G.R.O.W. Orientation Reaching Our Jerusalem in 2019
Sunday, January 27 at 4:00 PM
The Outreach Committee is offering an information session for those inter-
ested in learning more and/or participating in G.R.O.W. during 2019. This
one-hour meeting will occur Sunday, January 27 at 4:00 PM in the Minis-
try Center. Refreshments will be served. We ask G.R.O.W. team members
for a commitment of one night per month (first Mondays) for the next 12
months. Will you commit to being on this winning team of outreach in our
community?
Each believer purposing to grow
spiritually in 2019:
Pray over your commitment card this
week.
Ask the Holy Spirit to lead you to one
or more specific commitment(s).
Be open to a "write-in" commitment
not mentioned on the card.
People do not drift toward holiness. Apart from
grace-driven effort, people do not gravitate
toward godliness, prayer, obedience to Scripture,
faith, and delight in the Lord. We drift toward
compromise. D.A. Carson
February 3rd is “Consecration Sunday”
Small Beginnings,
Powerful Results
A recent video demonstrates the power unleashed by an
extremely small domino – only 5 mm tall and 1 mm thick –
in a series of dominos each of which is 1.5 times larger than
the previous. The smallest domino topples the adjacent
domino that is half again larger. Then this larger domino
knocks over the next domino which is 1.5 times larger still.
In the end, this small domino started a chain reaction which
brought down the 13th domino in the series weighing over
100 pounds! Small Beginnings, Powerful Results!
G.R.O.W. Team Orientation:
Sunday – January 27, 2019
“God Rewards Our Work” every month as missionaries go
to work in Headland through visiting, letter writing and
phone calling. We extend the love and message of Jesus
Christ right here in our Jerusalem on first Monday evenings.
Come check out this rewarding ministry this Sunday at
4:00 PM in the Ministry Center. Refreshments provided.
Our ‘divine appointments’ impact eternity! Your step of
commitment in God’s hands can bring about powerful
results for His glory!
Spiritual Growth Plan:
Consecration Day – February 3, 2019
We grow spiritually in becoming more like Christ by
intentionality. What commitment(s) are you prayerfully
considering for 2019? Be sure to fill out your commitment
cards – sign one to keep and bring one to present in worship
on February 3rd. One small step of commitment may well
begin a powerful chain reaction of spiritual growth in your
life, your family, our church and the world!
Men’s Retreat:
February 22-23, 2019
Two weeks ago, the men of First Baptist Church and
Greater Shiloh Baptist Church made small steps toward one
another in unity under Christ. We gathered for a men’s
breakfast together in Jesus’ name. The next ‘domino’ is a
Men’s Retreat combining the men’s ministries of both
churches. This is a historical moment in these churches and
in our community. Only God knows what powerful results
are ahead. Be sure to sign up and give your $30 deposit
soon.
We serve our Omnipotent God for whom nothing is too
difficult. Our small steps of obedience will cause powerful
results!

What does God think about attitudes? This updated study

attitudes God hates and put on those He honors.
Biblical Prophecies Upon Nations Now
and in the End Times (Continues) 5-Weeks Led by Larry Dunagan
This study takes a detailed look at biblical prophecy as it
relates to nations now and in the future. Does biblical
prophecy speak to world events happening today? What
does prophecy say about the current world powers, the
Middle East, Asia, and Europe for the future? How is
God’s plan going to unfold for the Lord’s Second Com-
ing? The Bible through prophecy answers many questions.
