This week’s video is a tribute to the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Our montage reminds us of Dr. King’s wisdom, courage and legacy as well as the enduring peace that blankets a school true to Dr. Mon-tessori’s vision of Peace Education. The Good Reverend’s call to conscience calls to us, and we celebrate his dream in many ways at The Cobb School, Montessori. This col-lection instructs us to serve. “You only need a heart full of grace, a soul generated by love, and you can be that servant.”

Happy Monday: Martin Luther King, Jr. Day January 16, 2012
Our Upper Elementary participated in the 24th annual National Geographic Bee on Wednesday, January 11. The goal of the Bee is to help students become aware of global differences in culture, lan-guages, natural resources and famous landmarks. Our children worked hard to prepare for this special event and demonstrated an impressive body of knowledge during the course of its many rounds. Preliminary rounds topics included questions related to the United States, specifically its cities, its physical and its cultural geog-raphy. As the Bee progressed, later rounds included more difficult questions about world geography.
The final championship round was exciting for all of our students as the number of competitors diminished. The winners this year are Ben, third place, Connor, second place, and Taylor, our first place medal winner! Congratulations to all of our participants!
