1 Praise be to God for the blessings of a great year. I want to encour- age the ministries as we come together for our annual conference, and look forward to a great 2018. It is my prayer that we can be- come a more cohesive Christian family and be a better witness for the Kingdom. We can- not allow obstacles already facing us, to impede progress, we must accept the under- lining theme of moving by faith, and believing that God will. We will see some changes in many aspects of our ministry, and believe the changes we make will develop leaders to carry forth the mission of this church. I pray for your support as we seek to sharpen the axe to create a better program for the ministry of the church. I am blessed by the efforts of our youth at last months retreat. I was impressed by the participation and the spiritual testimonies of our youth. I also want to encourage our youth to continue to do well in their studies as they approach this last semester. Study hard, and learn. Parents, our children are quite bril- liant, but they are still young and need the aid of your wisdom. Your help with them now, will pay off later. I am in prayer for so many who lost loved ones this year. I pray that as families heal, they will see God as never before, and trust that the God of the mountain, who is still God in the valley, will enable our lives to regain strength and move forward with pleasant memories. Our lives were shaped by their lives and values. The Pastor’s Corner Rev. Wayne P. Snodgrass, D. Min. Praise be to God for the blessings of a great year. I want to encour-age the ministries as we come together for our annual conference, and look forward to a great 2018. It is my prayer that we can be-come a more cohesive Christian family and be a better witness for the Kingdom. We can-not allow obstacles already facing us, to impede progress, we must accept the under-lining theme of moving by faith, and believing that God will. We will see some changes in many aspects of our ministry, and believe the changes we make will develop leaders to carry forth the mission of this church. I pray for your support as we seek to sharpen the axe to create a better program for the ministry of the church.

I am blessed by the efforts of our youth at last month’s retreat. I was impressed by the participation and the spiritual testimonies of our youth. I also want to encourage our youth to continue to do well in their studies as they approach this last semester. Study hard, and learn. Parents, our children are quite bril-liant, but they are still young and need the aid of your wisdom.

Min.

I hope that as we go forth, Progressive Union will be, “A Church in the word, making a difference in the world!”

Making a Difference in the

World (Part 82)

I usually start out expounding about PU being a Church in the Word. This month I would like to touch on two phases of God’s Word in view of the season that is upon us.

Christ set the example of things we must do as a Christian. Matthew chapters 5 and 6 talks of things we must consider. Then Matthew chapter 7 talk

about judging others. Our Sunday school lesson to-day talked about judging (1Cor.11:31-32)

Let us take an exam and a moment to judge our-selves.

Will we fed the hungry during the Christmas sea-son and through the coming year or will we feast just among family who is already blessed?

Will we clothe those who are naked just during this season or will we provide clothes for the needed throughout the coming year?

Do we lay up treasures: fine houses, fancy cars, and jewel for ourselves and forget about our home-less brothers?

Do we seek to Love one another throughout the year or just at the Holiday season?

If your answers in not in line with what Christ would do make it your New Year resolution to do so.

Are your answers in line with what Christ would do?

If we do what Christ would do then we will start “Making a Difference in the World”.
