Fraternity & Sorority Life at Illinois State University.TRANSCRIPT
Alanna Hill
Alanna is an active alumna of Sigma
Kappa sorority. She was initiated at Indi-
ana State University and received her
masters degree at Ball State University.
Why fraternity and sorority life?
I believe in the value of the fraternal
movement because of the values and
ritual of each organization.
The lifelong commitment to our values
and ritual is something that sets us apart
as a community. It is what drives me to be
a strong alumna and a better sister each
day.
What would you like the commu-
nity to know?
We are committed to your success.
This community is in a great place and is
constantly growing. As an office, we stand
as mentors and resources to help you
achieve your goals.
Fraternity and Sorority Life at Illinois State
is filled with new faces. Here’s a brief intro
to your new full time staff.
Alex Snowden
Alex Snowden is an active alumni of Beta
Theta Pi Fraternity. He was initiated at
Texas A&M Corpus-Christi and received
his master’s degree from the CSPA pro-
gram here at Illinois State University.
Why fraternity and sorority life?
Those who choose to affiliate take an oath
saying we will be better. When you raised
your right hand, dropped to a knee, or
placed your hand on a bible you agreed
from that moment forward
“I will live by my values and be hon-
orable in all aspects of my life.”
As a fraternity man or sorority woman you
have embarked on one of the greatest
lifelong journeys you will ever take and
you do it not alone but as brothers and
sisters. We are family, no matter the letter.
What would you like the commu-
nity to know?
We are here to help. We want to better
your members, your organization, and
the community.
Our goal is to make sure you have a
positive and safe experience as an affiliat-
ed undergraduate member so you will
become strong, well rounded, and dedicat-
ed alumni to your future endeavors, your
alma mater, and your organizations.

what is expected of you. Program with or-
ganizations outside of your councils, outside
of the FSL Community.”

not disappoint them?

The Epsilon Omicron chapter of Sigma Sigma Sigma received one of the only five awards National Headquarters gives out each year. In the spring of last year during our Founders Day Celebration, a National Executive Board Member, Courtney Stone, awarded our chapter “The Commitment to Excellence Award”. This honor led to our President being able to visit the Mable Lee Walton house in Wood-stock, Virginia over Thanksgiving break where Tri Sigma's National Headquarters is located.

Interfraternity Council
The Interfraternity Council has been busy at work this fall semester. So far we have had an extremely successful recruitment week and currently have all of the positions filled after an elec-tion held on September 19th.
We have a large task ahead of us but we have an intelligent group of men in the right positions to make it happen.
We have a vision this semester to grow the Greek members into a Greek com-munity. We have started in a positive direction with different Fraternities hosting
events together in order to raise funds for members of our community in need. With the help of all Fraternities we have plans to restructure our constitution into a tool for everyone to gain guidance from and a structure to hold ourselves more accountable. We are focusing on uniting into a community where the barriers are broken, help is always around, and the men are re-spectful to one another as well as the entire Illinois State University Population.
Recruitment Wrap Up By: Dominic Massa, IFC VP Recruitment
Fall 2014 was another great recruitment for the Interfraternity Council at Illinois State University.
Over 450 men participated in recruitment and that resulted for over 320 signed bids.
It was a great start to the year for Greek Life, and IFC looks to build on the success with another great recruitment this spring.
Congratulations to all Fraternities and their great new members!

Continued... The Alpha Tau Omega chapter at Illinois State University was honored with the True Merit Honorable Mention and Excellence awards in Leadership Development and Cam-pus involvement.
ATO hopes to receive a True Merit bowl next summer in Indianapolis for the 150th anniversary ATO Congress.
The Pi Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. located in Nor-mal, IL and the Tau Chi Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. located in Springfield, IL are teaming up to raise awareness to Breast Cancer in America.
As prominent Greek lettered organizations in our communities, we share many important values. Service happens to be at the forefront of most things we do. Thus, we have decided to come together and collab-orate on an event, knowing that there is more power in numbers.
The event will be a two-part Breast Cancer awareness event taking place October 24-25. We will be starting the weekend off with a volleyball tournament in the Student Rec Center beginning early Friday evening where we would collect any donations, with all proceeds benefiting the Breast Cancer Awareness Society.
The following Saturday afternoon, there will be a seminar where we will have three guest speakers: one who is expert on breast cancer, one who is a survivor of breast cancer and one individual who is still battling the disease. During the seminar on Saturday, we would like all of our guest and audience members to wear pink shirts or purchase breast cancer shirts from our organizations which will be on sale!

A Note from the CPC President By: Adrian Fait, CPC President
Hello! My name is Adrian Fait and I am the President of the College Panhellenic Council.
As president, I run our weekly meetings as well as oversee the council.
Our council stands for upholding the four pillars of scholarship, sisterhood, leader-ship, and philanthropy.
We recently just had the most successful recruitment Illinois State University has ever seen and now we are working towards extending an invitation for another sorority to join our campus.
I am honored to be a part of such an amaz-ing organization and cannot wait to see all that the councils accomplish this year.
