THE DEER WHO HATED HIS LEGS A very good morning to the honourable judges, respectable teachers and dear friends. Today, I am going to tell you a story title the deer who hated his legs. Once upon a time there live a deer named Kinta in the forest. He had beautiful horns and was always praising his horns. “There is no other deer with horns as beautiful as mine. “Said the deer proudly. Everywhere, the deer went all the animals would praise him. But then one day as Kinta was walking proudly in the forest, he met a little squirrel. The squirrel said to Kinta. You have beautiful horns but it is a pity your legs spoil your good looks. Kinta felt very hurt by what the little squirrel had just said. Why do you say that? Asked Kinta. The squirrel said: “your horns are beautiful but your legs are to skinny. Your skinny legs make your horns less beautiful.” After saying that, the squirrel quickly ran up the tree into his nest. He was afraid Kinta would scold him. Kinta said sadly. “It’s true. My horns are beautiful but my legs are to skinny and ugly. Oh God! Why did you create me with such beautiful horns but with ugly legs? If only my legs were as beautiful as my horns, no animal will comment about my looks. I can walk anywhere in the forest feeling proud of myself, as I would be the most beautiful animal anyone has ever seen. My whole life would be different. “ Kinta was feeling sorry for himself when a rooster suddenly came by. The rooster wanted to know why Kinta was so sad. Kinta said sadly to the rooster. I have very skinny and ugly legs and that’s why I am so sad. The rooster said to Kinta: “Cock! Cock! Cock! You should be thankful. Even though your legs are skinny you can run fast. “ Kinta who hated his legs said “But……. But my legs look ugly.”

THE DEER WHO HATED HIS LEGS

A very good morning to the honourable judges, respectable teachers and dear friends.

Your skinny legs make your horns less beautiful.”

After saying that, the squirrel quickly ran up the tree into his nest.

Kinta was feeling sorry for himself when a rooster suddenly came by.

Kinta who hated his legs said “But……. But my legs look ugly.”

At that moment they suddenly heard a loud noise. “Bang!” in the air. Kinta and the rooster were startled by the loud noise. They saw many animals running away and a monkey shouted: “Uhuuu…! Uhu….!” We are in danger. We are in danger. The hunter is after us. Run! Run! Everyone run for your lives!

All the animals started running here and there. So Kinta and the rooster started running too. Kinta was so frightened, he did not know where to run. Kinta then ran fast towards the direction of the setting sun. As he was running he heard a dog barking: “Wow..! Wow…! Wow….! Wow…!” And so the hunter chasing him.

Kinta was terrified, he ran fast as he could into the forest. Unfortunately, his beautiful horns got caught on a branch.

Desperately, Kinta tried to free his beautiful horns but he could not do it. At that moment, he heard a parrot shouting jump with your strong legs and your horns will come free.

Kinta did exactly what the parrot told him to do. Kinta jumped and his horns were free. He then saw the hunter’s dog near him and the dog growled: “Woooo..!” and the dog started to chase him.

Kinta said to himself. “I must run as fast as I can or the hunter’s dog will catch me. As Kinta was running he kept on saying “I must run fast. I must run faster than the hunter’s dog in order to escape. I am sure I can. “

So Kinta ran fast as he could and the hunter’s dog continued to chase him. After sometimes, the hunter’s dog became tired. But Kinta continued running because his legs were strong.

Soon, Kinta was free as the dog had stopped chasing him. The dog could not run as fast as Kinta. As Kinta was walking back home, he met the rooster. The rooster said to Kinta: Cock…! Cock….! Cock…! You are very lucky, you are able to escape from the hunter’s dog because of your strong legs. God created your legs in such a way to help you to run fast. You should be grateful for having such legs. Kinta said “it’s true! My legs save my life. It was so foolish of me to hate my legs.”

Since that day, Kinta realized how strong his skinny legs were. He was able to escape from the dog because of his strong legs. It was his beautiful horns that nearly got him caught. He would have died if not for his strong legs.

So from that day onwards, Kinta never hated his skinny legs. He was thankful for having such legs, although skinny and ugly but they were strong. His legs could help him to run fast. Kinta was now proud of his skinny legs instead of his beautiful horns.

So ladies and gentlemen, as the saying goes, we must be grateful for what we have and make the best use of it. Thank you.
