San Francisco — the City by the Bay. Many of us [ including Tony Bennett ] have left our hearts here... Whether we’ve been here or not, Fantasy is making it possible for us to really get to know the city (not to mention the surrounding wine country) at the upcoming 8-Day Super San Francisco Wine Country Super Rally, September 24 through October 1, 2017! Throughout the Rally, we stay at one of the top rated RV campgrounds in California – with the driving in deluxe motor coaches. Just north of the city, our RV park provides full hookups and is just minutes from the Napa and Sonoma county wineries. This is a Super Rally – Fantasy pulls out all the stops and our days are packed with exciting tours, delicious meals and the opportunity to experience this beautiful area of our country like never before. It all begins with a welcome barbeque right at our relaxing RV park. The next morning, we begin the day with a guided tour of San Francisco. We head first to swanky Nob Hill, known for its famous hotels which were originally the palatial mansions of railroad barons and Gold Rush principals. Next stop is North Beach --which isn’t a beach at all but rather the city’s Italian quarter with European-style sidewalk cafes, restaurants and shops. We drive to the Presidio – right at the mouth of the bay and where San Francisco began. It was originally established as a Spanish military outpost, later became a Mexican fort, and in 1846 was converted to a U.S. Army post. Today, it’s a unique National Park. We stop to walk down Lombard Street – one of America’s most steep and crooked streets, complete with sharp switchback curves and surrounded by stately mansions. We visit one of the most photographed sites in the city, the iconic Greco-Roman styled Palace of Fine Arts, one of the few remaining buildings left from the 1915 Panama- Pacific Exhibition. Those of us who choose to can walk across the 1.7 mile Golden Gate Bridge, considered the most famous bridge in the world. Our lunch stop is at Pier 39, which coincidentally turns 39 years old this year. It’s not just a pier – much is going on. There’s street entertainment, more than 100 shops and restaurants, and even sea lions cavorting around the docks. We spend the afternoon at the Walt Disney Family Museum – which tells the fascinating story of the life of Walt Disney, his successes and failures and how the new technologies of the 20th century enabled him to create some of the most iconic characters in the world. We can opt to end the day with an optional ride on one of San Francisco’s cable cars – experiencing spectacular views and fun transportation. The following day we have an inspirational morning at Canine Companions for Independence. This organization provides highly trained assistance dogs to children and adults with with a variety of disabilities. We experience the joy of Peanuts while we enjoy a guided tour of the Charles M. Schulz Museum, housing the largest collections of original Schulz artwork in the world. Next, we taste a bit of the bubbly when we stop for a box lunch at the Korbel Champagne Cellars – established in 1882 and the SAN FRANCISCO — wine country SUPER RALLY

oldest continually operating champagne house in North America. Our tour continues through the Russian River Valley, where we see miles and miles of grapes – all destined to become fine wines. We stop to visit the art community of Sebastopol in western Sonoma County – a small town which has declared itself a nuclear-free zone. We end the day with more wine, food and adventure with dinner and wine tasting at the beautiful Francis Coppola Winery. We travel to the charming town of Sausalito the next morning, and we have time to take in all the sights and sounds – the San Francisco skyline across the bay, seals frolicking in the water, the Mediterranean-style hills behind town and the funky art galleries and shops. After lunch in Sausalito, we board the ferry to cross the bay to San Francisco. We disembark near San Francisco’s most famous waterfront community, Fisherman’s Wharf – an historic area which still influences the present-day culture and events of the city. We stop at Boudin at the Wharf to watch their bakers prepare dough from their famous Gold Rush recipes. At the end of the Wharf, we discover the beautiful and historic Ghiradelli Square – a former chocolate factory where we can splurge on some delicious chocolate and ice cream. The gastronomic treats continue when we visit the Buena Vista Café, (or “BV” as it’s known to locals) the home of the original Irish Coffee from a recipe created in 1952.

Our culinary adventure continues with dinner in Little Italy, and the night is not over. We have reserved seats at the hilarious pop-culture musical revue, Beach Blanket Babylon – the world’s longest-running musical revue. Snow White journeys around the world in search of her Prince Charming, along the way encountering characters including Donald and Melania Trump, Hillary Clinton, Vladimir Putin, Lady Gaga, Kim Kardashian, Oprah, Princess Leia and the San Francisco Giants…all wearing outrageously gigantic hats!San Francisco’s Chinatown is the largest Chinatown outside of Asia and the oldest in North America. We spend the next morning on a walking tour, visiting the Pharmacy of Ancient Herbs, where we can see the ingredients which go into Chinese medicines, a Chinese grocery store, a Fortune Cookie Factory, where thousands of fortune cookies are made by hand daily, and finally a Dim Sum lunch, where we linger over such delicacies as deep-fried radish cakes, crackly skinned pork belly and Chinese beignets, which are craggy deep-fried and sugar-rolled doughnuts, and of course complimented by Chinese tea. After lunch, we hop on the ferry to cruise across the bay to one of the most infamous island prisons of all time – Alcatraz, the unwilling home of many bad guys including Al Capone and the Birdman. On our self-guided audio tour, we’ll step behind bars and see where prisoners ate, slept and exercised as they did their time

on “The Rock”.We travel through the dazzling Napa Valley the next morning, and then it’s all aboard the Wine Train, where we’ll enjoy a gourmet lunch in a 1952 Pullman domed railcar on this three hour journey through the spectacular scenery of some of the most expensive and famous agricultural real estate in the country. On board, we’ll dine in elevated splendor watching the vineyards go by. And what would a day in Napa be like without wine tasting? There’ll be plenty of that as well. It’s a planetarium, an aquarium, a rain forest and a natural history museum, all under one living roof. And it’s where we’re headed and spending much of the next day – the California Academy of Sciences, showcasing the diversity of mother Earth. It’s not just events and exhibits – it’s a working academy where researchers are addressing some of the most important scientific questions of our time. After soaking up all of this knowledge, it’s time for our Farewell Dinner – cruising on San Francisco Bay. The following morning we enjoy a Goodbye Continental Breakfast with our fellow guests and Fantasy staff members. We know that thanks to this 2017 Super Rally, we will always treasure our time together at the City by the Bay.
