Calvin StreeksCalvin was involved in making pup/ cat packs for

the community. He has also gotten a chance to go to numerous nursing homes in which he assisted in setting up their personal cell phones and kept them company through various card games. Calvin was also an active volunteer for the DOVES program. He especially enjoyed working with the local police departments and learning how drugs affect our community. The cancellation of sports, proms, concerts and graduations, along with isolation from friends and a worldwide pandemic are a new reality for graduates.

In “Class of 2020: Moving For-ward,” NET, Nebraska’s PBS & NPR Stations, brings together mental health professionals and students who reflect on the impact of changes to the end of the school year and discuss how to successfully cope with disruptions and future challenges. The program premieres at 8 p.m. CT, Thursday, May 28 on NET and Facebook.

High school and college stu-dents from across Nebraska also participate in the program, sharing their feelings and experiences in video journals recorded from home and submitted to NET. Keeping participants and NET staff safe and socially distant was a priority during production of the program.

“Class of 2020: Moving For-ward” will also air on television at 8:30 p.m. CT, Friday, May 29 on NET. It can be seen on NET World at 8:30 p.m. CT, Monday, June 1 and at 9:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, June 4.
