The Destin Aquatic
Center
Family and Business Sponsorship
Program
From this:
Destin Leadership Team
Since the beginning of our efforts, support for the ECFF
has come from Destin residents . As the prospects for the
Destin Aquatic Center have developed, several of them
have stepped up to serve as the ECFF’s Destin Leadership
Team, which will lead the way in coordinating our efforts
in fund-raising, project management, and program
operations. They bring tremendous enthusiasm,
knowledge, experience and dedication to this project,
along with their ties to the Destin community. We are
fortunate to have them “on board” to help us. Please
support them in their endeavors any way you can.

Benefitting from Experience, Creating a New Vision
The Destin Aquatic Center
After almost two years of abandonment and decay, the
Emerald Coast Fitness Foundation has entered into a long-
term lease agreement with the Mattie Kelly Arts
Foundation to renovate and re-open the Destin Aquatic
Center. Much needs to be done to re-open the pools; and
more needs to be done to fully realize the potential of this
beautiful facility. The ECFF and its Destin Leadership
Team are seeking to employ a model similar to that of the
successful effort to reopen the Bernie R. Lefebvre Aquatic
Center in Fort Walton Beach:
Conduct clean-up and renovation to make the pools
and locker rooms operational
Establish and operate a schedule of program and
partner time allocation that offers a full range of
aquatic activities for the diverse members of the
community
Add enhancements including heating and enclosing
the recreational pool, revitalizing the fitness trail,
and improving spectator seating for the competition
pool
All capital improvements will be funded with
donations. Operating expenses, including rent paid
to the MKAF to support its programs, will be offset
by revenue generated by pool programs and
partners.
As with FWB, no long-term debt or pledges will be
incurred in this endeavor. Fiscal responsibility is a
primary objective in the ECFF’s business plans.
Donations are needed now to reopen this
facility
