THE COMPANY

Plastitalia represents one of the most important

and dynamic companies in Europe for the production

of fittings and special pieces in PE80 and PE100

(polyethylene) for water and gas pipelines under

pressure.

The production range consists in:- Injection moulded butt fusion spigot fittings from

De 25 to De 1.200 with pressure rates that go from

Sdr 41 to Sdr 6;

- Electro-fusion couplers up to d. 630 in Pe100 Sdr

11 and up to d. 800 in Pe100 Sdr 17 and Sdr 26/41;

- Electro-fusion fittings and welding machines;

- Transition fittings Pe/steel and Pe/brass;

- Segmented fittings and other special pieces in any

kind of configuration, bending radius and diameter;

Furthermore, we promote a wide range of accessories

and welding equipment for butt fusion and electro-

fusion.

Plastitalia rises up from a collection of ideas and

projects of a group of young and qualified specialists

of this sector, spurred by the ambition to become

part of a productive world, as the plastic materials,

that requires a continuous updating and renovation.

Plastitalia was born in 1993 from Eurocondotte; a

company of the group specialised in dealing and

installing water systems and has soon become head

of the line in 1996 turning from SRL to SPA.

Thanks to its competence, quality, reliability and

determination Plastitalia was successful not only to

impose itself in the Italian market, establishing itself

among the main producers of fittings, but also to

cross the frontiers of the foreign markets, where it

is widening his ray of action more and more.

Plastitalia offers services and essential technical

suggestion, as support of the construction of works,

that fully meet the Customer’s requirements. The

realization of reliable systems, in harmony with the

environment, requires know-how and equipments

in the forefront.

The Quality, the Service and the Attention towards

the Customer are the standard features of Plastitalia.

In fact, all the team has a primary objective that is

to satisfy the Customer.

The head offices and the factory of Plastitalia are

in Via Ferrara - 98061 Brolo (ME)- Italy, situated in

the center of the northen coast of Sicily.

Plastitalia has a very big logistical advantage to

supply all over Europe within 4-5 days and thanks

to the geografical position, very easy access to

countries of the Mediterranean area including south

Europe, North Africa and Middle East.

SEGMENTED FITTINGS

Plastitalia fittings are produced using the Polyethylene.This material has many qualities, it is particularly adjustedfor the manufacturing of pipes and fittings for the realizationof transport systems of fluids and gas. In particular, itsorganoleptic qualities allow the transport of water, withoutaltering its property. Moreover, PE Pipe systems are reliablefor the transport of gas, thanks to their flexibility andperfect tightness.The Polyethylene is in conformity with the European currentregulations and classified as follows:1) MRS 8 = PE80= SIGMA 632) MRS 10 = PE100 = SIGMA 80The used raw material is produced by INEOS and TOTALPETROLCHEMICALS, world leading Companies in theproduction of PE, manufactured according to the Phillipsprocess (unimodal) and Ziegler-Natta process (bimodal).Plastitalia offers to its own Customers fittings in PE80 andPE 100 characterized by:Low specific weight;Impact resistance;Ultraviolet rays resistance;High Flexibility;Chemical agents resistance;Abrasion resistance;Resistance against micro-organisms;Completely non-toxic for the use in water systems;Temperature utilization from -40°C to + 40°C;Radiation Stability;Facility for the transport and installation;Facility for the welding of pipes and fittings.

The raw material and the products conform to the hygienicsanitary rules of Ministry for Health (Ministerial Decree No.174 dated April 6 2004.

NORMATIVE REFERENCES AND PRODUCT CERTIFICATIONS.Since January 1st, 1995 Plastitalia is a licensee of theTrademark of Conformity IIP-UNI; for fittings in PE100according to the following Standards:UNI EN 12201 (PE fittings for water distribution pipesystems).UNI EN 1555 (PE fittings for combustible gas distributionpipe systems).UNI EN ISO 15494 (PE fittings for industrial use pipesystems).The fittings, manufactured by Plastitalia Spa, have alsoobtained the trademark of Conformity PIIP from the ItalianInstitute of Plastics, valid in the European field, attestingthe correspondence to standards:EN 12201 (PE fittings for water distribution pipe systems);EN 1555 (PE fittings for combustible gas distribution pipesystems).Plastitalia fittings also satisfy the International regulationsand rules, according to the certifications have been obtainedfrom the following Institutions:-DVGW (Germany)-CERTIGAZ (France)-WRAS (Great Britain)-KIWA (Holland)-GOST R (Russia)-ZIK (Croatia)

QUALITY CONTROLPlastitalia fittings are constantly subjected to accuratequality control plans, during the whole productive process,in order to assure a high quality standard of the finishedproduct.Raw Material Control:Melt Flaw Rate (MFR), testing temperature 190°C, 5 kilos.Results expressed in gr/10min, testing method accordingto UNI EN ISO 1133.Test of induction time to the oxidation (OIT), testingtemperature 200°C, 20 min., testing method according toUNI EN 728.Product Control:Visual and dimensional control tests, according to UNI andEN reference standards.Verification of fluidity index (MFR) according to UNI ENISO 1133.Internal pressure resistance at constant temperature.Testing Temperature 20°C - 100 hrs.Testing Temperature 80°C - 165 hrs.Testing Temperature 80°C - 1000 hrs.Testing method according to UNI EN 1167 Test of inductiontime to the oxidation (OIT), testing temperature 200°C, 20min., testing method according to UNI EN 728.Verification of the mechanical characteristics (Dumbell Test,Peel Decohesion Test, Crushing Decohesion Test) accordingto the International Standards ISO 13953, ISO 13954 and

ISO 13955.The personnel of Plastitalia Laboratory works in conformitywith the indications of UNI EN ISO-IEC 17025 Standard.The laboratory examines the products according to aninternal Quality Control plan, planned by The Italian Instituteof Plastics.METHODS OF JOINTINGThe PE fittings produced by Plastitalia can be welded withPE pipes through: Butt fusion welding with thermo element(UNI10520) and Electrofusion welding (UNI 10521). Plastitalia cooperates with the Italian Institute of Welding,for the certification of qualified welders, according to UNI9737 Standard.APPLICATION RANGEThe exceptional chemical and physical characteristics ofPE allowed to replace other traditional materials in waterpipeline systems, conduction systems of combustible gas,civil and industrial sewerage, irrigation, sea outfalls, anti-fire mains, pools, protection of cables systems, relining ofpipelines, etc.SERIES OF PRODUCTS, DIMENSIONS AND PRESSURE RATES.Plastitalia Company offers a complete series of standardproducts and special pieces with dimensions available fromDE 25 mm to DE 1200 mm; the pressure rates are from PN2,5 bar to PN 32 bar.The fittings are produced through theinjection moulding, the assembly (the welding is carriedout by qualified staff, provided with the QualificationCertification according to UNI 9737 Standard) and throughthe mechanical manufacturing.Furthermore, Plastitalia produces manholes in PE of anydiameter and configuration.

Plastitalia S.p.A. gained the certification of its own Quality

and Environment Management System in conformity to

UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 Standard and of its own

Environmental Management System in conformity to UNI

EN ISO 14001 Standard. Moreover, the site is registered

EMAS according to reg. CE 761/01 and reg. CE 196/06.

Plastitalia fittings gained the Conformity Certification

issued by the Italian Institute of Plastics, IIP, SVGW/SSIGE,

KIWA, WRAS, BULGARKONTROLA, DVGW, CERTIGAZ, besides

the approval and homologation by Italgas , AEM, Gas

Natural. The fittings are fit for contact with potable water,

as provided for by the Ministerial Decree No. 174 dated

April 6, 2004.

The engagement for the protection towards the environment

is the confirmation of the Environmental Declaration

obtained in December 2005, according to the Reg. CE

761/01, that is known as EMAS, and its relative recording

(registration number I-000485).

The production of the fittings takes place in compliance

with the current regulations, that regulate the transport

of fluids in pressure and combustible gas, among them the

recent UNI EN 12201 and UNI EN 1555 , and the

corresponding ISO and DIN.

The conformity of the products to the Standards is

guaranteed by the realization of a Quality Control Plan,

planned by the Italian Institute of Plastics and realized

thanks to the equipments of Quality Control Laboratory.

Plastitalia Laboratory is equipped with all the necessary

equipment, in order to guarantee an effective control of

the quality both on the raw materials and finished products.

The course of this control is in conformity with the main

European standard rules and the fittings are tested on the

basis of these rules.

The staff of Laboratory is trained and qualified, so that the

maximum professionalism and competence are always

assured. In addition to this, both the consolidated experience

in the field of plastics and the developed know-how are

a source of absolute guarantee about the work of the

assigned staff to the quality control.
