1856-1859 about 14.000 of the smoothbores were rifled and approximately 10.000 of these were fitted with rear sights. Our modelfeatures a machined 900 yard, long-range rear sight. This musket is the same as the 1842 smoothbore except the barrel has been rifled with 3lands & grooves. This musket features a one-piece walnut hand oil finished.

US Model 1855 Percussion Rifle 910.002The Model 1855 was the first rifle musket to be produced in the United States. It was manufactured at both the Springfield and Harpers FerryArmories. It was also the first rifle to use the .58 caliber mini ball which revolutionized warfare by allowing ease of loading yet attaining deadlyaccuracy. The lock of the model 1855 contained the Maynard tape primer system. This system eliminated the need of a percussion cap (althoughnormal percussion caps were fully compatible with the Maynard system) by using a roll of caps to ignite the gunpowder. These caps were remarkablysimilar to a modern day roll caps for toy cap pistols. These weapons were primarily in the hands of the U.S. Regular army so very few state volunteersmanaged to get their hands on them.
