    No circumstances have arisen since the reporting period , that require adjustments to or disclosures in the financial statements.

    There has been no significant change in the nature of the contingent liabilities which were disclosed in the audited financial statements for

    the year ended 31st March 2019 other than those disclosed below.

    Fair value measurements

    The fair values of all the financial assets and financial liabilities recognised during the period were not materially different from the

    transaction prices at the date of initial recognition other than the quoted shares categorized under level 1 as per the fair value hierarchy

    disclosed in the Annual Report 2018/2019 which were fair valued as at 31st December, 2019. There were no transfers between Level 1

    and Level 2 and no transfers into or out of Level 3 categories as per the fair value hierarchy, during the period as disclosed in the

    annual report 2018/2019. The fair value changes have been recorded in the Statement of Comprehensive Income for the period.

    Accordingly, the required transition adjustments have been made on best estimate at the date of initial application of SLFRS 16 and

    subsequent adjustments have made in the following quarters.

    The Company and its subsidiaries follow the same accounting policies as in the Annual Report for the year ended 31st March, 2019

    except for the initial adoption of SLFRS16–“Leases” which became applicable for financial reporting periods beginning on or after 1st

    January 2019

    SLFRS16 requires the recognition of lease liabilities and right of use of assets for leases previously classified as

    operating leases in accordance with LKAS 17 – “Leases”:

    Contingent liabilities exist in relation to guarantees issued by E.B. Creasy & Company PLC to financial institutions on behalf of its

    Associate to obtain facilities from Financial Institutions is as follows:

    The balances pertaining to the comparative period have been reclassified, where relevant, for better presentation and to be comparable with

    those of the current period.

    The accounting policies and methods of computation are consistent with those accounting policies and methods set out in the audited

    financial statements for the year ended 31st March 2019 and also in compliance with Sri Lanka Accounting Standard LKAS 34 - Interim

    Financial Reporting other than the item disclosed below,

    01.1

    The COVID-19 outbreak impacted our business operations due to the curfew restrictions imposed as a measure to control the spread of the

    pandemic. Consequently, our manufacturing and distribution activities came to a standstill for the first half of the quarter.

    The Group has been cautiously monitoring the impact of the pandemic on the Group’s business operations, keeping a vigilant eye on global

    supply chains and social and economic variables and taking timely initiatives to mitigate the adverse impact on the Group’s profitability and

    the cash flows.

    During the period,Sunquick Lanka (Private) Limited (the Joint Venture Company) entered into a contract to purchase plant

    and machinery worth of USD 1.5 million, of which the balance commitment outstanding as at 30th September 2020 is USD 0.15

    million.
