The successful candidate will have sharp reporting instincts, outstanding news judgment, an ability to report and write quickly in a fast-moving atmosphere. A curiosity about the community and its people is vital. This person must have the ability to work productively in a team setting. The person must be aggressive and adept at setting priorities and reordering them as needed, particularly under deadline pressure or as circumstances change.
