overview The MBA program is designed for students who want a broad knowledge base in all areas of business, strong technical skills, professional and personal effectiveness and capabilities in leadership and change management. Understanding of organizations in a global environment is fundamental to the program. Ethics, social responsibility, personal awareness and cultural acumen in a global setting are integrated throughout the curriculum. Students have international opportunities culminating in our Capstone abroad. The MBA program offers students opportunities to focus their studies within certain professions or areas of management practice or to select across different areas. A total of three courses are selected from the following: Finance Marketing Health Care Administration Organization Development (Planned Change) Human Resources Management Courses focused on the international and cultural aspect of each area are found within the concentration areas. structure The Master of Business Administration consists of Foundation courses, the Coaching Lab, the Essentials, the MBA Core, electives and a Capstone. Statistics 3 Cr. Coaching Labs. MBA students are paired immediately with a coach. A minimum of one coaching lab session is required for every semester in which you are enrolled. Some professional assessments will be required by the coach. Others will be determined mutually between the coach and the student. The outcome of the third coaching meeting will be a lifelong professional development plan that includes checkpoints for future coaching sessions. Beyond the third coaching meeting, students will work on personal effectiveness and leadership as determined mutually with their coach. The MBA Essentials. Essential courses are required when students have not had previous course work in the subject area. Students who completed equivalent work with a “B” or better as undergraduates may not be required to take Essentials. Fulfillment is required for graduation. application processMBA applicants must submit:

1. A completed CSS graduate application form with the non-refundable $50 application fee.

2. An official transcript issued to The College of St. Scholastica from all institutions previously attended.

3. GMAT score sent to the Admissions office of The College of St. Scholastica at the location to which you are applying.

4. Two letters of recommendation that verify professional and/or volunteer experience and academic ability.

5. A current resume listing all education and work experience.

6. A personal statement that addresses the following:

• What life experiences led you to pursue a master’s degree in business administration? • What personal characteristics and skills qualify you for leadership? • What are your career goals? • What do you anticipate are the most challenging aspects of beginning a master’s program?

7. A completed Computer Competency form.

8. A completed Student Immunization form (enclosed) if born after Dec. 31, 1956, except applicants who graduated from a Minnesota high school in 1997 or later.

9. All international applicants must provide evidence of a TOEFL score of 550 (paper) or 213 (electronic) or higher if English is not the applicant’s first language, unless the applicant has a bachelor’s or higher degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university. International applicants must complete all other requirements listed in the admission packet.
