Church-Wide Prayer Walk
for VBS
Sunday, June 3, 5:30 PM
Worship Center
Vacation Bible School is one of our most effective ministries to children and their
families. God uses VBS to reach the lost and unchurched and to nurture and build those
who already know Christ. Bathing this ministry in prayer is essential to its effectiveness.
Please join us this Sunday at 5:30 PM in the Worship Center. We will meet together to
receive instructions and our 2012 VBS Prayer Guide. After that we will walk the church
campus to offer specific prayers for each aspect of Vacation Bible School.

Serving Another
What an incredible and inspiring past weekend of
remembering what is important. There was the
remembering of the men and women who have given their
lives not for wreaths or words but for continued freedom
for America. There was the remembering of God the
Father who sent His Son, Jesus, to give His life not for
buildings or traditions but for people’s freedom from the
penalty of sin and the wrath of God at the same time
receiving life eternal. Thanks be to God for His salvation
and for America.
This Monday begins a big month of Children’s and
Student Ministries. Our VBS, Amazing Wonders Aviation,
takes off for a week of learning our awesome God’s
amazing power. I am very thankful to those who have
agreed to serve in Bible school. May God bless you in
your kingdom service to children.
Then, on June 24 begins the student ministry mission camp
Re-Wired 2012. Students at Re-Wired are gearing up to
host the children’s day camp called Camp Fusion at FBC
Headland beginning June 25. Camp Fusion is an active
camp for active kids who have completed Kindergarten
through 5th grade. Registration is online at
www.fbcheadland.com. Click on the Camp Fusion link. In
the registration the children will give their top three
choices of activities. Children will be involved in one
active class for the four days of camp. They can choose
from football, soccer, cooking, theater, stomp &
percussion, or construction zone. Fusion is a merging of
God’s Truths with fun activity. Read the details online for
these activities.
Lastly, we have a need for people to serve on the Feeding
Team for Camp Fusion and Re-Wired. Camp Fusion feeds
lunch to all the camp and Re-Wired will need to be served
breakfast and supper each day of June 25-28 (Monday-
Thursday). If you can serve in the kitchen one day, one
meal or all week, please get in touch with me. Hungry
children make for terrible campers. Join our feeding team!
I am looking forward to God’s amazing work in the lives
of children, teens and adults through the month of June.

T he FBC Media Center has
acquired some books that
will interest sports fans! One
of those books is Through My Eyes
by Tim Tebow with Nathan
Whitaker. It is the true story of one
of the most accomplished players in
college football history. A two-time
winner of the NCAA National Foot-
ball Championship with the University of Florida, Tebow
was also the first-ever sophomore to win the Heisman Tro-
phy. The founder of the Tim Tebow Foundation for bring-
ing faith, hope, and love to those in need of a brighter day,
he was selected to the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft by
the Denver Broncos.
This book tells the story of the son of Christian missionar-
ies and details his early years, his home-schooled upbring-
ing, his entrance into SEC college football, and the
NFL. Read about how his faith and how his belief-not just
in himself, but in the plan God had laid out for him and his
determination and dedications-proved his detractors wrong.
With this book, Tim offers a firsthand, never-before-told
account of how it all really happened-on the field, behind
the scenes, and through his eyes.
If you have suggestions for books, DVDs, CDs that you
would like to see added to our media center, please see
someone on the Media Committee or leave a note in the
Media Center! We have a simple "do it yourself" checkout
and check in system if no one is available when you visit.

Summer in the Psalms Sunday Nights at 5:30 PM
The Book of Psalms is the great hymn-book of Israel. Each psalm reflects upon a real life experience and reveals the psalmist’s heart toward God.
God has graciously given these songs of the heart to speak to our life experi-ences and raise our hearts in worship of Him.
Join us Sunday nights in the Worship Center this Summer as we draw near to the heart of God.
