Keep Praying For Our Haiti Mission Work! After meeting with the elders the decision has been made to place our January and April trips on hold for the foreseeable future. The guest house has been shut down until after Jan 1. Given the unknown nature of events at this time and our inability to ensure some level of safety, we have de-cided to shelve any further trips until we know more. This may be quite a while when dealing with Haitian police and investigation systems. All that being said, we are still planning on being strongly involved with the work, if only in a financial capacity at this time. There will be a meeting sched-uled in the coming weeks for the Mission Team to get together to discuss and answer any questions you might have. I appreciate your willingness to work and put in time for the cause of furthering the Gospel in Haiti. Con-tinue to pray for the Children’s Home. The missions committee will also be planning other trips for 2017 in a variety of locations that hopefully many of you can be involved with. Thank you for all you do!! Brad Whitson Sycamore Missions
We Need You For Trunk or Treat! The date is Friday, October 30, 6:00pm. The place is our parking lot and fellowship room. It’s exciting to see so many folks dressing up and getting involved in this great work! We need people to decorate trunks, bring candy, serve food, clean up, etc. There are sign-up sheets on the Kids’ for Christ bulletin board downstairs by the Big Class classroom. You can place the candy in the tubs downstairs or in the foyer. We will also have a maze of hay bales for the children. If you can help with that, see Jeremy Fox or Scott Jefcoat. We anticipate a large crowd again this year, so please come on out for this huge outreach event! However, we cannot possibly pull off this event without your help! We urge everyone to attend and find a job! Your smiling and friendly faces will make all the difference in the world! We appreciate all those who are involved in this special outreach!
Guest Speaker On Sunday, November 8, the new president for Faulkner University, Mike Williams, will be bringing us the sermon. We also invite all the teens and their parents to come to the fellowship room for Bible class as he will share a message to them. Mike spoke at Inspire this past summer, and we are excited about the great job that he will do for the university. We look forward to hearing him preach and teach for us. We urge you to attend. There will also be a luncheon at the Lebanon Country Club on Thursday, November 12, 11:30am-1:30pm, to meet the new president. It is for all ministers, elders, deacons, and members in the area who would like to attend. Faulkner will be paying for a nice buffet meal. They are trying to get the word out about this wonderful Christian University, and the value of a Christian education. Sycamore will be taking a van to Lebabon. We will leave at 10:30am, and return by 2:30pm. Let me know if you would like to attend the luncheon. Love for you to go with us! Kevin
