Introduction

Over the course of her career, Patricia Duff has worked with a variety of political campaigns and been a consultant for top political strategy firms in Washington, D.C. She has served as special assistant to the chief counsel and public information officer for a Congressional Investigative Committee at the United States House of Representatives, and aired a political talk show called Duff Talk. In 2007, Patricia Duff founded The Common Good to provide a forum for productive discussions between policy makers and others interested in civic engagement and participatory democracy.

The Common Good

As a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization, The Common Good honors individuals who have made exceptional contributions to democracy and changing the world with its American Spirit Awards. Past honorees have included Arnon Milchan, the producer of 12 Years a Slave, and Lilly Ledbetter, whose tireless pursuit of economic justice led to the landmark Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act of 2009.
