Caring integrated through every service we deliver.Our clients come to us for care. That means more than a visit, or an appoint-ment. Our doctors listen and treat the whole person. From primary and mental health care for adults and children to recovery services and child and family education, our integrated programs and services are conveniently located on one campus. This unique continuum of care affects the lives and futures of thousands of people every year, as we work together to build a healthier community for all.

Commitment to an ever-expanding community.Dimock continues to build on a reputation which has expanded far beyond our community. Today, we serve clients from 212 zip codes across the state. We have taken the lead in the statewide discussion on recovery, as Massachusetts’ largest provider of substance abuse, mental health, and developmental disability services within a community health center.

We are moving forward on our vision to redefine the model of a healthy community by creating equitable access to comprehensive and integrated health care and education.

Excellence driven by diversity.Led by Dr. Myechia Minter-Jordan and a diversified workforce, Dimock doesn’t just talk about diversity, it’s in our DNA. The Dimock Center, formerly known as New England Hospital for Women and Children, was the first in New England and the second in the United States to be run by female doctors – a training school for female nurses renowned nationally. From our history we gain strength and lead with pride, offering patients and clients excellence every day.

Dear Dimock Family,As we reflect on FY2015 (July 1, 2014 – June 30, 2015), we we are incredibly grateful for your gener-ous support. Your commitment to The Dimock Center and the communities we serve is vital to the work we do every day. Your dedication has helped us cap a year full of amazing achievements that include advances in care, strengthened employee resources and recognition, and significant collaborations around community and statewide issues that affect us all.

In FY2015, we continued to strengthen our financial stability, which provides a foundation for future success. We are extremely proud of and excited about fully integrating our Behavioral Health Services within our adult Primary Care clinic this year. This innovative approach empowers patients to take control of their physical and mental health by partnering with a team of doctors and social work-ers; reduces stigma often associated with mental health issues; and decreases wait times for appoint-ments. Our ability to house a state-of-the-art medical facility and integrated, holistic programs on one campus helps us develop best practices while we care for children, adults and families.

This year, we continued to raise our visibility, distinguishing The Dimock Center as a leader and convener on issues affecting our neighborhoods, the City of Boston and the state of Massachusetts. In response to the substance abuse epidemic that continues to take its toll on our communities, The Dimock Center has emerged as a leader in compre-hensive substance abuse treatment and services. We strengthened our relationship with legislators and

key government stakeholders through noteworthy events, and substantiated support for increased access to addiction services while mapping out plans to expand our detox facility and addiction services through a capital campaign initiative.

Our annual report provides a time to celebrate our accomplishments and show you the impact of your support. This is also an important moment to look forward to a new year working together, unwavering in our commitment to our mission of healing and uplifting individuals, families and our community. When a father and his son seek help, Dimock's continuum of care steps inWhen his three-year-old son was removed from his mother’s custody, Florentino took on the role of both mother and father. With no place for the father and son to stay, Florentino came to Dimock with little more than hope. As one of the only shelters that allow boys up to 18 and male heads-of-households, Dimock gave Florentino and his son a place to live, stabilize, and plan for the future together. While staying at the Mary Eliza Mahoney House Family Shelter, Florentino sought permanent housing, his son attended Dimock's Head Start program, and our staff worked to assist in navigating service-based programs through pro-active case management to help the family regain self-sufficiency. Today, both Florentino and his son can see a brighter future ahead and are thankful for the Mary Eliza Mahoney Family Shelter and the staff who helped them move forward.

Spanning more than two decades, the rich collaboration between The Dimock Center and The TJX Companies, Inc., has made a tremendous impact on our organiza-tion and the thousands of adults, children and families we serve each year through holistic healthcare and education. Through sponsorships of Steppin’ Out and grants for our comprehensive programs, TJX has provided critical resources for our community health center, Head Start programs, family shelter and substance abuse recovery services. Highlights from FY2015Highlights from FY2015

FY15 saw The Dimock Center featured prominently in the press, continuing to build on its public presence, taking a more significant public role as it brought a fresh voice to some of the most pressing challenges we face in our community.

Dr. Minter-Jordan's leadership solidified Dimock’s prominent role in providing comprehensive healthcare and human services. Signature events like The Breakfast of Champions and the Gu-bernatorial Forum enabled The Dimock Center to stand out as a thought leader, while renowned events like Steppin’ Out brought together new friends and old in support of a common cause.

Gubernatorial Forum Held in collaboration with the Massachusetts League of Community Health Centers and Massachusetts Association of Community Health, The Dimock Center hosted The 2014 Dimock Center Gubernatorial Forum on our campus, moderated by Governor Michael Dukakis. For a standing room only crowd, the governor focused candidates on a discussion on health care delivery, reform, and future initiatives for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.

Mayor Announces Office of Recovery ServicesMayor Marty Walsh’s May release of the Blue Cross Blue Shield of MA Foundation report on substance abuse and addiction announced the appointment of Jennifer Tracey to lead the new Boston Office of Recovery Services. The Dimock Center was honored to be chosen as the loca-tion for this important announcement. The press conference drew in nearly 100 attendees.

Breakfast of Champions In FY15, The Dimock Center held its second annual Breakfast of Champions, bringing together key legislators and government officials around the subject of the state’s growing substance abuse epidemic. In the forum, prominent leadership from across the state carried on a vibrant discussion that provided insight and opened avenues of thought around the subject. Participants includ-ed: Attorney General Maura Healey, Mayor Martin J. Walsh, Congressman Joseph Kennedy, Representative Jeffrey Sanchez, Congressman Michael Capua-no, Congresswoman Katherine Clark, and Congresswoman Gloria Fox.

Steppin’ Out 2014 Always one of the most stunning events in the calendar year, The Dimock Center held its annual black-tie fundraiser, Steppin’ Out for its 27th year. With stel-lar performances by Jennifer Holliday and The O’Jays, the evening, once again, was outstanding for all. The funds raised at the event have supported the many programs and services Dimock provides.

Common Ground The Host of Common Ground, Sheriff Steven Tompkins, sat down with Dr. My-echia Minter–Jordan, President and CEO of the Dimock Center for a discussion on the Dimock Center’s work and the wide range of services we provide. Dr. Jordan took the opportunity to highlight initiatives at the Center and the critical attention necessary to combat substance abuse in the Commonwealth.

CityLine, WCVB Dimock President and CEO Dr. Myechia Minter-Jordan offered her thoughts in an interview with Karen Holmes Ward about the state’s opioid crisis and The Dimock Center’s efforts to expand access to treatment services.

Annual Meeting Representative Jeffrey Sanchez hosted The Dimock Center’s FY14 Annual Meeting featuring guest speakers Kate Walsh, President and CEO of Boston Medical Center, and Kevin Tabb, Presi-dent and CEO of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. A ribbon cutting of the newly renovated Richards Building followed the meeting and tours of the new space were held for guests.

Boston Globe Salute to Nurses As part of the Boston Globe's Salute to Nurses, a nomination letter for detox unit nurse Nadeene Platt was published in its online edition. In part it read: "Her compassion for patients is no more evident than when she goes in search of clean socks for a patient who has been chronically homeless, inebriated, and invariably disoriented."

Dimock’s first Career Fair attracts hundreds of attendeesThe Dimock Center held its first Career Fair on its campus in June. With over 200 attendees, the fair welcomed job seekers from surrounding communities while bringing attention to the variety of career opportunities offered at Dimock.

A Special Thank You

For over 25 years, Ruth Kelley has been the leading voice and strength behind Behavioral Health Services at The Dimock Center. Retiring in December of 2014, as Chief of Behavioral Health Services, Ruth left a legacy

of leadership; broadening the scope and services within the behavioral health programs, raising their substance and quality to new heights and serving as an inspiration to the Dimock community as a whole.

In her tenure, Ruth spearheaded a number of programs at Dimock, including an adolescent substance disorder treatment program, and personally identified funds for the renovation of the adult men’s residential recovery treatment program. She also championed and advocated for the introduction of The Dimock Center’s Community Stabilization Services unit. Through Ruth’s long and successful stewardship, our Behavioral Health Services program is recognized as one of the leading providers of substance use disorder treatment in the greater Boston area.

Ruth was at the forefront of efforts to integrate behavioral health with primary care and mental health services, and it was under her leadership that the creation of residential services for patients dually diag-nosed with HIV and a substance use disorder was established, now fittingly named The Ruth Kelley Ummi's House.

Not only has Ruth been an integral part of The Dimock Center’s growth and innovation throughout the years, her work here has served as a marker to behavioral health programs throughout the Commonwealth. We will always be grateful for your compassion and commitment.

We are inspired by our partnership with The Red Sox Foundation, which spans almost two decades. A highlight was welcoming Boston Red Sox Owner John Henry to our campus in 2004. Since then, The Dimock Center has been honored to be one of the Foundation’s five cornerstone programs in supporting the health, education, recreation, and social service needs of children and families in Boston. Through our collaboration, The Red Sox Foundation has contributed transformative support for The Dimock Center’s comprehensive programs and significantly upgraded our physical spaces.
