When the chips are down and
the decisions are made as to
who the candidates will be,
then the 11th commandment
prevails and everybody goes to
work, and that is: Thou shalt
not speak ill of another Re-
publican.
RONALD REAGAN, remarks
at a reception for delegates to
the New York Republican
Convention, Jun. 17, 1982
As we move into the spring,
with the election of our lifetime
looming less than one month
out, we all need to remember
that we as Republicans are es-
sentially working toward the
same goals. We may differ in
who we want to lead us to those
goals, but we still are striving for
the same ideals.
One of the key
tenants of our local
club is that we can-
not show prejudice
or support to any
one candidate in
the primaries. We
need to treat all
candidates with
respect.
With that in mind, I thought it
would be a good time to re-
member why we are Republi-
cans and what we stand for-
Because Principles Matter.
The reverse side of our busi-
ness card lists the Republican
Party of Texas Conservative
Principles. You may review

March Meeting~ American Exceptionalism
[email protected] T H E C R W
We will meet at the
Coppell Biodiversity
Center on Sunday,
March 6, 2016 at 3:00
pm for refreshments and
social time. Our meet-
ing will begin at 3:30 pm
as we welcome our
guest speaker, Mike Lee.
Mike’s subject will be
American Exceptionalism
and he will leave us mo-
tivated, rejuvenated and
asking for more.
Mike is a retired Navy
Hovercraft (LCAC) Pilot
and Flight Instructor
who logged over two
thousand flight
hours. When he began,
he was one of twelve
worldwide! During the
first gulf war and under
his leadership, his de-
tachment was awarded
and remains the only
LCAC detachment to
receive the Navy's Battle
Efficiency Ribbon, Navy
Unit Commendation and
Combat Action Rib-
bons. Additionally, un-
der his leadership the
detachment was recog-
nized for the astounding
number of crewmem-
bers who qualified as
Surface Warfare Special-
ist. Mike also served as
a Recruit Company
Commander / Navy Drill
Instructor and Survival
Instructor.

The Coppell Republican Women are hosting Amy Clark, Vice-Chairman
of the Texas GOP for a Messaging Seminar on Saturday, February 20 and
we would love for you to attend. Amy briefly touched on how to effectively
talk to liberals when she was our January speaker and we knew she had to
return for a more in-depth discussion.
We will meet on February 20 at River Oaks Assisted Living and Memory
Care at 1530 E. Sandy Lake Road in Coppell at 9:00 am for refresh-
ments with seminar beginning at 9:30 am. Seating is
limited so please RSVP to CoppellRepublicanWom-
[email protected]; a $5.00 donation per person will be
collected at the door. Participants will have an oppor-
tunity to pre-order Jason's Deli and pay at the semi-
nar. We will break for lunch at 11:30 and return for
an opportunity to practice through role play with
Amy.
Amy will explain how we can communicate our mes-
sage without insults, without attacking values, and
without barraging liberals with boring facts. It is vital
for conservatives to reach out to friends whose opin-
ions and beliefs have been shaped solely from the liberal media. Our goal
should be to enlighten and eventually spark a change in thinking.

Honoring America’s Veterans We honored and celebrated America’s
Veterans on October 29, 2015 with a spe-
cial event featuring Kris Paronto. Known
as ‘Tanto’, he is one of the real life heroes
from the Benghazi attack on September
11, 2012.Our co-hosts were the Irving
Republican Women and we welcomed
over 200 people to meet Tanto, get books
signed and listen to his amazing story of
courage and loss during
the attack. He is co-
author of the book 13
Hours The Inside Account
of What Really Happened
in Benghazi.During the
event all veterans in at-
tendance were introduced
by name, rank and branch of service.
The movie based on the book was
released on January 15, 2016. Sev-
eral of our members attended the
world premiere at AT&T Stadium
and left feeling stunned, over-
whelmed and speechless after see-
ing the heroism displayed.
